We plan to monitor the current events forum, but nothing from religion / sexuality / etc should really be making its way there. The current events forum is more meant to comment on vs debate things that are going on at the moment, anyway. :)

These discussions happen naturally all over the forums / shotubox / on the site in general. What went on in the debate forums was not "discussion" or "questioning", it was typically people attack each other and was the easiest place for trolls to score cheap points. Subeta isn't the place to discuss if transexuality is natural, and actually that entire discussion would be against our new community guidelines.

Judging by you saying you never went there, it wasn't a discussion you (or most people who've replied to this thread) wanted to have anyway :).

There is a big difference on offering feedback on things that have to do with Subeta (site features) and arguing (and lets be clear - most of what went on in the debate forum was not debate, it was digging in heels, trolling, and arguing) about things that have nothing to do with Subeta.

The goal isn't to make Subeta full of sunshine (as evidence by responding to a feedback forum that has positive and negative feedback) but to figure out what we want from the Subeta forums. Debating the legitimacy of sexualities (ones that users have) and various other things doesn't fall into that category, so we removed the forum.

I'm sure some people got use from it (although not many have posted here about it), but there are a lot of better places on the internet with actual debate where you can read opinions from people on those topics, Subeta just isn't the place for it anymore.

There is a big difference on talking about a TV show and talking about ethics of abortion. :)

This is not the first time that came up, and I've been posting (as was pointing out in that thread) about removing the debate forum for years.
