My high school was all marine-themed. Even the electives they offered were about the ocean and sea. I got to see the beach everyday because my school was surrounded by water. I never really appreciated it until now. I find going to the beach to be calming.

I wish I went to a high school like that. They have some here in CT but things didn't really line up for me. I wish I could see the sea every day x.x My dream house is a waterfront house with a beach on one side and a huge lawn on the other side in which I'm going to plant a bunch of cherry blossom trees so when they fall the whole yard is pink :3

Yeah I only go to the beaches here to tan/collect seashells or take the boat out to go fishing :P I would never swim in the beaches around here, eek. I hate swimming in natural bodies of water tbh. There's a lake in my town with a little manmade beach set up.. there's fake sand and lifeguards on duty but I won't go there because a kid on my bus got dared to poo in there so yeah xD Plus there's no seashells on a fake beach :(

.nena I think it's so stupid how we're expected to pick a career to follow for the rest of our lives when we've only lived a fraction of it. & k-12 is too focused on expanding your education when it should incorporate real-world experience, etc. Classes like career exploration shouldn't be electives they should be mandatory x.x

Living near the beach would be so expensive. I would love to be reach enough to own a beach home. My school had field trips to go scuba diving. We also had shark tagging field trips. I know that some classes got to go to the beach too.

I know! Especially the insurance costs for them. A lot of places flooded after the hurricane a few years ago :( Those sound like awesome field trips though! The most I've done is pet sting rays at the aquarium xD

Not really, New York is the place you go on school field trips xD I've gone to broadway two or three times and the botanical gardens before. I'm not too close to that whole thing but I was pretty close to the whole Sandy Hook incident :/

I've actually never been there. I haven't really visited many places in West Florida. :/ I've been to Siesta Key and Anna Maria Island. They are farther north than Sanibel Island.

I'm not fond of swimming in natural bodies of water. I love going to the beach at night. It's so nice to just hear the ocean. I have family that live in CT. My aunt used to live a few blocks away from the beach.

It grosses me out to no end D: Something about swimming in dissolved fish poo and whatever else makes me want to puke. I've never gone to the beach at night, I think thats ridiculous considering how much I love the beach xD But I'm not a good rule breaker I get so paranoid being places I'm not supposed to be and hearing stories of people getting locked into parks and places for the night >.< I'd freak out ahah. I've been to a dock on the lake at night but that's pretty much it :(

The towns on the coast aren't the greatest. There's Bridgeport and Stratford, etc The guy my bf just bought a car from actually got robbed at gunpoint in Bridgeport >.<

Yeah. I've heard that Bridgeport is not the safest place in the world. I prefer to go to the beach at night than during the day. There are a lot less people at night. My old lab partner is from Connecticut and she told me how CT has so many dangerous towns/cities.

I heard about the flesh eating bacteria! Wasn't that near South Carolina? I saw a video of a surfer getting attacked by a shark in South Africa. He fought it off and jet skis got him about a minute later.. The water just seems so much more dangerous than it used to D:

I remember when I was about 8 my dad took me fishing and I was standing in the water about knee deep waiting for a bite when I felt something on my foot. I screamed soooo loud everyone turned to look at me and all I did was look down, pick up a hermit crab off my foot and bring it back to my dad asking to keep it as a pet xD

& Yeah I didn't always live in the nicer part of CT. I used to live in a little melting pot of ethnicities. My parents wouldn't let me have neighborhood friends or play outside by myself ;__;

yes, the heat can be a real pain to live with even for folks like myself who have been here their entire lives. Though, I'm not sure if it's just the heat or a combination of heat and humidity that makes it atrocious to live here.

Ahh I get that. The weather in Thailand is like that. Unbearable heat combined with humidity. There's no snow there only rain and shine :p You get used to it though I guess :P & I'm doing well, how are you :)
