Hi all! [.Nena] !!

My hubby took our old kitty to the vet and had her put down today...it's pretty sad and we haven't told our daughter yet. :-(

sorry to hear that :( we had to put one of mine down in June, I still really miss him. he wasn't even old either.

It's hard! Especially since it was my daughter's cat. Plus, my battle pet is named after her. :-(

I would have named a pet after him but the name is taken and probably won't ever go ufa or become inactive. I still don't like to think about it cuz it makes me upset. he started showing signs of kidney disease and a month later, we had to put him down =/ I really miss him

It's just so hard... :-( Now I know why my mom never wanted anymore pets after our childhood pets passed.

I can understand that, but I wouldn't not want another pet. the day we put him down we adopted another cat to help us cope with his loss.

We did that too when our first rottweiler died! He was only 4 months old and we weren't ready to not have a big dog. And hard as it is I can't imagine living without a pet! Had a good bawl and I'm ok now!!

My cat was 6, we had him for ~3 years and he never seemed sick :/ he was the best cat though. I just really needed a new cat to distract me because I was really upset, still am if I think about it.

I totally get that! 6 just isn't old enough to lose a beloved pet! The vet told my hubby today that Daisy was probably more like 20, so I know she had a long life, and the part with us, she was very loved!

especially for a cat. =/ he must have had bad genetics or got into something that caused serious kidney damage. idk. I just wish there had been something we could have done but there wasn't.

From things I've read kidney issues are common in cats. It's so hard to lose a pet prematurely!

they're common in cats above the age of 10 or so. rare in a younger cat.

I'm pretty sure I was a nightmare as a kid. I never left the house or got into trouble. But I had horrible mood swings and fits. XD
