You've pung correctly, hurrah! You can click on the little megaphone icon on the top right of every post, or type @ in front of a username (no spaces), similar like how it works on facebook, twitter, etc. unless there is a special character, in which case you'd put the ping inside a square bracket with an underscore in place of any special characters (or.. just press that little megaphone button cos it's easier :9)
