No problem :) It was at the bottom of a long post so it can be easy to miss (especially on painkillers, I empathize there). Hope you feel better soon!
those were my words, but when I started here almost 4 years ago, Saggi wouldn't work for newbies for a bit (a bug). I believe it was Scarsdale (but don't quote me) who said that Saggi was known to be generous, making me feel from that moment on to be the more special quest if you get my meaning.
I've not made anything from him for days :/ Or at least anything to write home about. they've been nothing but bare scrapings :/
And no vending machine at all vends anything higher than R60? I really feel this is going to make anything above that impossible to obtain...and books becoming way more astronomical in price than they already are

Confirmed, I made all of my quests half an hour ago, 600K profit, compared to a pure loss yesterday.
He also asked for a lot less elixirs (none) and ATG items (one, i think). Most of my items were in the 11K-20K range
So far so good, Keith. I personally like the changes.
Saggi's fairly generous in its sP payment, but I feel like people still think sP = wealth.
I'm proud of you, Keith
Sound awesome, and a lot of work, so thankyou.
Glad to see it noted that Ocean Depths won't have the same R60 cap as other machines. I think it's good to cap the rarity on the other machines to maintain value of rarer items, but it would be a shame if you could only get common junk from a machine that is supposed to be a perk from completing the Omen Islands map.
Overall these look to be some great changes. Thanks for all the hard work. :)
, thanks for all of this... You work so hard to make this fun for us. You are appreciated, and the rest of the staff as well. You guys are awesome.
I hope this means that quests will be more worth our while now, and RSing as well.. have not been doing a lot of either. As for a place to put the Vend Only Items, perhaps, MC not the crystal shop.. I don't Frag enough to buy anything there. But the MC would give some fairly equal chances to be able to get those items, and a certain time of year for each.
We are the ones who remember, the ones who see what was, and is, and will be.
Me~
Goodness, you've been busy! Thanks for all your work making these changes and for the detailed update on everything. I am thrilled to see the vending rarity change happen along with the vending exclusive items being relocated. It took me some 30k vends to finally nab a Riptide a few weeks ago, so that's a lot of junk getting removed from the economy if those things are moved to new areas. :) After revising my RS strategy I've noticed a lot more profit in that area as well over the last couple days and am interested to see how things go as this new script runs over the next few weeks. The questing changes are also a godsend. Woohoo for real weekend quests again! :D
For what it's worth (since a post I wrote got quoted to illustrate otherwise), I'm perfectly happy with the current quest changes so far. Saggi gave me an overall 400k net profit even after I accepted a couple of quests I knew I should have declined, and I was able to do at least some of the quests.
Whether the changes remain beneficial a week or three from now, we'll see. But so far so good!
HOLY ECONOMICS, BATMAN. YES. Seriously, thank you for this. It's gonna annoy me in the short run, but this sounds workable long term.

"(some of them had really low weekend prizes, I have no idea why)"
I've been waiting for someone to look into weekend quest prizes. I'm looking forward to nicer quests and maybe getting back into restocking. I've been selling my hoard slowly for profit this past year but I'm finally getting to a point where I need to be a productive member of society again. :P I hope in a few days item prices start to even out some more.
(I like the suggestion to stack humming power crystals! I'm not into fragging but I would purchase them from user shops to get some of those items, if I didn't have to buy them one at a time.)
All the changes sound great. I'm looking forward to seeing how things work out. Thank you for all the hard work. :)
I'm excited to see how these changes pan out over the next few weeks as things stabilize after the Quest-A-Thon! I just did my Saggi quests and noticed a definite improvement.
One worry I have is that if all the items that are cheaper in user shops no longer stock in the main shops, won't that make restocking much MUCH easier? RSers are basically guaranteed to make at least a small profit off every item. I'm not sure if that's necessarily a bad thing, mind you. It just jumped out at me reading the OP that this system might need to be adjusted down the line.
I hope this solution works out! I vend and quest primarily so I'm hoping this actually makes vending a bit more profitable than it use to. I don't vend for the exclusive items though. Hopefully they appear in other parts of the site that I can get them from.
I hope that phrasing is simply to appease the masses and that realistically rare items will actually stock less because of the changes made a few days ago? Rare items should be... rare... They should have some inherent value because they are not widely available. Releasing so many of an item that it's not an actively "traded" item and instead one that anyone will just buy the lowest one off of shop search without trying to haggle isn't helping the economy. I've played MANY online games, some with absolutely horrid economies and some with really good, really well thought out and functional economies and I can say for sure that we need rare/super rare items to restock far less and have a better percentage of items released in these ranges to have a better functioning economy. This gives people a way to directly invest time (and skill) into something in a way that can be consistently rewarding, and should help ease some of the user tension about buying expensive items. If the restockable alternative to some csc wearable is half the price instead of 1/1000th the price people are going to have to get used to spending more money on items, and eventually you get a MUCH better flow of sP between users around the site. And after that there could be some implementation of functional sP sinks.
I understand that rares should be rare. This just means that they should come up in the system more often, so for rares (books especially) that don't come up from the pool very often because the shop has so many items - they have a little bit more of a chance to restock now :)

well your update the other day made me think things were going in a better direction (and of course today's too until I got to that one specific spot), but then I read that and panicked. I hope that even (or maybe especially) collectables and things like books are still going to restock significantly less and significantly progressively less often from r90 up. A quick search for r99 books on subeta lodge showed almost all of them ~200k and the highest only ~700k. That's quite frankly faaar tooo low, there should be at least SOME competition for buying r99 books that restocked!
We're on the same page ;) The r90+ bracket is actually stocking less often after these changes, it just means that now (with more items being benched) those items have a higher chance of being chosen to restock, but a harder "test" to pass when they get chosen. R 70-80 items will likely restock a little bit more. :)
