Sadly it makes the most sense. It's just that so few things from apothecary restock now compared to magic box stuff. Closing magic box just turned apothecary into magic box. Maybe a few elixirs could be retired to thin out the supply so dawn and those kinds of potions could get some real use.
yeah, it sucks that you cant restock boosters as frequently and as easily.
but it would suck for people who have piles of underpriced elixirs in fragging hoards and who would be seriously pissed if they became unfraggable, to go and retire things, or put them in a special shop
Staff could put out a warning for people who want to frag them. It's probably more cost effective to sell them and buy the crystals though? How many does one elixir give? How much does one crystal cost?
It's not even that I got a ton before.. I only got one or two in a few hours. Not a huge amount anyway.
Hi yes, as someone who collects elixirs and potions for a gallery, can we /not/ do this (because lol not trying to spend 200k+ on items I can restock for 60k or get for free from questing, which is honestly how I've gotten most of them), and also not this:
"this could even be achieved by retiring all elixirs and making a service where you have a drop down menu with the pet species, then another drop down menu with all available elixir colors. No item image loading needed."
Thanks, that's all, bye.
I'd prefer the idea of adding them to Decanter, but either way I definitely think they need to get taken out of the Apothecary.
Are you guys talking about Decanter of Indestructibility? Or is there some other Decanter. I'm so confused, because why are people suggesting adding things to Decanter of Indestructibility that's the most horrible thing on the site I don't ever want anything to do with it ever again.
I do agree that it would be nice to find somewhere else to put the elixirs though, as it has definitely thrown off the balance of the Apothecary in a major way. Retiring them doesn't make sense though. A specialty shop wouldn't be too bad, where they were all in stock maybe separated by pet or something? I know Subeta/Keith have wanted and tried very hard for a long time to keep the prices/values of elixirs stable, and that kind of thing would make sense. Maybe a back room at Euclid's or something? Idk.
Because we wanrt the stupid thing to be revamped.
Ahhh I'm 50/50 for this idea, I guess.
On hand A:
I don't really care that boosters aren't super easy to get in mass anymore. You can already buy a large handful of them from the Battle Shop, and the cost of tomes is so low already just restock elixirs and sell those and buy some tomes. You'll probably get more stats that way anyways? I have little pity here.
Wow is there a metric butt-ton of r86+ crap in that shop now though, like wow. Good luck getting anything cool... including the already nearly impossible potions.
Maybe we could get other cool things that'd see the light of day without 984853945 elixirs clogging the place up.
On hand B:
Maybe if there was a separate elixir-flat-rate-not-restocking elixir shop, and subetateam REMEMBERED TO BUY OUT USERSHOPS FOR ONCE INSTEAD OF NOT DOING THAT AND THEN USERS WHINING BECAUSE SO AND SO IS LOWER IN USERSHOPS then people wouldn't be able to get a color change for 40k or 5k or whatever. Not to mention the cool species always hyper inflate when a new color is released so I'd enjoy not dealing with that and having to have 03498594035 elixirs in my vault because ain't nobody got the scratch for that.
It always sucks to be a person who renames/reuses IDs verses "oh I want a new thing DITCH, MAKE A NEW ONE" because when a new species comes out I have to wait 80 years for them [elixirs] to finally drop in price while creators can enjoy new pets instantly.
Quests wouldn't ask for them anymore. Quests meaning everyone who isn't Saggi, too.
There's seriously bloodred elixirs selling for like 150-200k that's ridic.
Hopefully we'd get a new NPC out of it (or an old one can make a comeback) and maybe we'd get some cool elixirs out of it (experiment ;__;.... cherry and silver... ELIXIR ONLY COLOR WITH NO POTIONS? idk).
... I think I had more thoughts on this, but then I thought about brisket and then I forgot :'D.
THEY DON'T WANT TO MAKE CHERRY AND SILVER ELIXIRS
also no to elixir-only colors, because some of the potions onsite have the best art i mean
Unless I'm just misreading a lot of things, 7/8 of those points sounded pro moving elixirs elsewhere?
Don't really like this idea, if elixirs went to a shop like GoOutside, would anyone buy elixirs anymore? The only reason I buy elixirs is for quests. It would not be any more of an sP sink than it is now. I also generally don't like that GoOutisde isn't a restocking shop, ws mildly upset that it was just set up like an events shop, and not a permanent shop. I would be down with a new shop for elixirs and potions, but the apothecary is already a shop that sells potion type things. Sure it makes restocking boosters more of a bit more of a pain, but it's not like it is impossible.
Personally, as a battler I really hate the idea of all the elixirs restocking in the apothecary, as it reduces the chances of all the boosters and battle potions stocking in the main shops. Before the change it was fairly easy to restock a handful of the dark earth potions or the various pylonics if one choose to do so, now some of those same items rarely restock. Since the change it really seems like the entire stock of the apocalyptic apothecary has gotten buried underneath a pile of junk elixirs. Now it's nearly impossible to restock some of the old boosters that you used to occasionally find at the apothecary, so at this point I'd be all for having elixirs being in their own specialty shop.

Don't think this will happen, as we already had a separate store for Elixirs and the PTB decided do to away with it.
That said, while I'm not a fan of seeing a bunch of elixirs cluttering up the apothecary, I don't mind that boosters don't restock as often. I remember a large outcry not that long ago about Quentin giving out too many amulets and people very concerned about falling tome values, to the point where staff reduced the drop rate as requested. I guess I fail to see why it's an issue now that it's about boosters rather than amulets. Values will go up which means better resale value from boosters bought from the battle shop, which favors heavy battlers, so....?
Also, this might help raise the price of the battle elixirs and pylonics, too. Those values have been pretty low for a while now.
TL;DR I'm okay with having the apothecary all elixir-cluttered.
But but but
**yes I know these aren't rsable

TALK TO AMBER ABOUT THIS. I TRIED TO AND SHE DIDN'T LISTEN TO ME
because staff knows the way to make me shut up about issues is to just go and release ruffie dolls
I am hijacking this post to talk about the lack of cherry and silver elixirs. You'd think you'd wanna make me cry again by releasing all the current ones at once ;) That would be what...41 cherry and 41 silver. 82 at once? Oh yeah...I would be crying for days ;)

But honestly, in terms of making a separate shop...I dunno...it might be neat to have an Allard shop with the different colors as tabs and he can sell the elixirs. We all know he needs a hobby so he will stop asking for underwear. And that would definitely make it easier for me cause then I don't have to rs or wait for the prices to go down so that I can buy them for Snape (although I am not missing any rsables right now). But it also might make it too easy xD

please make destiny cry by releasing 82 elixirs and then like 48585940 lifelike dolls because she needs them for Jon's treasure chest

We aren't adding any silver or cherry elixirs. :) said a while back that we wouldn't be doing items for those.
Oh noes :( but the neelas feel so alone!

on topic though, I've still managed to rs some stat boosters since the change (even better, I never realized they restocked there lulz)... so I'm a bit indifferent to the whole change
