Well this is fun!
I don't understand the times at the very top of the grid? I understand the columns, but not the times in the grid with the single hours in each square, if you will.

- no, it's just a visual thing for the maps, as of the moment there are no plans to alter anything like that, and the cron will stay as it is now :) We set it up around Mori/Nori, as they were the original day/night indicators, and in future we may add little features that make use of the timezones, but everything existing right now is staying the same, unless we find ways/user suggestions to improve anything!
Is this JUST for the aesthetics of the map, or is it going to mess with actual site-happenings, and the subeta clock in the corner?
- Veta is the one that's the starting point/account clock, we based it on the Mori/Nori times as well as the glade being there and having times.
- The top row is relative times. So when it's 9am in Veta, it's 4pm in Saherimos :)
- I think I see now. It might be easier to understand if you do it like +/- GMT, the way real world time zones work?

- Sure, we can add that to the OP in a sec :D (Having my programmer helper work it out because timezones confuse me all of the time no matter what happens. I have like seven clock widgets running all the time :x)
do we know that Atebus is tidally locked by Subeta? It's true that Earth's Moon is, but that's another planet in a galaxy far far away.
Maybe there is a day/night cycle there, although it would be unlikely to be one Subetaday long.
Thank you! I'm relieved it's not impacting actual site function. The maps are pretty.
No one else thinks the best part of this is more than half the day's worth of time zones missing? I just hope there's land to be discovered on the other side of subeta for some day far from now :D.
I love this idea!

Is Subeta like Earth in the sense that it is tilted in its axis? And therefore has seasons and certain areas might not get as much sunlight during the year like this?
I'm just curious (you guys don't have to implement this cause it sounds painful to code and stuff).
Haha, I remember seeing the Sacred Lands night map and mentioning to a family member who also plays that really it shouldn't be night everywhere on the map at the same time. Yay for time zones!
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
- I'd /love/ for us to get more into the specifics of the world and how it physically moves/sits in the universe - Subeta has always been based on Earth for ease of design, but as time has gone on we've definitely played around with that. The Arctic Frost is certainly cold year round, but I hadn't thought about the idea of making it /dark/ for half the year. That's kind of interesting to me!
Basically, we're open to exploring what we can do to make the world feel more like a world, and we're just getting started with some basic night/day functions :)
Also (and anyone else that was interested), I've updated the OP with a +/-hr map that hopefully helps?
The night maps look lovely, well done to the artists.
It would be pretty cool if Atebus had days/nights but they lasted a month each. :P
