I try to avoid doing personal pings, mostly because I usually forget about it by the time comes and feel bad when I remember a couple days later haha, but I will be pinging my group first, probably about 24 hours before I ping anyone else (and most of the people in the group have already had the option of buying one), so that is probably your best bet! :) (don't worry I don't ping my group very often, I think I've pinged it like 7-8 times in the past two or three months lol)
