^^^ Entirely this. Plus the whole, there was nothing even wrong with the way the shops were running in the first place and now it's a huge waste of time even trying to restock anything at all. Lol.

So "tweaked" the shops and first they stopped restocking and now they "say" restocked about every 4 or 5 minutes but nothing actually gets stocked.

And the fun continues. Sigh.

I miss the old way the shops restocked so much. Like so many, my income has continued to drop and my shop is getting smaller and smaller. I have 5 days left on my GA and right now other than ha layers I'm not really seeing a reason to get another and I've had a GA since my 3rd month on subeta without stop.

Ugh :( Ironically, I was burned out on Subeta and didn't do much for a few months... now in the past couple weeks I get psyched up to work on my pets and... not making anything to do it with >X<

Every little 'fix' just breaks something more. UGH!

When people don't see a need to spend money because there's nothing interesting or useful to spend it on, it accumulates and loses value - essentially what we've seen here.

Giving people fewer things to spend money on AND less money in general isn't going to change the fact that nobody wants to buy anything, and the things people do want are either so obscenely hard to get that it's not even worth trying, or can't be bought with sP (except from user shops, which doesn't remove the money from the system.) All this entire clusterfuck is going to do, is leave the poorer users high and dry and make the richer ones even less willing to spend their money.

This whole god-forsaken mess just very obviously was not thought through at all.

Yeah I don't see anyone here trying to burn down the site. I see people here who /care/ about the site and want something to be done about what's messed up about it. Making users unhappy should not be something staff do, and yet they are and don't even seem to care about it. There is absolutely nothing fixed about this. It's one chain reaction of worse to even worse. Since restocking got changed there has literally been zero indications that our feedback even matters to anyone.

I think the best thing to do, for the time being, would be to put restocking back to the old way and instead, take a look at the bigger culprit, which is vending.

There's this cynical part of me that thinks that we're deliberately being pushed towards having to rely on vending. Cause with the shops not working, how else are we supposed to get any items?

That's exactly how I see it, since that's the only way I've been able to make any sP at all. And don't mention questing because I barely hit 1-2 million sP from questing now.

I can't believe how bored I am on Subeta without restocking...I didn't realize how many hours a day I spent on here questing until it was basically taken away. I went on hiatus a while ago and came back solely because I missed restocking & fragging. At this rate, if the only thing I find enjoyment out of on here is CWs I'm going to get really bored, really quickly, and with a site with SO much to do, that's really sad...

Sure glad we have minion battling now though to hold us over until everything is finally fixed!!! /sarcasm

The 63 Subeta Dictionary II's aren't looking so promising now, but I only hope this is because the shops were not cleared before resetting it to its old format.

Thank you so much for making this change. Yes, restocking can be improved, but I think we should carefully look at how to better stabilize the economy before making quick decisions. Perhaps it can start with another look at vending?

It could be because shops were not cleared before the changes were made. Thus, items keep on piling up.

I'm not sure how often the shops clear but hopefully it should reset itself soon.

As for the "lots of items" thing, I personally think it won't make that big of a difference temporarily. After all, cheap items will still be cheap (just like they were before), and if there's a worthwhile item that stocks in any sort of bulk, I'm sure it'll be bought up quickly.

So many shops, I can hardly pick which one to sit in! Oh wait, yes I can, Rathskeller, here I come!

Didn't the zillions of items in stock start happening after Keith started "fixing" restocking? I thought it was reversed to prior to that time?

Thank you so much, both for reverting restocking while the data/system is reviewed and for clarifying the earlier statement. It looks like the item quantities are still being impacted by some of the post-revamp code (some items have had 200+ in stock at times), but there is much more diversity in NPC shop inventory now than what there has been of late too. I'm not sure it's been fully reverted and may need another quick look, but this is a huge improvement for the time being (and the extra supply could really help even out a few overly inflated prices from the recent lack of stock plus the shop search glitch, so as long as it doesn't go on too long that may be a good thing).
