I used to be more of an Xbox person, mainly because Of the Halo Series, but I converted over to Playstation because of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Destiny. Plus, I love the exclusives x_x.
I've always preferred PlayStation over Xbox. Maybe because I grew up with a PS1.
I always thought the PS exclusives are far more interesting than Xbox exclusives. I'm not big on online gaming and I don't like FPS games, which has been Xbox's focus over the years. Plus, the PS has the 2nd best controller ever. (Gamecube controller is better.)
I own an Xbox One and an Xbox 360 but I actually prefer Playstation, I think the graphics are a lot better, and I'm kinda tired of paying for my Xbox membership. I don't even play multiplayer, but if I don't have the membership I can't watch Netflix, so...
I have Xbox One and PS4 and its my job to sell both consoles.
On a selling point, there isn't much difference between the two at the moment. In terms of hardware capabilities anyway, the argument on fps vs 1080p is grasping at straws. People often come in sitting on the fence, what it comes down to is exclusive titles and I hate to say it but 'what are your mates playing?' We have marketing for Microsoft and Sony on either side of the room and you can often gauge what people really want by their body language and what side of the room they gravitate towards. Marketing definitely has a part to play.
All that being said, I prefer Xbox. Mainly because i have a good gamerscore I wanted to carry over from the 360. Being a completionist isn't an easy habit to give up.
