I have basically 0 interest in pet slots, but I would participate in something like that, if it meant other people could get pet slots and I could get a nice shiny trophy/achievement or summat Sounds like a very cool idea.

I&;m also not very interested in pet slots, but I would 100% participate in something like this as well. This has my support.
I don't think either of us said we weren't interested in pets. :/ I just have no need for more pet slots since the ones I have aren't filled, so... I'm not interested in them. And I'm also pretty sure that Subeta's the community I'm interested in, but thanks for trying to direct me elsewhere anyway, I guess.
I would think the fact that I support increased pet slots would be what's important about my post, but I'll say it again: I support more pet slots for those who would happily use them, and I'd love to unlock them by some community activity thing. :)
not being interested in pet slots DOES NOT MEAN not interested in pets
that's like saying you're not interested in kids because you dont want 47 kids.
Who doesn't want 47 kids tho...
In all seriousness, I would love pretty much any way to get more pet slots. I like the idea of a sitewide sP sink, with the prize being a loyalty box. In case there aren't people interested in pet slots, but still want to participate. Users who dumped at least X amount would qualify for a loyalty box?
I don't know how many people have the 2k users online achievement, but something like that could maybe be done again too. Again, the prize could be a loyalty box instead of a pet slot totem.
I probably don't need more pet slots (seeing as how I'm just barely starting to make measurable progress on the profiles of the ones I already own) but I would love to have the option to create/adopt more pets anyway. Even just one or two more slots through achievement/plot prizes would be nice.
Agreed.
If someone's mentality is "why do you even play the site if you don't play it the same way as me", I don't want anything to do with them.
I may not agree all the time with , but he has seriously a good grasp on basic economics and I like reading his posts about Subeta, because there is meat around the bone. I have something worthwhile to read and I was really, really pleased to see his ping earlier, and I was even more pleased to see why I was pinged!
tldr, I like seeing people like Mike around. Because he sees things differently and more opinions, more experience is always good.
Pet Slots: 47/47
Um. shifty eyes
Sitewide events are fun, but if the servers can't handle it (imagine missing out on a loyalty totem because the site was down/lagging all to hell) so I'd rather be able to buy more slots from the Cash Shop and have the money go to the Server/Recode Fund.
Make it as expensive as you want - I'll buy it! $100 per slot? Done. Subeta gets money, everyone wins. I know I'm not the only one willing to drop cash for this. Why this hasn't been implemented is baffling, honestly.
Some of us are mad for avatars, some are mad for pets. But we all love Subeta!
We're talking long term events, not something that's like, 24 hours long.
I actually haven't maxed out all my csc slots yet. I have 38 pets so I've used 2 so far out of a total of five, but it's partially because I'm not constantly buying csc as much as I used to in the past. That said, I'm pretty much always up for more pet slots simply because in general I'm that person who always ends up choosing pet slot in their loyalty box and likely will eventually use up all 5 of the csc slots. I'm just slow in getting them all.
As for pet slots in general, I was on the first time they did the 2k pets online and while it was nice to get a pet slot out of the mix I don't think the site could do an event like that again. The first time that happened, it ended up breaking the site and I'd rather not see the site borked again. XD I mean a short lived event like have x amount in one day or something of that nature, but I could see bonus slots, as others like and have stated for long term events being awarded though.
I understand the site wants revenue and pet slots in general is always a fairly easy source of revenue for the site simply because it's always in demand, but I'm with the crowd who would like to see more site participation and pet slots is a good way to get people involved in the site.
I know not everyone will be interested in more pet slots (much like not everyone is interested in CWs, or battling, or whatever) - that's what makes Subeta fun, in that not everyone likes the same stuff (wouldn't it be boring if everyone here liked exactly the same things as everyone else?!)
The idea of having the community achievement kind of thing where there's a pet slot totem for us doing a total of 1,000,000 quests in however long, sounds like a good middle-ground, as there's the incentive for "pet slot people" and also the incentive for achievement / trophy people if it had a nice little shiny trophy for people who completed it :)

Also, to people who are saying that pet slots are almost always paid, except for an exception or two.
I'm pretty sure I got like, 12 or 14 free pet slots. At least 7 from loyalty boxes, one from the 2000+ event and I think 6 free slots from slot increases due to pet slot price change?
That's a lot of slots I didn't have to pay for. The argument of "pet slots is csc only weh" doesn't...really work to me.
A community thing may be good but I still don't know if it'd fly as I've yet to see free, non-CSC pet slots. Has staff done free pet slots in tbe past? Cuz if so, it would be nice. As long as everyone who participated, whether it's 1 time or 1 million times, gets the same amount of pet slots :)

And right above you...
I myself have 7 from loyalty boxes, one from the 2000+ event and at least two from price changes. Lets see...10 from regular and GA slots. 10 extra from the original pet plushies. (=20) 15 from the new pet slots (=35) 7 from loyalty boxes (=42) 2 from price changes (=44) And from the 2000+ event
so yeah 10 totally free (unless you count the extra 5 from the GA as free...

If it's being handled like that I'm 100% for challenges of this kind to happen. I like questing and restocking, but I hate playing games but even those I would play to win a Loyalty Box. XD

Some people like to collect things - beanbags, plushies, trading cards, minions. Some people just like dressing their avatar, some just want to battle. Not everyone wants to hoard 5m pets. Personally I only ever wanted one pet. Fuck knows why I now have 15 and I always feel like pounding like half my pets. But then I got too attached to -most- of them =/ Anyway I support more pet slots especially if they are tied into some plot/event ^_^
^
like see which team can get to 1 mil quests first gets the pet slot?
oh lawdy.
Nah, in my mind, only quests giving quest points should count. Meaning, no Major, no Battle and I'm even dubious on Carl. Anyway, I let Carl Quests out of my calculations when I did simulations.
I also am not fond of it being a team thing, because I don't think someone could bandwagon, do 10 quests, and get all of the rewards (HELLO BATTLE OF THE BANDS FIASCO). I want something that would get everyone to do something together, and have all of the effort invested towards that, not half of the effort spent on doing the activities, and the other half on trashing the other team on the forums.
Yeah I feel you on only quest point giving quests (I'm just saying, like when I actually do them I do all the quests, to put in that effort on a team thing and still not get a pet slot because I picked the wrong team, that's just shitty)
No teams. Teams pick sides, cause conflicts, and leave winners and loosers. TEAMS ARE ANTI COMMUNITY.
Either we can all be winners, or we can all be losers-- and if we all lose THEN we can start pointing fingers at who's fault it is. No teams please, not for something like this-- actually I much prefer the idea of community wise goal events than team based events in general really.
PS: Subeta clearly agrees, +1 forum point xD
