Does this only get counted if you accept someone's friend request and not if you request to be someone's friend? Or else mine isn't getting counted. I needed 18 more to go to reach 50 and I have been accepted by 13 people as friends and have accepted 5 friend requests but my achievement is only showing 35/50. Maybe it is just taking time to catch up, I don't know. Is anyone else having this problem?

Have you looked on your friends list? Mine only gets updated when I go to look at it.
