I know there are a ton of great food blogs and websites out there, but I was getting overwhelmed from reading so much text. Thus I am turning to you guys to help me find healthy meal ideas!

This will be given to one lucky person via a randomized drawing. Additional prizes will be given out to random participants as well. This giveaway will end Thursday, April 2nd at 11:59 p.m. subeta time.

Rules:

  1. Post a link to a healthy recipe that uses ingredients that most people on a small budget would have already (ie: no fancy herbs/spices like tahini, rice wine vinegar, truffles, etc). It could be a main dish or side. NO SALAD. Don't worry about my likes/dislikes since I will be sharing recipes with my friends & family.
  2. Ping a friend :)

Additional Prizes: [item=Experiment Beanbag] (more prizes may be added depending on number of entries)

I can't wait to see what everyone shares!

My most recipes i used they are in Germany. So i dont can Post a link. I will Post you my most Loved Recipe here with a Photo from www. I hope it is okay.

Chickpea curry

Ingredients • 1 tbsp oil or olive oil • 1 onion, chopped • 1 garlic clove, crushed • ¼ tsp salt • 2 tsp Curry Powder • ¼ tsp red chilli powder if you like chilli. • 1 fresh tomato, chopped • 1 x 400g/14oz can chickpeas, drained and rinsed • brown rice, potatoes or whole wheat bread, to serve.

How to cook

  1. Heat a deep saucepan or a medium sized wok and add the oil or butter followed by the onions and garlic. (When you want you can also give Chicken in this Meal).
  2. Fry the mixture till the onions are caramelised. Then add the salt, Curry Powder and red chilli powders. Mix for a minute and tip in the tomato. Cook the sauce until it begins to thicken.
  3. Add ¼ cup of water and stir. Then tip in the chickpeas and mix.
  4. Cover and simmer for five minutes. (Sometimes i give 6tsb of sour cream in this) Cook for another minute.
  5. Serve with brown rice, potatoes or whole wheat bread.

You can also add some vegetables if you love. I lovt it sometimes whith carrots and broccoli

I cook a lot with legumes. They taste delicious, you can combine them well, they are satisfying, healthy and inexpensive.

Thx for the Ping hun do you have good recipes`?

I've lost over 10 pounds and I'm hoping to lose 10 more to be at my ideal weight.

Here's an entire cookbook called Good and Cheap: Eat Well on $4/Day. If I had to pick one recipe I'd go with the Mexican Street Corn. I have my corn on the cob with butter and I've always wanted to try it like this. Just click on the titles in the Table of Contents since all the recipes are linked. Thanks for hosting this. :)

Know any healthy and cheap recipes?

I don't know if a 'healthier' version of a dessert would be of interest, but if it is I know a link to a mini-apple pie made in an apple (and I rather suspect if you wanted to you could skip the topping to make it even healthier). Link: Apple Pie in an Apple
