Goodness, I wish I could afford commissions right now! I love space. Nebulae, galaxies, you name it.. My favorite Hubble images have always been of the Orion Nebula and NGC 602 in the Small Magellanic Cloud. I've wanted to combine these two images for SO LONG, especially for a tattoo later down the road. If I have the funds in a couple more weeks, I'd so very much love to have a commission done. T_T Can't wait to see what others get done, though! <3

Hi! Thank you, that would be wonderful! Those images are to die for... drools No doubt I've seen them numerous times in my life as they seem all too familiar. How do you envision combining them? Now I'm curious! I've seen some really lovely cosmos tattoos out there btw - I hope you achieve that. ^-^ edit: (By the way I might add on the topic of tattooing... I recently took up learning this craft, so maybe we can come up with a design that is organic and wearable for your skin when you are ready!)

I'm not entirely sure how I'd combine them, but as far as a tattoo goes--for starters, it'd be a cover-up. Full bolero-styled upper back/shoulder/upper arm piece. I have a large Simba tattooed on my left shoulder, and a very poorly done, very faded Leo zodiac tattoo on my spine. I intend on getting Simba redone elsewhere, and much smaller, as he takes up 90% of my left shoulder.. So the cosmic one, I wanted to try covering up my zodiac with a Norse knotwork-styled Yggdrasill ("tree of life") with the Nine Realms in the center. From there, somehow have the two Hubble images as the "background" of the bolero. If I was any good at drawing, I'd tried to sketch it out, but I suck at these things. XD

Ooo! Well I definitely love where you are going with that - and especially the idea of incorporating Yggdrasill in there. Sounds so pretty. I can partially envision it myself. It definitely sounds like a large tattoo and no doubt a good artist could piece that together for you. If I were a bit more adept I could probably figure that out but I almost feel like you'd have to see someone in person, hence to see your placement of old tattoos etc for coverup! Which I'm sure you were planning to do :P But still - if there's any ideas you end up having that might be something I can kick out, let me know ^_^;

I do have a local artist in mind, and I've briefly spoken with him before about it, but he charges somewhere around $160-200/hr for larger pieces like that.. but his space work is so damn gorgeous, and worth it. ^_^; But I will absolutely let you know! Even if not for tattoo designing, I'd still love to be able to commission you for a profile image or something! <3

That's awesome! At least you have someone in mind you could trust with that theme. I don't know if many tattoo artists can pull off space scenes, but maybe I'm mistaken? Thinking about tackling that myself sounds daunting, and I paint them both digitally and traditionally! But hopefully one day in the future I come back to you and say "Melanie"... (i cheated and looked at your profile xD) ... "I finally learned how to tattoo space scenes." haha!
