I'm sorry if this is user error instead of a bug, but it's confusing me--
During Survival, I payed and signed up to get infected with Organic, Revealing (Blistered Hearts). I let it progress for a little while. At some point, I decided to try out one of the Vials, which I read was temporary and would heal itself, and wouldn't interfere with any actual zombie skins.
Well, it's been quite a while now; Blistered Hearts should have progressed to a late stage, I think. But on the "Skins" page in the beta wardrobe, Blistered Hearts isn't an option at all. And my HA still has the vial infection, with no signs of it wearing off on its own.
Was I misinformed about the nature of the vials? (This was my first Survival spent active on the site.) Or is there some kind of bug? Is there any way to go back to Blistered Hearts now that the holiday is over?
Thanks!
The vials were released last year when there weren't any permanent zombie skins to progress through, they didn't interfere with people who already had zombie skins at the time. So my guess is, the vial probably overrode your Blistered Hearts, unfortunately :x Imo it shouldn't have, but since people were able to get infected with the vials if they chose the random infection, that's probably what happened.
There's no way to go back and get reinfected with Blistered Hearts but if you file a ticket they might be able to help you out. I would think they could give it to you since you did pay for it :x
The vials take about a week to fully progress + go away on their own, you're not on the final stage currently so it looks like yours might be fading, depending on how long you've had it.
I wish I knew the date I took it, but I think it was about a week ago... Bah. Thanks, I'll file a ticket after waiting a bit. (Maybe if the vial goes away on its own, the zombie skin will reappear? ...Probably not, I guess...)
You don't have it showing under the vial, and you should I think, if it was going to come back :c
I'm assuming since you didn't let your original Blistered Hearts virus progress to it's final stage, taking the vial actually cancelled it's progression and overrode it.
It wouldn't have if you have the full virus, I would think, but that wasn't the case.
Do you think it's not worth filing a ticket, then, if it was due to my misunderstanding of how vials work?
To be honest, filing a ticket will probably get you some where even though they might just tell you what everyone else has already said but they could give you the virus back, even though it was mistakenly over-rid.
Also if you have the unlocked skin of a zombie virus taking a vial will just layer on top of your base without curing/interfering with it. It only cancels out progressing strains!

I think I have the same zombie skin problem, but I did NOT take a vial. I signed up for a random free skin and asked to be bitten by Carchari zombies. I was infected, although not necessarily bitten, I didn't really pay attention to the timescale. The event ended a couple of days later and I covered up ready for masquerade and waited to get the event that I'd unlocked whatever skin I had ended up with, having realised it wasn't Carchari. I have now noticed that my infection is healing itself, and have discovered that I have been infected with Lotus from the 2014 zombies. I am 100% positive I didn't drink a vial, so can only assume that Subeta has glitched me an unlockable skin. Is this worth reporting or is it just my tough luck that Subeta farted on my attempt to get another zombie skin?
It was possible to get the vial infections through the random option, so no that's unfortunately not a bug.
I still think you should file a ticket, personally. I mean, yeah you made the mistake but you did also pay for a virus you never got and it's possible that was an oversight on staff's part. You don't have anything more to lose in this situation.
Drat. Sounds like a real stupid and unfair thing to do but I guess I just gotta live with it. Thanks for letting me know.
I agree with Darkrai! Filing a ticket won't hurt.
