Do you mean people with Custom overlays for their pets? I'm not too sure which special colours you might be referring to u_u; SubetaLodge has a lot of helpful info for the pet colours, for you to start off with :)

Yes, depending on the colour, you can either get an elixir (for the specific pet/colour combo) or a potion (for any species), or some colours like galactic/glade/nostalgia have special ways to get each and every one (depending on the colour)
