I totally approve of fawning over Balem / Eddie. 8D
Now I'm gonna see Christian Bale combined with Salem for some reason until I see Jupiter Ascending. /cries

I really really extremely want:Congrats on the name change! :) I haven't seen the movie, but that man has such an exotic face. ❤
congrats on the new name :) And as for "so bad it's good" sci-fi....I'm a sucker for it too. And as for Resident Evil...I have a deep seeded fear of zombies (seriously, like have nightmares about them regularly), but watched Resident Evil (and all its sequels) because they were so much fun! Well, that and Milla. Loves me some Milla!
That gif is hilariously obscene, lmao. Congrats on the name change.

Bahaha, that pic. ❤ Congrats on the name, and right there with you on that movie. Beautiful space candy, just don't pay the story any attention.
Awesome, thanks for letting me know! & congrats on the name change!! :D
THANK YOU EVERYONE for the congratulatory messages! :D
@ searchname resident evil isn't very scary, barring a couple of jump scares and one sequence that I, uh, think is what the series is best remembered for. then the series becomes more and more action-oriented with each sequel to the point that zombies are kind of an afterthought. I have watched neither version of tron.
@ lovegood gosh, prior to last week, there was speculation that jupiter ascending could ruin his chance of winning the oscar because of how bad his performance or the film -- or both, even -- was. yay, WATCH IT. it is my mission to get more people to watch jupiter ascending because I'm as ridiculously in love with that movie as that movie is ridiculous.
@ alenwen nooo. what didn't you like about it?
@ lia yES OMG. that series is such a guilty pleasure and even though I utterly disliked the last instalment, I will DEFEND IT TO THE DEATH because milla and the first film. and yasss ultraviolet was so terrible.
@ karenp at this point I don't know what to think about it either haha
@ murph ooh, christian bale combined with salem? what film is that? by the way, I LOVE the colours on your avatar!! such pretty shades of purple
@ julie yeah, definitely! now I can have appropriate GIFs in my signature, haha, and this is also my first fandom-related name change. :)
@ colours spongebob knows what's up
@ elethia I think it's the styling that's making him look so chiselled! (and kind of strangely so. maybe I've been staring at that picture for too long.) this is what he usually looks like:

@ shae yay another resident evil and milla fan!! oh dear, I'm sorry to hear about the zombie nightmares.
[edit] ping limit why do you exist
haha, as far as I can remember, I've changed my username once every year since I joined. I was first equustel, then Elsa (whoo real name club), then medusa, and now balem. it's also my first fandom-related name (so is equustel, kind of, since it's from my favourite book, the darkangel but I've been using that username almost everywhere for over a decade so it doesn't really count as a obsession-of-the-moment kind of thing like this). :D

you know, I've seen so many variations of that spongebob licking GIF, I don't even remember what the original scene was about.
ooh yes, it's such a beautiful film, isn't it? I just adore the costumes and the different alien designs.
no problem! how have you been, bb? it's been so long since I've seen you on here!
😅 I don't even know how to describe it XD The fighting scenes were too long in my opinion and so messy sometimes (for example when they tried to escape with the flying shoes). And then the story. There are really good basics for a perfect story, but there wasn't enough time to go into detail in just one movie. They should have made a tv series out of it maybe ;) The situation with the 3 siblings.. why does she meet one after another and what happens to them? Okay we know what happens to Balem, but at the end of the movie I suddenly thought of the other 2. Every sibling is like one chapter, because it's a totally different story with each of them. Everything is incomplete^^ - just my opinion :D
Omg... you have a point. XD

Thank youuuuuu! n__n
Actually, there is no movie with Christian Bale and Salem as far as I'm aware, but uh I just thought Bale + Salem = Balem. Idk why. My mind is weird sometimes. :P GOTTA GO SEE JUPITER ASCENDING SO I CAN UNSEE THAT THING OKAY.
Yes!The costuming and palaces and all were just great. But sometimes I'm perfectly willing to accept a mediocre story if it's pretty to look at :D You're so right about the chapters with each sibling. I wanted to have so much more about each of them, see more of their power struggles, etc. The story actually had a lot of potential, just needed way more screentime to actually explore it all!
Yes exactly :) I wanted to know alot more about the harvesting thing, about the family, immortality, the side characters!, the residents of the galaxy... Some scenes looked wonderful (the bathtub, the wedding, the planets and the bees) and Balem did a great job in his role, but that's already all of it XD
Congrats on the name change! I actually sort of enjoyed Jupiter Ascending even though some of it was absolutely awful XD Eddie was brilliant, while everyone else was really quite crap. I couldnt stand the woman who played Jupiter, she was so awkward and annoying XD I saw it in 4D, and with all of the flying and space scenes, it was like sitting on a stationary roller coaster lol

I did not expect kingsman: the secret service to be so good! the poster (which I saw almost every day at work, because of a promotion we were running prior to its release) made it look rather goofy, like it was a kiddie take on the spy genre. then I saw the trailer (which coincidentally played before jupiter ascending -- SERENDIPITY), and it immediately jumped to the top of my must-watch list. haha oh, where do I even begin with jupiter ascending. bees! space dynasties! animal-human hybrids! mommy issues! it's such a chaotic mish-mash of so many elements, and it revels in its weirdness, which I truly enjoyed.
I feel you on how the abrasax siblings were handled. I read somewhere that their parts were akin to video game bosses in that she met them one by one, and then they were never heard of again. and yes, there was just so much of its universe to unpack! for example, I found myself really wanting to know more about the ship captain and her crew. I swear, if they ever released any companion materials to the film (e.g., books, comics, etc.), I'd so get them in a heartbeat.
OH OKAY, haha. yes yes yes I cannot stress how much you need to watch it. 😆
ooh, I can't imagine what it would've been like in 4D! that would've been such a feast for the eyes, especially the space scenes. heh, barring eddie's, the performances on the whole were kind of so-so? and like, I was fairly turned off by titus, even though they were trying to portray him as the sexy, sensitive sibling.
