I'm trying to work toward the Infection Expert achievement, but 100 bites is an awful lot. We're only a day into Survival and almost everyone is already infected. At this rate, I don't see more than a handful of people getting the achievement. I understand that some achievements are rarer than others, but this seems ridiculously hard.

My suggestion is this: make it so that we can bite infected players who have a different strain from our own. So for example, as an Eyesore zombie, I couldn't bite any other Eyesores, but I could bite Heartburn or Butterfly Bruise zombies, changing them into Eyesores.

They would also keep their stage when they changed, so that they don't have to start from scratch; A stage 4 Eyesore would become a stage 4 Heartburn.

That's how it was during the very first pandemic, and it would make the achievement a whole lot more achievable (though it would still be a lot of work).

There could still be an opt-out for anyone infected with a strain they want to keep. Something that says "I like my strain, so stop biting me." That would keep people from getting frustrated with constant changes, and would keep some of the challenge so it doesn't become a total free-for-all.

Is this reasonable?

I already have 130 bites in less than 24 hours.

Only if those of us who paid for a specific strain automatically opt out. And if they change their mind later, then they can choose to opt in. I paid 750k for mine because I want it specifically. I would assume the same goes for everyone else who didn't select random.

First, I was helped by having a desirable strain. But I saw people ask for your strain, so don't worry, I don't think it will be that bad for you. Eyesore is in demand.

What I did is that I made a thread in the event forum where I did keep track of EVERYONE with my strain as well, and kept an eye on other boards where people asked for my strain. I think I have three or four boards I'm tracking, aside from mine. So, I just bit everyone who needed it on these boards.

Also, a lot of people are going to go and switch strains as soon as they can and attempt to get another one, once they unlock the skin they want. We have two weeks, and I think most people are going to attempt to unlock 2 skins. It's possible with the time frame we have.

Also, if this feature comes back (and i hope it does and i see no reason why it wouldn't come back), well, you will probably have more than one year to do it.

I am a little worried about getting this achievement, being a new zombie and having to wait 3-4 days until I reach a stage where I can bite but I still don't like this idea :L

Oooh, another poor Eyesore...! I'm having trouble now, too, I have bitten 52 people so far but see less and less wanting that strain. Maybe we should start a thread together :P (mine went unnoticed :/ )

We could invest in canibalism. Brain is brain, right? Even rotten .. I don't know if it's hard to get the achievement since I picked a new strain and it's long to get my final stage, but a lot of folks are already infected ..

And you'd still have to get to the final stage to fully unlock the skin for your wardrobe. I think final-stage zombies were sent back 2-3 stages if they were bit during the first pandemic, so that wouldn't make it to easy to unlock all the skins. That, or make people un-biteable once they hit the final stage, unless they cure and start again?

I also think 100 is a lot :/ But if this method stays in place for at least one or two future years (and we're able to collect more zombie skins this way), it's likely it will be achievable. Also, if we can get more than one strain per year! Maybe someone wants Boobitis and Eyesore, but went for Boobitis first -- they'll still need Eyesore bites on the second half of the event c:

I'm not sure about changing other people's infections, since I'd hate to pay 1m to get an skin and end up getting another one. If anything I guess the option for not getting bites should be on by default. But if you already chose the skin you wanted, I don't see why you'd want to get bitten an change it?

But yeah, I think something needs to be changed. The achievement may be obtainable for those who are already zombies, but it seems the ones who weren't zombies and chose a 2015 strain don't have much chance. I mean, mostly everyone will be already infected once we get to the final stages, and since people can chose the new strains and get them automatically, I don't think we'll have any people to bite.

Idk, as an achievement addict, I hate when achievements are pretty much unobtainable as soon as they come out :c

So my biggest issue with biting (which has already been mentioned) is that people who weren't previously infected aren't really going to have a chance to get the achievement. I opted in the first day. I've been infected since two hours? after Survival started. I have yet to see anyone I can bite (not that I can bite anyone at this stage anyway). So basically once I reach the stage where I can infect people, are there really going to be people left to infect?

I wish we could still bite people who are already infected (of the same strain, of course! I chose this for a reason). Maybe getting bit more times during the progression can up the chances of it speeding up progress?

If biting sped up the infections, I'd definitely just sweet talk others who were a day ahead of me on a new strain into biting me up to par with them. Kind of doesn't seem reasonable if all it takes is a biting loop to speed things along.

However, as someone who did willingly choose to try a new strain, I also agree that this achievement, if unchanged, will be pretty improbable for those of us who ventured steadfastly into the unknown. See? That makes us seem brave. Like heroes. Heroes deserve some pity for their valor...
