I would also like to see the battle news page updated. I don't battle much but I usually have to DIG in the admin posts feed to find any kind of battle related news from the battle admins.
When the battle news page hasn't been updated in a year and a half it makes me feel like I've found some sort of old abandoned project and that no one battles, but that's not the case.
Beginner's guide doesn't make as much sense to me cuz if you read it once and understand it, you don't really ever need to go back there. The majority of battlers would find that that as a default page would be useless I'd think
I'd rather them just do away with the news page altogether and go straight to the challengers, but with links to beginner's guide, battle forums, and battle-related news/announcements (during events) at the top of the page where they can easily be seen. That way people who need help are quickly and easily guided to it, and people who are ready to battle can just go for it.
I agree but no matter what veteran battlers aren't really going to stop to read. I think it'd at least serve a purpose that way ya know, especially for new battlers who are probably the only ones who'd stop and read anyhow.. Having battle news posted on the main news and then again their doesn't seem any more helpful to me. But then again I don't ever even see that page, I get to the BC through the battle pet sidebar widget link to the armory page.
Ah I use the widget too, but I go to the main page, not the armory. The challenger page makes the most sense if they were to scrap the news page.
I dunno, if I was a newbie scrolling through sacred lands and clicked the battle coliseum only to see a huge page full of not so scary looking monsters I'd be a little overwhelmed :P. It wouldn't be terrible but meh.
The number of newbies compared to the number of people who battle though. And once the newbie battles a few times and gets the hang of it.
There is a link to the beginner guide already, the main page should be the most frequented page, the challenger page
