After taking Keith's advice I began a new thread - Slap a Sticker On the Person Above You - as the old one had 3900+ pages and was taking over an hour for a post to show up.

This new thread (which was working well) was locked by a moderator and we were sent back to the original thread - http://subeta.net/forums.php/read/5604/Slap-a-sticker-on-the-person-above-you.

The same problems are still occurring which is most frustrating and means that you can easily miss out on having a sticker stuck to you. Many of enjoy slapping stickers to our friends on Subeta so could this please be looked into.

The Lair Bears (Laurie's Lair) had an issue with a too-big thread over at Small Talk and were allowed to make a new thread because of the same issues 'Slap a sticker' has. Why OK for one and not another? The reason is not that there are several sticker threads as no sticker thread is the same. On 'Slap a sticker' you can stick any sticker you like. On 'Slap a Sticker on the User Above V.2!' the sticker stuck should be one the person needs. And 'Collaboration Sticker Sticking Board!' is a board where people are willing to take a persons' trade lot of stickers and stick them.

- Thanks for posting. Let's hope this get's fixed soon.

I did reach out to the mini-mod but was told - "threads aren't supposed to break no matter how big they get". Which is obviously not the case. The thread - "Slap-a-sticker-on-the-person-above-you" - is taking well over a hour to actually post every time I try to add a post.

Yes! Thank you, ! I gave up on posting on that broken thread, I just got so angry since I have lost a lot of stickers that should've been meant for me and probably have given a sticker to the wrong user. It's ridiculous to wait an entire hour for my own post to even appear on the thread. Maybe this time the mini-mods would be so kind and allow us to keep the new thread and lock the old one, since that one actually worked!

Thanks for pinging me here.

The old thread is obviously still broken. I have yet to time how long it takes for my posts to show up, but it is over an hour. That is a reason I haven't frequented the thread as much lately.

Another thing I noticed on the old thread, is that I have not been receiving notifications for all the pings that I received there. I received the notifications for two of the pings I received after all the problems started occurring on the thread but not for the two to three others times I was pinged.

Thanks for the ping. Hopefully we get a new thread soon as nobody wants to post on a thread that is obviously broken.

thanks for the ping to this thread! I had to give up on the old thread when my posts weren't showing up for ages and were clearly being missed.

Also, claiming on (and , ahaha, you got in there before I hit post on my post).

, , , , - it's very disappointing to see that nobody has addressed this issue. I'm not sure who we would ping to try to get this fixed or at this point would it just be easier to start another new thread and let Tanya know that since nothing has been done we decided to start a new thread so we can all get back to Slapping Stickers?

Her comment to me was, "Now if I had been asked about this before hand? I'm sure we could of come to some sort of middle ground".

What does everyone think?

Then we should find the "middle ground", whatever that's supposed to mean. Though locking the thread because you didn't tell her beforehand is super strange (especially since Chook had taken Keith's advice when starting the new one??)

I will ping the 2 mods of this thread and see what happens.

Could one of you please help us? See first and other posts.

not really sure what she means by middle ground. Maybe she could unlock Chook's last thread and we could continue using that one. Thanks for pinging the mods.

The 'middle ground' doesn't exist - our old thread is broken, because it's a huge thread and Subeta's forums are not always the greatest, so we need a new thread. Having the new one closed out of the blue and being told to go back to the old unusuable one is a pretty ridiculous way to mod something, it's like being stuck on a lake and building a paddle of out of driftwood, only to have it taken away and replaced with one of those foam pool noodles.

Hopefully we can get some kind of new thread, or get the one that Chook made unlocked. It's impossible to use the original one, so that's not an option.

I'm really upset that this matter hasn't been dealt with quicker. The Slap a Sticker thread is not only a vibrant community, but a place to welcome new or shier players and have a place where you can exchange stickers. Isn't that what the sticker system is all about, communicating with friends? Having no place to do it is upsetting, especially after we have obviously loved the thread so much that it's basically unresponsive.

I've seen other circumstances when larger threads like the Slap a Sticker thread have become unresponsive and in the other cases, new threads were allowed. I don't see why it is a problem to at least unlock the thread that made.

Please, Subeta Team, fix this. It may look like a small instance, but it all adds up in the end.

One thing Tanya had mentioned on the new thread before she locked it was that there were multiple sticker threads and that the old one was still active....however, at that time the old thread was very broken and not working properly even if people were still posting on it. Also there are only three active sticker threads that are each different (see next paragraph). The simple thing would be to lock the old thread and unlock the new one.

One sticker thread that is active has the requirement of sticking the person above you with a sticker that is not in their album, and the other has a list of people you can ping that will stick you with stickers that you send them to stick to you. Both of those are different from the Slap a Sticker.

Before I found the Slap a Sticker thread, I rarely posted on the forums. Maybe during site events, but that was it. Now I'm posting a bit more frequently and always visiting the forums whenever I come across an error on the site. I was checking this morning to see if staff had posted on here and there was nothing new. I hope a solution comes soon.

Thanks -- I, too, had kind of given up. I'm a patient gal, but an hour for a pageload is a little much.

- that's a great point, I wish I would have thought of mentioning that to Tanya when I smailed her about locking the new thread. Hopefully someone will look into this today and realize it's really a simple fix we are looking for.

I hope this gets resolved or at least looked into today too. I've got stickers sitting in my inventory just waiting to be stuck to someone and I rather not go back to the old thread and hope that I'm sticking it to the right person.

Something I really like about the Slap a Sticker thread is that is seems really laid back. You don't have to go through a sticker album to find out what stickers a user already has, but you can if you want to. There are times I'll search through someone's sticker album to see if I have a sticker that they don't have yet sitting in my inventory and other times I just stick a random one to a user.

I just realized after seeing the news post about the new items in the Forum Shop that I have not received a raffle ticket since the forums broke and definitely have not received one from the broken slap a sticker forum. I'm guessing that with it taking over an hour to actually post there no chance of getting a random raffle ticket. Has anyone else received one?

Also does anyone else know of anyone else who could help us since we have not heard from Reya or Destiny?

It's beyond getting frustrating not hearing anything!

I can't remember if I got any forum points when I posted on one of the many Problems & Bugs threads after the forums broke and other issues were starting to appear around the site. I think the latest forum point I got was before the forums broke, though. I for sure have not gotten one for a couple weeks.

I don't know if pinging Keith would help, but it would at least bring to his attention that there are still some issues relating to the forums.

I actually got one raffle ticket today from posting to Games, it was my first this week, i think. Getting them has definitely become a rare event.
