: I would love to go to Cologne, visiting there during Karneval would just be icing on the cake since it seems to be the best place in Europe to celebrate.
I am a LITTLE biased on this. There is this "rivalery" between Cologne and DΓΌsseldorf. As for myself - DΓΌsseldorf is way to much politics to be truly funny - but then people from there will say Cologne is not political enough....
I prefer the way Karneval is celebrated in Cologne. Even though lasttime I did celebrate there I lost my group....
Since we have kids, we tend to celebrate in our hometown. Easier and not so crowded.
My hubby hates it - he was born in Hamburg and was not really raised to this. But he wears the costume I pick for him (mostly) and does not comlain (to much) if I send his daughter to beg him to get his face painted.... XD

: If I ever get out of the country, the most likely place we would visit first is Israel, and we would most certainly want to meet you and your hubby. After that, I want to see Germany, Austria, then England, possibly France and Greece. But, for now, I am content to visit those places vicariously through my wonderful Subeta friends like you.
Thank you for your nice compliment, I drew this animation for some of my apprentices who were struggling with the concept of 'motion' in relationship to a 'reference point' I decided to animate a little scene of Weldon and me shortly after I finished my apprenticeship, before we were married, at the lake, in my new swim suit. He was always fascinated by my tail....
: I am not very political, some of the floats mocking political figures scare me. How did you lose your group?
That's funny about your hubby. My hubby sure puts up with my whims and demands, although sometimes I wonder if deep down inside he's swearing to himself, "I'm a MALE! I can leave the seat up if I want, I don't care! I hope you fall in butt first! I hope you drown!" Oh, yes, I've dressed him up in some pretty silly costumes and he just soldiers on, "Yes dear..."
What am I supposed to do? I could have lived my life alone with my books and my pipe and my slippers and be the most lonely miserable sad and pathetic weasel in the forest. but instead I chose to stick by the weirdest, littlest runt female with the most severe case of ADHD ever seen in our species, and her oddball sense of humor, wild streams of thought, bizarre sense of clothing style ( if she remembers to dress at all ) and propensity for bringing down more trouble on her head then anybody I know, simply because she loves me and I knew that my life would NEVER BE BORING. And no, I don't wish you would drown. Fall in maybe, but never drown. After all, it's not like you have never gone swimming in the toilet before. I remember when you were just a wee pup.....
OK "Mr.-What-Got-Into-You-To-Cause-You-Start-Reminiscing-AGAIN", enough stories about me. What about the time you crashed your ultralight and you were hanging upside-down by your trousers which were down around your ankles and the entire flight line was suddenly aware that you flew 'commando-style?"
Touche'
I have photos.
Oh gad!
Congratulations! Nothing more special than holding your baby for the first time
I had the game on...but didn't really watch. I could care a less about football. Now when the blackhawks are on, that's another story.
it's not really a problem to loose the group. Just stick around and watch and the others go on.
Oh you can come to visit anytime. We have a spare room laughs - so if you and your hubby ever plan a trip - you'd be welcome.
Oh yes there was one float mocking a certain New York buisnessman who wants to become President and that one looked a bit scary... With Lady Liberty sticking out her toungue to him and himself having a blue eye (with the signature of Iowa on it) laughs again
I am not sure wether I am allowed to post it on here.

Wow! What a game! I was rooting for the Broncos, but I thought for sure Carolina had it in the bag. I was super excited my team won.

To Anonymous : Thank you so very much for the very wonderful present you just sent me: [item2=Frozen Lake Terrarium] You are welcome and I greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity.
: You could post the picture, as long as it is PG-13 or isn't too insulting, or if it involves a caricature of a political figure exiting the gastrointestinal tract of another political figure...You could hide the image behind a SPOILER tag using the following code...

But for the most part, Lair Bears shy away from many political topics that tend to polarize people, like candidates and issues. Football teams though are another issue. There have been some very vocal conflicts when it comes to football teams. ( giggle )
- it is a caricatureof apolitical figure. But that's it. Since it runs openly though the streets and children can see it it's nothing.... ehm really bad.
I think it's funny. I'll think about it.
I am always sort of afarid I might get into trouble.

: I'm quite a conservative and I find that funny. Thanks for posting.
It's 2:40 in the afternoon here, it is warm and the sky is cloudless and I just finished a nice tea out on the front porch. The birds are busy, I saw the first woodcutter bee of the season on the roses and I am sensing a slight change in the weather. Weldon just walked into the house from being out in the garden, shucked off his work trousers in the laundry room and traipsed through the house in his boxers toward the bedroom...it's nap time.
I really like the bue eye, showing he did not so well in Iowa. And it's nearly midnight here so I will head to my bed and sleep.
Another day of Karneval tomorrow.
Have a nice evening

Always in our thoughts an <3
Love the cartoon!
Every time I intend to drop in the lair something else distracts me and .. see!? I typed that half an hour ago!! Lucky thing y'all know how I am with shiny object syndrome.
Erm.. priggle fruit I get, Fenberry and Bubbles I get but .. how to say this .. about the big sharp knife and your tiny furry paws.. how about you try a paring knife instead? It's just as sharp and twice as shiny. And this one comes with cookies!
I had a peek at the Karneval celebration on google, what a fun time! whispers while trying not to look directly at Frieda (But.. just between us, bring out the chocolate chip cookies in small portions, Freddy love love loves cookies!)
Also freddy's right, we don't get into politics or any gray areas that can cause hurt feelings but as long as said image was part of the festival that you're sharing in your posts, securely placed under a spoiler with a clear warning and it's only one of the millions that are out there it's fine.
If anyone thought they would get upset they wouldn't look under the spoiler. Just between us I saw it earlier today and laughed my ass off. But of course, I'll keep my giggles to m'self ^^
I know right!? I was positive the girls were going to be crushed and Manning was going to go out on a wave of defeat. This is one time I don't mind being wrong xD
Kathy I must admit I felt bad for Cam too. He's one of the best QBs I've seen come up the ranks since I began watching the game. It was all about the defense which is what most of the big games come down to, but you can bet he'll be back. That kid will have a fist full of SB rings, mark my words.
Thanks for the heads up about Tempest, I tried to get her to come play several times but she wasn't interested I guess.
, hm. I think you forgot to ping the group with that update xD Just kidding bud, I know you didn't intend to but everyone's going to want to know how Claire and the baby are doing.
But I also know you treasure privacy so I'll quote/ping the group from the private sector where only lair members can see whats posted.
Oh that's right, I forgot about that. You're a hockey fan xD Gimme the pigskin and purple and gold any day bby!
Oh, and .. we're in a crippling blizzard. Tell that woodcutter bee to bring some of that sunshine this'a way.
Our Lair is proof you don't have to stand face to face to know you've got friends who stand with you when you need us.
Mni wiconi -- water is life
I thought that was hilarious, especially Lady Liberty thumbing her nose at him.

Great cartoon ...a good thump for Trump! :)
: You are so precious and so generous! Thanks for the wonderful gifts, they brought a big smile and giggle to my day. I actually don't use a BIG KNIFE for pineapples, I use my sword. ( snicker ) My little ones call those big black carpenter bees "Jungle Bees" because they are so huge and they imagine that everything in the jungle is monstrous. (I was mistaken on their name, they are not leaf-cutter bees, but carpenter bees. )
