For what it's worth, I don't even think I would risk changing who I am. Not to mention that I have always been a colossal introvert, even to the point of worrying my parents when I was younger.

I honestly don't think anyone is an introvert/extrovert 100% of the time. Otherwise, they would feel the need to isolate themselves/be in the company of others every last waking second of their lives.

: both Weldon and I are introverted, but on different levels and for different reasons. I am diagnosed and treated for severe ADHD and if I don't take my medications, I tend to hyper-focus on activities that engage my brain ( like computers, writing, drawing, digital music, etc. ) to the exclusion of those around me. This isn't good for interpersonal relationships and I don't often finish any of the activities I engage in. This is not a positive example of introversion. If I take my medications appropriately, I am still introverted, thoughtful, task-oriented, productive and efficient, not distracted by those around me. But at the same time, I can be engaging, communicative and pleasant. Needless to say, I take my medication.

Weldon is quite introverted, extremely focused, introspective, extremely thoughtful, focusing on every detail and memorizing everything. Yet, he is a very good leader as demonstrated by his military service and officer status. A lot of his troops under his command saw his quiet demeanor as strength, intelligence, determination and dedication. Everything you want in an introvert.

We have friends who are total extroverts, My older cousin for example, who walks into a room, glad-handing everybody, telling jokes, making his presence known and being the life of a party, even at funerals. At times, you want to cover your ears and run out of the room going "la-la-la-la...not listening!" because you would never do that personally and it just is so painful to watch somebody make such an idiot of themselves...and yet, everybody loves him for being who he is, just as they love Weldon for who he is and they love me....because of who I am...sometimes quiet and reserved, sometimes silly and flirty, sometimes tearful and contemplative and sometimes someone who just has a severe case of the wiggles.

There is nothing wrong with being introverted, just keep the channels of communication open between you and Claire so that you both understand each other.

PS...parents worry about everything to the extreme. My parents once thought I was having an ulcer...as a toddler! I went to Healer's Hall and ran a battery of tests, barium studies, stool samples, blood tests. What they found out was that I was suffering from all the stress of my parents worrying about me....It's kind of like the snake eating it's own tail...

Yeah, I tend to think of it more as a flexible range really. I think some personality tests especially ones like Meyers Briggs where they give you a percentage can be most useful. According to one I took recently I scored somewhere around 40/60 on the introversion/extroversion scale, which I think is actually quite fitting. Another thing I really appreciate about things like meyers briggs personality profiles, is that they actually help me to better understand myself and others.

I can actually relate to feeling the stress of other people's emotional stress as well. I'm a strong feeler, so I can sense the emotions of the people around me and sometimes pick up on them subconsciously to the point that I might even experience stress from their emotional state or turmoil if I'm not careful. It also means, that as a feeler that when I enter a new or stressful situation I tend react emotionally before I process everything logically.

Looks like I have the day off work today due to icy road conditions! Yesterday we had a bit of a wintery storm where it pretty much hovered right around freezing all day & left us with some ice that is still hanging around so they ended up closing my workplace all day! Literally, right now the sidewalks and roads around my house are so icy and slippery that I'm nervous to walk to the mailbox, let alone try to walk around the corner to the bus stop. Fortunately, my work pays us for a couple inclement weather days so I will still get paid for today even though I can't make it to work.

Hello peoples! Hope you all had a great Monday. I had a question, something that I just realized. Today is Monday, and I was wondering about that old Temptest. All through the month of December and November, I have not noticed anyone post anything about her, and I haven't had any visits from her. Did the site stop that Monday siting thing? Or maybe people just havent' been posting. I don't know. Just thought I would ask.
