Big time drought conditions in the Fresno area. All over the west actually. Here in northern California we're dealing with the Butte fire currently http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-butte-fire-california-20150911-story.html but it seems that California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon are all burning up. , Saying a prayer for you dear.

Hoping all will be well for everyone ...is there any chance of rain in the coming forecast? It has been such a dreadfully hot and dry summer with untold fire damage.

Please dont forget to pack all important documents life, home, and auto insurance. Precious keep sakes and your furry babies if you have any. , , , , , , , , Thanks for your prayers, Weldon and I are safe from any immediate fire danger, we are staying inside, it's the air quality we are mostly worried about at this point, it is quite poor. Air quality reports all over the Central Valley are Orange, which is unhealthy air for sensitive groups. They sky is orange and the temperature is supposed to be 104. But there are no reports of fires in the areas around Glen Meadow.

The fire situation in the West is made worse by the four year drought as many of the trees in the forests have died for lack of water, coupled with decades of aggressive fire-suppression efforts by the forest service, there are massive quantities of fuel available. Much of the area is deep canyons or steep terrain.

The Butte Fire in the foothills of Stockton and Lodi, where my Author grew up is also on fire, last I heard it had consumed over 60,000 acres in three days! and they had evacuated the town of San Andreas ( this is in the historical Gold Country ). There are 19 active fires burning in California as of this morning according to CalFire.

well I would be in the sensitive group, I have bad allergies. Any form of smoke just sets me off, because it makes my chest tighten and makes me cough a lot. So glad your staying indoors, where its better. No telling what all that smoke could do to a person. Thanks for keeping us updated!!!

~ code orange air quality is yucky for sure! We get that on occasion in our area during summer months, without any of the fire dangers. You can swim through the air it gets so muggy. Hard to breathe on code orange days. I feel so bad for those out west dealing with the fire madness.

~ it's been great seeing her, but it is difficult to tell myself 'she is an adult now, stop mothering' I don't think I will ever stop, lol! I used to do that with my kids too as they were getting older and not around as much, drag them to the grocery store, those days are gone. At least my youngest is close by so I see her briefly a few times a month. Just today I got to do her laundry!! lol!!!
