Yes, absolutely! I will fix it now (fwiw if you submit a ticket about this sort of thing it's really easy for us to fix :) Sometimes we just miss them!)
No, I mean for English words (Gray, not grey. Pajamas, not pyjamas. Color, not colour). Some foreign language words are allowed AS LONG AS they are common or well known words in that language
Trust me, I know, and we do our best to catch them. That one is difficult for most of us (I spell 'gray' as 'grey' all the time), but technically the American English spelling is Gray and that is what we are looking for.
The spellings for those are actually interchangeable in American English! So that's fine :)
You big dork xD
That's why I thought a refresher was in order! It's been coming up more and more and really, it's such a SIMPLE thing that it's worth having everyone go over again :D
Good idea :) I'll add that now!
I'm sorry but I can't give pure approval advice in the forums, just like we can't in tickets. If I did that the queue itself would never get done!nn It's not really a "now" thing. The rule has always existed, but we sometimes miss things! I'll fix it tonight :)
This is a new trend, so I wanted to let you guys know, we will NOT be allowing emojis in CW descriptions - they will be edited and removed. Please keep this in mind and spare us the extra work ;)
Because we have no guarantee that emojis are forever. This is the sort of thing not supported on all sights that may one day change. And then we would have a lot of items to fix retroactively. (Note: I'm not saying emojis are going away on site so don't panic)
Just a few more reminders...
-This wasn't touched on before, but sCode does not work in item descriptions so please don't bother with it! It just creates extra work :)
I honestly have -no- idea. We just add them in manually :( It sucks, but I really have no idea. It's existed as long as Cws have, sigh!
Generally we do not give any sort of approval via the forums, but I can tel you that they are right - an eggplant isn't something like "socks" or "shirt" or "dress" that are just normal items of clothing.
In descriptions, yes, that's fine :)
It's time for another reminder about this :) please remember to use AMERICAN spellings, not British! Little things like this can delay your CW getting accepted (for example, if I'm doing a quick run to accept recolors but accepting it is going to require me to change the name and edit the description, it may have to wait until next time). This is something coming up more and more. Thanks, dears!

Subeta is an American site that conforms to using American English. If and the Canadian staff artists can do it, I'm sure the rest of you can ;)
That would take literally hours - hours away from me accepting CWs. I've mentioned a lot of the common things already, and really, you guys should just be double checking before you submit! Item names and descriptions need to have American English spellings and CORRECT spellings and grammar, item names cannot need apostrophes as they do not work in the names, plurals are not used with apostrophes, etc. Really, it's just basics. Double check your item names and descriptions before submitting, and use American English :) It's easy!
We do our best to NOT have it be a thing with Staff-submitted things, either (with a few exceptions that were done that way on purpose or for special meanings), and when and (and others) catch it or if it slips through, they change it. It's not something we're going to waver on. We even have a denial reason that simply states " Use of non-American spelling(s) in the item name and/or description". We try to NOT deny things if the only mistake is a spelling or grammar issue as a favor to the submitters, since we can change it, but if it keeps being a huge issue, we're not always going to be able to do that. This wasn't posted to start a debate about whether or not it's a rule -- it is a rule, and this is a friendly reminder :)
Thank you dear! I'm going to edit the first post with it :)
As has been mentioned here already -- this isn't being posted on to be up for debate. It's a rule of the site and it's one that needs to be followed. If individual users don't like it, I'm sorry, but it's still a rule and still needs to be followed. It's been a rule the entire time, and it's not changing now. This was posted as a friendly reminder, because we are seeing a LOT of grammar, spelling, and other issues with item names and descriptions as of late. And as I already said, we are happy to change these, but lately we are needing to change at least 50% of the items that are accepted, and we will have to start denying for these issues. So either users need to make sure they are using American spelling, or they will have to deal with item denials. It's really that simple.
(and for what it's worth, if you are using an American version of say, MS Word, it WILL mark the British spellings of words as being wrong ;) Canadian English is also different from both American English and British English as it has similarities with BOTH.)
- Nothing is 'up' with it - they were missed. I'll go fix them right now :)
If you ever notice something like that, feel free to submit a ticket! We get to it a lot faster that way :) It's a SUPER easy fix (I already fixed it in fact!) once it's brought to our attention
[edit] I keep forgetting! FWIW, cause I've seen it mentioned - gray/grey is perfectly fine either way. Actually it's funny - our denial for grey artwork says "gray artwork" and then I force myself when leaving a note about it to spell it Gray to match the pre-set denial reason.
