Are you sure those have been bought at those prices? I honestly doubt that they have. I don't think the hover prices really show what things have sold for.
I'm not sure about this 100% but I think the item catalog and tome came from elsewhere before. People used to profit off of buying items from the MC so when they retired, they could resell them for a lot more. since this has changed, this shouldn't happen any more.
As far as I know, the number after the "Price Today" line means that the item was bought from SS for a similar price today? If that's wrong, please feel free to correct me! :)
It has undergone many changes and bug fixes, I honestly don't think it means that any more. I'm not completely sure though.
Ahh, I was unaware of the changes and bug fixes. Thanks for letting me know! :)

I am not sure if that means on the hovers, but I think it does.
I do think high end MC colors/species would be a good thing, and I don't think many would end up in user shops if they're priced correctly and other sources of getting them were taken away
Ahhh, thanks for sharing this! If people really are buying from the MC rather than from user shops, then I see no reason why there shouldn't be a MC potion. :)
I want recolors to be pretty much equivalent in worth and in effort. Reposes, I don't mind if they have eccentric ways to be gotten, but recolors, I just see as being convenient. They're boring, but practical, which is why I like the idea of potions much better.
Right now, a lot of recolors are inflated, but when I changed my pets, last month, not a single recolor was above 250K. Silver was the highest, and things like Sun and Dawn were the lowest, at around 80K.
I'm okay with a 500M fundraiser to get new potions and stuff, but not to unlock yet another magic NPC who can change your pet's color. We have the Galactic fairies, we have Merana, we have Isaac and we have Vanya. They all have a special reason to go and do magic things, but I wouldn't want a NPC just to get my pet turquoise. There is nothing magical or fantastical about turquoise.
I guess we just have a difference of opinion. :) The way I think about it is, why even have a potion when something could just be bought for a certain amount of sp? And in addition, it doesn't run the chance of having a user re-sell the item for a profit? Personally, I would've been okay with just the option to repaint from the pet page, but I thought an NPC would add a bit more immersion for people who like that stuff, haha.
HOWEVER, if the majority of people are buying MC items from the MC and not from other users as I had supposed, I have no objection to there being more MC potions! The 500 mil (or whatever amount) recurring fundraiser is the most important part, and so if there's no NPC, that's perfectly okay by me. :)
To me, potions are important because a lot of people collect things in little bottles, and I like gallery fodder! I like pretty items and cute trinkets! I can understand it's not important to some people, but item art is what I love the most. I love all of the thingmajiiks in that 64 X 64 space.
I think the Recycle Beast's sP smelter is really underutilized. Something like that system in return for desirable things like items and achievements could be a good sink imo.

I think a good sP sink could be to change the way playing with pets works. Right now you could play with them 10 times a day if they hadn't a minion and weren't happy. But who does that? I barely know anyone. So that way we have tons of items which are almost completely useless although they have a purpose. My idea was: remove the happiness like it is right now and replace it with a system independent from the minions similar to the way reading works: Let it be cumulative with how many toys the pet plays. For every ten or so toys it gets a small amount of points, maybe something new, maybe some experience points wich go directly together with those you can get at the arena. Then one should be able to spend those points on stats. This way it is a tiny bit easier to get stats, even if it still will take a while and on the other hand: buying and selling toys would be much more attractive and there would be more sp to spend and toss around on site. If stats get too easy to get there could be a cap on how many toys you can let your pet play with. But still: the interest in playing the pet has must be independent from anything else on site, or it would just create more frustration.
What do you think about that idea?
I know we already have an "autotraining" option and we have boosters but i'd pay millions to be able to train in more than one subject at a time :o

As a collector, I'd be sure to buy any new minions/plushies/beanbags/stickers that come out lol
This is why I'm poor on here
Btw SP sinks are cool and all but they should be endgame. It shouldn't affect new players that doesn't have the SP to spend. It's unfair.
I would be happy to pay extra to play games such as mind reader/reflection which have time/play limits. The reward outcome for these games are so low/non-existent that it shouldn't be an issue?

Wrong. SP sinks, to be efficient, have to be accessible by the highest number of users. So, several low-end SP sinks are more viable in the long run than one huge SP sink.
Newbies have the opportunity to make like 2M per day with quests, nobody is going to stay at 10K SP for months.
I said that because even if newbies make 2mil per day, they already have their own SP sinks.
-Not everyone wants to have all their pets be Common the rest of their lives. Potions aren't cheap. Elixirs are cheaper, but still cost money.
-Food, toys/minions, resort, etc. Costs of maintaining said pet, or pets.
-Even questing takes money because you have to have money to buy the items needed.
So yeah, it's not like newbies don't have SP sinks, right? Even with the money games make, the beginning of a player's life is always a struggle until you can have enough money to cover basic costs.
Why don't we up the price of a resort stay? Up the price of both the Lakeside Resort and Rathskeller Inn. The Lakeside Resort, especially, could say that they've recently added new luxury items such as a hot tub, pool, etc. so that's why the price is higher. They're a resort!
Right now, the cost per day at the Rathskeller Inn is 200 sP and the Lakeside Resort is 200 sP. Perhaps the price could be upped to 1000 sP a day?
