I've got a stack of furnishing fabrics I was given, and one is a lovely rich burgundy that would be amazing lined with a satin. It'd be so fiddly to sew, though! I don't know if I'd have the patience, and making it drape properly once it was lined would be tricky too... spring line?? Also Vivienne Westwood made a stunning emerald green cloak for one of her collections but for some reason her stuff isn't well archived online and I can never find pictures of it OTL

I'll get a bunch of refs together!! I think one to the waist would be best so you could wear what you wanted on the bottom half and not have everything too obstructed.Ugh this would be beautiful. I just want cloaks everywhere!! Also, wooooow. Where'd you get the Trident? I know I've still got a few expensive things somewhere in my wardrobe, but I don't know what costs most anymore. I wish I could have my account worth page back already. <.<

Spring line.. of kids clothing LOL. Nothing super exciting! (And actually, I bowed out of this one because their ideas weren't meshing with mine.. as in, most of it was super ugly LOL. BUT.. my stuff sold out of the winter line, and theirs didn't, sooooooo.. we'll see! :P)

And yes! It'd be such a pain to sew (Well, satin always is.. so is minky), but it'd be SO. NICE in the end! There's a reason full length cloaks sell for at least $250 on etsy and at renn faires and such. :(

yeah apparently it did! (not certain I believe that, nor have I checked recently, bUT STILL)!

That event sounds awesome! I'm looking forward to doing those sorts of things if I'm accepted!

oh god my hair would be so done for!

sometimes what i do is order my vault from highest to lowest price which helps a little!

the trident was from the 2010(?) bobblehead turn in prize!

yes good! I'm excited about the cloaks! I think they'd be really fun. Especially if they're semi-intricate!

Don't forget, I kicked butt in the buzz trivia contest! (Though got one round!).

So that should help! We've got to save the world!

!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't suppose you'd link me to this?? It'd be so interesting to see the designs of someone I've spoken to produced. A I'm not nearly good enough yet to do anything like that myself, and I'll probably never be fast enough, but a friend of mine is planning on starting up her own fashion label and I'll probably tag along to see what she does. Ugh, I just love designing things. Why does actually constructing them have to be such a pain?

Absolutely yes, it would be so worth it to have a cloak done properly. I don't ever really get cold enough here to consider anything but a satin, and a lot of fabrics feel odd on my skin, but they'd be stunning. At least I know that making a cloak for myself would require much less fabric - there are benefits to being super short! ;D

Gotta have buckles and at least one pretty clasp and maybe swirling leaf embroidery on the hem of the cloaks, for sure!! I'm unsure if I want ears on the hood - it might be too cutesy or something. Making the hair and cloak look windblown would be lovely too - imagine layering a design like it with a snowy background and foreground! I get way too wrapped up in these ideas OTL

Does ordering your vault arrange things over 50m? I know shops don't. And those events do sound fun! Also, I'm so sad - I've never actually completed a bobblehead collection. Shame on me.

Gorgeous. Yes. I love classic designs - always so neat and dignified but still cute for the kids! (Those little waistcoats are absolutely the best part of the line, and the beautiful collars~)

I LOVE the little waistcoats! LOVE THEM. They were my favorite too, aside from the gingerbread. I LOVED the gingerbread!

Though this is my very favorite outtake from the shoot.

wrapped up in these ideas is half the fun! I love the pretty art on this site... The fact that they let users make wearables is amazing to me!

I'm not sure about ordering the vault and 50m+ :O

I don't know /why/ exactly I did that particular bobblehead collection... seemed to think it was fun XD I never played subeta very seriously until like August of 2013 :o And then hiatused from March of 2014 until this month xD Hoping a cult will help me stay tethered!

UGH. I need to go to bed. Goodnight ladies :* (And gents if Greg pops on XD)

Everything is too cute, stawpit. The gingerbread theme was brilliant! Even the tartan - I hated tartan and plaid as a kid, but now I'm starting to see the appeal a bit. If they were older I wouldn't like the green so much, but it suits perfectly; it makes them feel young which is good!! The empire waists on the dresses and the way pants always look on kids helps too. ;P

Did you see the Royal Overcoats that started this whole cloak thing? ;3 They're little cat icons dressed in cloaks.

G'night, g'night!! Good luck with work - hope we still catch you a few times over the next few days!

Oh gosh, I don't think I did! I must have been blinded by Hogwarts in the background LOL.

And thanks! The gingerbread is my very favorite ahaha. But yeah, I just thought this plaid was awfully ugly. I don't mind like.. less eye-searing stuff, though! And the oldest kid that was modelling was 3, so I don't think they needed to worry about them looking too old :P The puffy sleeves though, with the huge collars on the plaid. nope. Not my thing at all. :P

I can totally understand that. xD There are just some fashions that will never be your thing. I'm trying to be open minded about everything I see, and try to pick at least one detail out of everything I see to admire, but it's hard sometimes. At least all those garments had nice clean lines? Good fit? lol

The gingerbread worked well though! Cute for kids, themed, but still muted, worked well in a soft fabric to keep it all fun and easy to wash and care for. Best way to go, with kids~ I had puffy princess sleeves on one dress when I was a kid. I thought you couldn't look good unless you had puffy sleeves. Fast forward to now, and I can't stand them at all haha. Draped sleeves, kimono sleeves, loose billowing sleeves with cuffs - give me anything but those horrible shoulder puffs.

That Hogwarts one that looks to be the common room of Gryffindor? That was beautiful. Makes me wonder if there's a Ravenclaw one. <3

OHHHHH. There's one with an animated red door opening that has the Gryffindor common room in there too! I think you found one of the only ones I didn't preview haha.

Yep, absolutely. I figure as long as I keep an open mind, let other people like what they like, it should be good... but it's so hard when I'm so sure I know what would look even better on them. :P As long as I never say anything it's all good! I'm finding that I'm open to a lot more ideas since actually studying fashion, which is awesome. I actually start getting into things in the season they come out, now, instead of liking them 2 seasons after when nobody else is wearing it, lol.

Yeah, fashion isn't really my thing.. aside from kids clothes. I'm personally happiest in my PJs.. or at least, jeans and a t-shirt LOL. I tried to get into "adult" clothing, but always felt like a fraud. So I mean, dresses, I can do dresses IRL.. but other than that, not really my thing. I hate scarves, cowl necks, anything around my neck. Blah. Fashion just isn't fo rme.. which is why I like subeta so much, I think :P

THOUGH. I really wanted to do like, soft pink and green and blue seersucker for spring, with bubble rompers and pinafore dresses. ACK. LOVELY.

Instead?

This is not classic. This is vintage. And ugly. :P

I constantly regret that certain emoticons from other sites aren't available on here. 'gonk' is the only way I can properly express my dismay at that. That's not spring! It's too heavy, and whyyyy are there little ruffles everywhere? I'm all for bows, but one around the waist tied off to the side or a cute big neck bow instead of that ribbon... just... no. Nooooo. Pinafore dresses are my favourite!! They would've been so good, and pockets, and layers of bright happy colours.

Ugh, I feel you on the neck thing. I have this weird paranoia of people touching my neck, and sometimes I can't decide if I'm better off never ever taking a scarf off, or having my neck totally bare at all times. I don't have any shirts or jumpers or turtlenecks that touch my neck, but I do wear a handful of scarves that I've tested to make sure they don't irritate me or make me feel claustrophobic. Why is it so hard.

How did you get into designing kids' clothes if you're not into fashion?

My mother in law and sisters in law do it. I picked out the fabrics (most of them) for the winter line, and what went with what pattern. I was supposed to do the spring one too, but got outvoted by bright pink (matched with that same colored fabric in that romper.. blech) and some other stuff LOL.

I thought something like this would be great playclothes! And rompers, always rompers! rompers all the way!

Besides, I've got three little girls.. we've got a LOT of clothes. And a lot of friends with kids. And I'm big into the boutique world from when I made bows, so I still know a ton of people who make M2M bows and necklaces and such, so it makes it easy for me to find matching accessories.

But now my sister in law wants to get everything straight from china and wholesale it herself too (blech)

AND YES. nothing on my neck. I don't even like, like.. crew cut t-shirts, I almost always wear v-necks haha. Also my ears.. I HATE it when there are things near my ears, creeps me right out. :P)

AGREED. Any mens' cut t-shirts are terrible. Normal shirt collars aren't too bad because I can leave them unbuttoned near the top and it only sits on the back of my neck, but anything else is nope. I do necklaces and earrings, though!! I just love how they look, because I usually dress very femme (my body shape doesn't allow for much else) and they dress up an outfit. Half the compliments I get are on the unusual accessories I find.

Romperssssssss!! When you're a kid having everything all in one outfit is the way to go. No kid has the time or patience to put on pants AND a top. xD A friend of mine used to have to compromise with her daughters a lot on their clothes each day. Some days would just be a 'no pants at all until 3 o'clock' day.

Oooh, you made bows! You guys all sound super crafty. I have so much craft stuff I have to do, I'm kind of swamped and don't do any of it, oops. I really want to upcycle a bunch of petticoats my grandmother owned, but I'll never get around to it... I can see the appeal of getting everything from China, but it ruins the feel and sends the money to the factories instead of keeping it in the business.

Ick, so many quests to do, so little time... <.<
