Guys please. I have posted this before. If you have new information about this bug (other than another piece of clothing gone) please post it. This means if you get any error messages or something like that. Otherwise please keep the chat down. I have reported this and I am sure it will be taken care of as soon as possible. Please be patient.

Unfortunately I have no timeline on when it will be fixed. I am not saying people can't be frustrated or upset. That is a perfectly valid reaction. You have to think about it from a programmer view though. Lets say that this bug is different and has a bunch of error messages that come with it. And then someone posts those errors on page 5 of the bug board. And then there are 5 more pages of people just talking about the bug. That programmer has to read through all those posts just to get to the error messages and then another 5 pages to make sure no one posted anymore. It would be much easier if the error messages were posted and that was it. Maybe if this were left for a week with no resolution, then someone posting that it is still happening is fine.

I am just trying to say that chat really is not a good thing in this forum. It makes the programmers have to spend more time finding what they need to fix things.

I've just pushed a fix for this, and found out the problem, and it shouldn't happen again in the future.

Technical explanation: All of our image files live off of our servers (on amazon) and so when the avatar system tries to build your avatar it either has to fetch the images from there, or use a local cache. The local cache wasn't clearing itself daily anymore and when the system hit 100% disk space it would stop building avatars entirely. This is relatively new because we used to have 2-3 servers running the avatar code but we've been able to take it down to 1 with more aggressive caching.

I've made it so that it clears daily again and the avatars should clear up in the next hour or so. I've purged the cloudflare cache to speed it along.

Thank you Keith! Locking this up as resolved. As stated above, it may take up to an hour for everything to catch up. Clearing your cache may help if you are still missing items.
