I've watched a lot of good anime, but the ones that stuck out most for me are Shinsekai Yori and Love Live! School Idol Project.
I'm a big big fan of horrific psychological thrillers, but also a big big fan of cute slice-of-life anime. For Shinsekai Yori, I highly recommend it for people who like dark anime and plot-driven stories. For Love Live!, it's super cute and has super catchy songs, but also deals with some heavy stuff during the second season. I cried so hard at the end! I recommend it for people who like cute girls being friends and doing cute things together.
For my worst anime, well....
Trigger Warning: The worst anime I ever (tried to) watch was Diabolik Lovers. The fact that it's getting a second season blows my mind. I only had to watch the first two episodes to know it's the most rapey, disgusting garbage in shoujo anime. The guys literally call her Bitch-chan. The boys are all vampires and not only do they force blood out of her, they sexually assault her at every turn. The plot was super boring and cliche too. Of course, that's not what they're marketing is it? The only people who can possibly like this anime probably hate women. A lot.
If we are talking about our least favorite animes there is one in particular that just jumps right out at me- Shin Chan. I was just not that good, in my opinion. Also didn't care to much for Ghost in the Shell, most of the time I found it to be a little boring, and the conversation seemed dry. Then again that may be because most the time I watched it it was pretty late. That show has one of the best opening songs in any anime.
As for favorites I think my top 4 would be: Princess Jellyfish, Madoka Magika, Tokyo Mew Mew, and Buso Renkin. :3
Yowamushi Pedal and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun are my two favorites right now, they're extremely solid. I can re-watch the episodes several times and still enjoy them nearly as much as I did the first time around.
There aren't any that I consider "worst", but I tried one episode of Free! and couldn't get into it 8( sighs Makoto though..
I had no idea they made Saint Young Men into an anime?! The manga is so sweet, I def. have to give it a watch.
Yes! A movie and a couple of OVA I think. I think they're pretty great but I couldn't comment on how they are as adaptations. I haven't read the manga.
Never would have thought Jesus could be so adorable though.

aaa yes. It's near impossible to hate either character. u_u From that gif alone, I'm putting my faith in the adaptations--looks like they did accurately capture Jesus' personality.
Going to watch the movie (or OVAs, haven't decided yet) tonight after I finish up some things!
edit: Watched the first OVA :) It's so great seeing them animated! I think they're less cute in the manga compared to the OVA, and actually dorkier/more lame (in the best way possible) in the way they're presented.

i was quite surprised too about diabolik lovers getting a 2nd season. the 1st one was pretty bad.
Oh god, the Dramatical Murder anime is easily the worst thing I've ever seen >_> I LOVED the visual novel, but the anime is horrid. Seriously, who was the brilliant mind who thought it was a good idea to adapt ONE WHOLE ROUTE in a 20 minutes episode? I was already worried when I saw it's only 13 episodes and thought it was going to be rushed, but I had no idea I'd get so disappointed. And don't get me started with the terrible animation.
It's a shame since I don't think it'll get a proper adaptation now :c
I mostly read manga but I do watch some anime from time to time. n_n
I loved the concept of Fairy Tail. The first couple of arcs were okay, but the longer it went on the more I longed for it to end while it had some dignity. Sadly that was quite some time ago. I still read the manga just because I invested so much time in it. Dx
I used to love Attack on Titan but as new chapters were released it just got... weird. And not in a good way. I can't even follow it anymore and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of character development, which is disappointing. The anime was very nicely animate/acted/etc, though. If you don't mind the gore the first season is worth a watch.
I love Digimon. They're apparently making a third season for Digimon Adventure and I don't want to admit how stoked I am for that. ;-;
I also enjoyed the Hellsing OVA (even the Eng dub is nicely voice acted aside Seras), FMA: Brotherhood, Blue Exorcist was a good anime (even if it did deviate from canon towards the end) and remains one of my favorites (but I love demons so might be biased xD). Durarara was an interesting watch, though I could have done with less of the highschool kids and more of the 'older' characters.
I used to love Gundam Wing, Inuyasha, Shaman King, Beyblade, DBZ, etc, but I'm not sure how they'll stand now that I'm a lot older. xP
As for animes I really hate... Death Note. I just don't see why it's so popular and why some people damn near lynch me when I say I didn't like it. I've also given I don't know how many shojou (can never spell that!) mange/anime a chance but it's so frustratingly tiresome for me to watch the misunderstandings that should be so painfully obvious to a half wit. Dx I never end up hoping they get together. I end up hoping zombies suddenly appear and eat them or something.
And yet, with that being said, Ouran Highschool Host Club is my guilty pleasure. Go figure.
haven't seen any recent anime but I loved Naruto honestly I never finished it I lost my spot in the anime and manga lol and for anime I hate are death note and bleach I watched less than three episodes of death note and the first two of bleach..
[tot=britney]
The two animes I recently saw were Nagi no Asukara and Beyond the Boundary. They are both great! (: Has anyone else seen them?
I've watched both of them! Beyond the Boundary is one of my favorite anime ever!
Who else votes the anime listed below as the worst anime ever? Boku no Pico
cringing
[Tree=Mayano]
Oh my goodness, yes boku no pico was terrible. I had to stop watching it.
I used to like Attack on Titan but the fandom has pretty much ruined it for me. I also don't really like Kill La Kill (fandom again :( ). Blue Exorcist is teetering there mainly because I prefer the manga to the anime, since they changed the plot. DMMD is on there too, once more because of the fandom. Please don't make your little sibling cosplay a game that has explicit sex scenes. :( I've seen it at cons and it just bugs me. I liked Beyond the Boundary. It was pretty cute.
I can't pick a top favorite. I just have too many.
But the one I consider the worst is School Days. I just.....I don't want to talk about it. -_-

My favourites have been Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop and Berserk...alongside the altogether more popular Naruto and Gintama.

My favorite anime will always be Inuyasha. My favorites I've watched recently are Kill la Kill, Nisekoi, and My Little Monster. Cringeworthy... fairy tale
EDIT: Now that I have watched the eleventh episode of Seraph of the End I take back most of the mean things I said about it. A few questions were answered, but the existence of vampires is still a mystery. Also, what is the application of the virus? How do these plot devices point to or involves Yu? It seems the humans have more explaining to do than their blood-sucking enemies, which is a nice change of pace. Humanity isn't quite a paragon of virtue. I worry for those kept in the dark because they are often the first to die though there are few I actually want to live.
I'm going to keep things recent so that I don't end up harping about my long time faves/hates.
Kekkai Sensen is my favourite anime this season. To me it's kind of a much improved Durarara (which I also like), one without a bazillion characters most of which you don't care about.
Ore Monogatari I only started watching last week because I was judging it by its cover. But I gave it a shot and it's a great romcom. Just don't expect it to be realistic when it comes to "could this character survive/be able to do this?" :P
I watched three eps of both Arslan Senki and Seraph of the End. In my opinion they both had terrible writing so I dropped them. I did read a couple chapters ahead in the manga with Seraph but it got worse so I was glad I didn't waste more time on it. Seriously, if you have a series where fighting is one of the main focuses, don't. neglect. strategy. Attack on Titan, while far from perfect, trumps these both in that the army is actually run by competent people, and the soldiers don't just abandon what they've been taught (unless they're panicking).
Finally, Utapri. Ohhhh Utapri, I have a hate-but-you-provide-me-with-laughs relationship with you. I really enjoyed the first series of Utapri for being an okay reverse harem, but the sequels are both horrible. The vast majority of the VAs can't sing worth a damn, the side characters are more interesting (if just a fraction) than the mains, plot what plot mentality, I could go on. But mostly it's the whole on/off mc love that the guys have. It would imo be better if they were just good friends with no romantic feelings in the anime, since they're clearly not going to pair her with any one guy. That or have Haruka get together with some totally superior guy in a "so long, suckers" move; she deserves to be whisked off her feet by someone competent in romance :D
DON'T WATCH AN ANIME CALLED BOKU LITERALLY is scarred for life @ Mayano
Do you also read Serafu, or only watch? :) The anime is true to the manga, there is a lot of little interaction in the manga that gives away a bit of what is going on with Yuu's condition. @ hashtag
