well, you've confused the socks off me there lol

well you just want to block as many of her icons as you can. so if she is doing a lot of dark, then you want something with dark defense. if that was her only weapon, you would be fine blocking either phys, dark, or earth. water does the least in your example so that one can be ignored more. as far as I know her main icons are dark and earth though, so you want to have dark and earth defenses. tainted keeper skull staff is the best option because it blocks both, then you can use a phys blocker with that.

Sorry about the confusion, I pulled that example from Mr. Cool's battle blog to show kbbob what I get confused about when setting up my battle set. If that makes any sense.

offenses don't cancel each other out, you can negate their damage by the defense you do.

Surely you'd want the same icon defense though... if she deals a lot of physical and dark, you'd want defense that blocks physical and dark, rather than magma and fire... that's where you lost me lol.

Ok, I think I understand a little bit more. I've been battling on the premise of cancelling each other out. I'll have to start doing things differently. Thanks for the info. :)

it should be easier to follow and plan ahead now that you know to just focus on the defenses :)
