Pretty much agree with everyone, especially Muerte. Also, I just love this and this and I would buy them irl. I'm female and made female HAs but I'm really into making male HAs now.

I'm down with more boyish stuff as far as costumes go (especially fantasy or Regency), plus I'd LOVE LIKE SUPER LOVE more short wigs - because putting longer hair under cute hats is the total bane of my HA-making experience the past several months, every time I sort of get inspired. (I already HAVE long, flowy, curly hair. I don't need to keep using a paper doll to pretend I do. What I DONT have is a head made for hats!)

The thing I'd love to see more of is armor and fantasy items THAT ACTUALLY LOOK GOOD ON THE MALE BASE. There's all sorts of cool shit like the Variable Star or the Forest Sprite Metal Corset that just don't work well on male HAs. And the items that would are often not differentiated enough between the male and female versions, so they sit completely wrong on the male base. It's not enough to simply erase the boobs and call it good, the item has to be re-centered and the neck/shoulder area redrawn, but most aren't so they're damn near unusable.

We've got how many hundreds or thousands of sets of eyeshadow, and exactly three sets of chain mail, from retired Costume Trunks.

And then when a cool fantasy/armor thing IS released that has good art on the male base, it's always in crazy neon-bright colors, like the Jeweled Hippocampus Hide. If that thing was in shades of gray or brown or something I would've snatched it up in an instant. Actually, much of the Themed Item section of the CS falls into this category, along with a lot of the seasonal/holiday wears that are released. I love the art on so many of the items, but they're so colorful it's damn hard to use them in a male HA without looking like you just strolled out of the Mardi Gras parade.

Re: Armor - I'd love to see more pauldrons, or just interesting shoulder things in general.

A lot of the pauldrons already on-site are are really costume-y and hard to use. I like some of the simpler ones like:

I also really like the shoulders on the Lords Fine Doublet:

Shoulder stuff like this is just a fun way to break up the HA's silhouette instead of having the same old rounded shoulders.

Random thought: I wonder if there's enough interest in fantasy armor and military garb to make a high fashion mash-up for Subeautique? Professor New Foxy toyed with this idea a little, but I think that was it.

Speaking of Subeautique (ooh, look at that smooth segue-way), there have been a couple female wigs that I wish had a transformation option to turn them into shorter styles. These are the two that have been on my mind a lot:

I'd love to just chop off the ponytails and use them as male wigs. And then there's the Giselle D.E.V.I.L.L.E Hairbrush. I do love it as it is, and it could work for a male wig, but it might have been neat to have another version with a smaller pampadour:

oh boy. i'm sorry if I suggest anything that people have already covered! my main issue is the lack of decent smart shoes. my absolute favourite shoes on site are CW oxfords like but obv they're CWs (and really rare too) so it would be amazing to have official items of a similar type!

1. I soooo soo agree with the lean and trim shoes/boots verses the huge and bulky ones! Shoes have always been subeta's Achilles heel (-snickers-) in general but guys shoes seem to be even worse. I'd like to see more shoes like the ones done with the Delish sets, only in more colors, since those are usually on point! Examples:

The only thing I have to add about that is there is one vest onsite that I'd love to see updated (the art isn't that bad -nostalgic-) and a dozen different colors and patterns released because it's got a great look to it (pocketwatchh!) but the color is out there and seems hard to use:

3. Okay on the topic of male/unisex eyes, let's take a moment for these two specifically:

Now both of those work perfectly for everyone. The hooded look isn't fluttering eyelashes, there's no colored eyeshadow effect, and the shape of them isn't huge and doe eyed which is not only a growing trend but kinda renders an eye useless for male HAs as well as more serious female avatars as well.

I would absolutely love to see an entire set of eyes just like those, I wouldn't even care if they were in the CS I'd still buy them all so fast.

4. We have a serious lack of Boutonnieres/pinable roses that aren't located on the head. I found a total if three, though I know there's at least one more that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head.

I'd seriously love to see more of ^ these, at least in other rose colors (red, black, white, etc), but other types of flowers would be really cool too!

There's a few more things I wanna mention, but I have to gather pictures first so I'll just leave this here for now.

I am actually confused as to what you mean about the midline needing to be recentered for male items after the breasts are removed - like, in theory I can understand what you mean by that, but I've been randomly clicking through Subetalodge and not really noticing that the male items look especially off-centered. Granted, I'm not an artist and don't have the eye for detail, but could you explain what kinds of items you were referring to?

But yes, +1 to everything and said, especially for more roses. Roses everywhere. Please.

My HAs are all male by rule so this entire thread gives me life. I greatly appreciate how male items are being released much more frequently nowadays compared to a few years back (the wigs that have a long-haired and a short-haired counterpart are an especially great idea imo) and I'm nodding at pretty much every suggestion above, but I'd like to emphasize how wonderful it would be to have more neutral/not-so-feminine eye and mouth wearables. Lord knows I went through every page of the "face" layer the other day and could only find a couple items that sort of fit what I was looking for, and it wasn't even anything too specific (dark eyes without makeup/long lashes?).

Seriously, I have the same problem with eyes and mouths specifically. Pages and pages and pages of the face layer and barely anything that could pass as male/masculine. The eyelashes are just too defined Dx

We really do need more male eyes - or, at very least, ones that aren't huge, simpering, tearful doe-eyes with loads and loads of lashes. I honestly have trouble making female HAs sometimes because all of the eyes are loaded with makeup or just look too... girly. That's not what I want when I'm making a badass warrior-queen HA.

Right now I'm cosplaying Cecil from Welcome To Night Vale. I had to use a pair of Halloween eyes because they're the best I have, but right now poor Cecil looks psychotic; Carlos would not be pleased.

We need so many more male wearables, holy god. I can make nice avatars now, yes, but I would love to be able to change it up more often and vary my style. As it is now I walk around looking like I'm dressed for Masquerade for half the year because making steampunk/Victorian outfits is one of the easiest things for a male HA.

I'd especially like nice masculine facial features because I like to put flowers in my HA's hair or wear a skirt sometimes (I can't resist nice tights/leggings, so sue me), but I don't want to be thought of as female, and a definitively masculine face would help that.

I am going to copy/paste from an old board of mine HERE regarding a transformable dress shirt/pieces, for layering purposes.

Base: Not transformable, sleeveless, collarless. Collars: Basic one a little more slim than the current ones + another style. Or more than two styles Sleeves: One short, one long, different styles (rolled VS. non-rolled short sleeves). Cuffs: Not transformable, but matching. Adding in that more than one style would be cool as well !

Bonus points ! Since I obviously got very lazy and didn't bother finishing these up, no examples: MATCHING SPATS ! If transformable they can be in short AND long models.

Bonus, bonus points ! Matching hats (bowler + tophat).

Bonus, bonus, bonus, me love you long time ! Hot pink/deep pink/the sweetheart pink I used in the examples/yes.

Why ? Layering. THINK OF THE LAYERING.

I agree with anyone that said hoodies. Sneakers, too (in style of Converse and Adidas that aren't CW or at least are affordable for people that don't have the funds?). Would also love to see more screen tee type shirts. Also agree with more shorter male wigs. Maybe make some redeemable coupons and you can choose the colors? Not sure if that would make it easier.
