Haha, I've been watching too much Gravity Falls. I say "Back to Front" and went "Atbash Cypher", which left me a pile of gibberish that I spent the next twenty minutes staring and cursing at

until I found this thread and saw everyone talking about "Jeremiah Frost"

and looked at the last line

and realized "Back to Front" literally meant to reverse it

I've been playing for 10 years, and I think this is the first time I've gotten something like this. I was confused at first, but now I'm kinda excited! Hopefully I'll be able to keep up. :P

In the festively wrapped box is a key and an old battered journal. Most of the pages are too faded to make out anything, the pages that are legible range from old recipes to doodles and poorly written poetry. Nothing very interesting. However upon closer investigation the lining on the inside cover seems to have been recently replaced. Tearing it out you will find a scrap pf paper with a code on it that looks as if it was written out fairly recently.

Message A new package arrives at your doorstep, just as festive and cheery looking as the last. Inside are three items: an old fashioned feather quill, a candle, and a fluffy blanket. There's no accompanying note with them however setting the box down near the first provides a strange reaction. The quill leaps from it's confines and heads strait for the notebook from the first box. It flips it to a blank page and begins to write. The handwriting is messy but it's legible enough.

Hello my friend. As you may have already deduced it is I, Jeremiah Frost writing to you once again. If you've never heard of me before... then please refer to my previous package and simply read each line backwards. I also must apologize for the rather cryptic message. I was in a bit of a panic and didn't really put down as much information as I should have.

I suppose I need to explain first what exactly I am, as well as the one I referred to as the Winter Beast. We are both Snow Sprites, and somewhat similar to the Snow Fairies you see flitting around this time of the year, though we're quite a bit taller. Normally we don't have all that much power. Sprites such as myself are usually limited to doing things like frosting over windows and making sure fresh fallen snow sparkles and glimmers in the light. I have a few more tricks then most though, as you can see with the pen moving on it's own and all, though nothing all that big.

But then there are some Sprites who are born with considerably more terrifying powers. The one we now call the Beast is one of them. He can summon terrible storms and ice over an entire city in moments if he wants. His heart is cold as stone and he cares nothing for the consequences. Worst of all he can shapeshift, you never know who are where he is. Which is why I've been so cautious up to now with the code (a simple one, but he has no patience for such things) and now with the enchanted pen. I can't risk this falling into his hands and tracing it back to me.

There aren't as many Snow Spites around as there should be right now, and I believe he's the cause. It was my cousin, another Sprite obviously, who originally sealed him up in a magical prison a long time ago. That cousin is pretty famous, you might have heard of him. He's even got a line in a song about nipping at noses or some nonsense. He's one of the powerful Sprites. But even he's nowhere to be found. I hope he's just laying low for now.

I don't have the magic to face the Beast but I am at least trying to warn as many as I can about him, especially those who might just have a bit of Sprite somewhere in their ancestry. Keep the candle I sent with you close at hand. I've enchanted it a bit. If you feel yourself in the presence of someone with an unfathomably cold aura, light it and it should provide a quick burst of heat. Hopefully enough to momentarily stun him so you can get away.

I am suddenly so terrified while shaking in excitement. I laughed at the bit about Jack Frost being mentioned, but frick. I don't know if it's just me speculating things, but I think Jeremiah is also warning us of something else other than the beast? Maybe I'm reading things wrong, but I'm so psyched.

Oh my goodness! I finally was able to decode the message and was about to make a post! I also got the second message and super excited to be included in this plot!! I feel important u. Hehe his cousin is Jack Frost? Keeping the candle lock in my inventory~
