As much as I like flinging snowballs at people, it's proving quite challenging to keep track of which people on my buddy list welcome a snowball fight, and those who really don't want them at all. So, while I wouldn't use an opt-out option myself, it would definitely save any risk of pelting the wrong people (I was unaware that some snowballs can still make it past the shield), and could also save some of the more unfortunate peltings of last year ;)

And just to say that I don't see why people should be told just to "avoid the forums" because they don't want to be pelted with snowballs - I know it was probably said tongue in cheek, but that's a bit extreme, no?

Actually, I was saying the other day that there should be an option to keep certain snowballs on your HA for an extended period of time! Often, it ends up looking a complete mess, but sometimes the results are quite fitting, sometimes even hilarious! :)

As for not wanting to be pelted- there's the shield, I guess- I didn't even know about it until now, lol- but I think it would be cool if there was a new item to help with this problem. A picket sign or some other message-type wearable that told whoever saw it that they want to be left out of the fight. There could even be more than one- there could be one for tempting a fight (Snowball Fight Champion- Engage at Own Risk, or something along those lines :P) etc. Hey, it's worth considering!

Asking for something toggleable because you cannot deal with a white lump on your avatar for two hours is also extreme.

It's not as graphically disturbing as the harvesting where I was 100% behind a toggleable option. It's a while lump, often funnily shaped on your human avatar, and it turns back to normal within the same day.

I'll partly agree with that, although some of last years snowball combinations were a bit.... graphically disturbing (for want of a better phrase) with the particular snowballs that were used.

Maybe if the shield could just be a 100% guarantee of no snowballs getting through (as I previously had thought it was), it would resolve the problem, seeing as we can layer it below the HA and background, so it doesn't have to be visible & mess up whatever outfit anyone wants to use?

I normally ask my friends since I know a few don't appreciate snowballs in the face. Usually, though, the people who don't care are the people throwing the snowballs since they should be well aware that the other person will retaliate in kind.

I always assumed the shield was similar to the monocle during Morostide. It's not 100% trick free and while it gets annoying to have a weird chicken in place of your fantastic costume, it's still bearable since it'll wear off eventually. The snowballs are less annoying than that.

I've suggested similar myself and it's something I'd love. NO MORE SNOWBALLS!!!! There are only two I love anyway

Or even if there could be a bat to go with the shield, to make it 99.99% likely that you'll reflect / swat the snowball back at the person who threw it (a bit like the Lizard Minion Repellant and Trap work better when in the inventory together)?

I'm probably weird, but I quite like the visual of someone trying to hit a snowball away with a rounders bat :P

There is nothing on site being 100%. Not even the cash shop monocle is not 100% against hexes.

Sometimes, not everything can and not everything should go your way.

Should we disable Sebastian Phoenix's random event because being taxed is annoying. Should we disable Ice King for people who don't battle?

Shit happens, and there is nothing that should make odds go to 0%, unless it goes against the PG-13 rating of subeta. Read, harvesting.

"unless it goes against the PG-13 rating of subeta" I have no idea what would count as PG-13 (different countries / organisations seem to have different opinions on that), but last year (to me at least) some of the snowball combinations were verging on breaking that.... but maybe I just live in the past, and what was PG-13 then, is more a U rating now.

And I have never suggested that everything could or should go my way.

I totally support this, and think its a great idea! I resorted to harvesting friends on my list that I knew where playing, or online at the time. :P

Thankfully I am maxed out on snowball throwing.

If a feature of the site is not used as it should be, report it via the ticket center.

It was done when there was a way to layer the BBQ grill item released for father's day to make something much more innapropriate.

Are you talking about the one snowball combination that made it look vaguely like a dick protruding from the avatar's head? Because Just saying

As far as the snowball thing goes, having the hair dryer at a set price from the start of Lumi would be the way to go over opting out, imo. You can always hide the snowball deflecting shield someplace on your HA now, which should also be bought back from the start.

Uh, I don't have a problem with the dinkle berries and dinkle flower lmao. I was trying to make a point that a snowball combination that vaguely looks like a penis isn't the worst example of that on this site, and just because some users throw those snowballs together and go "hurrrr dicks" it still shouldn't be opt-out-able because there are official items that imply things more explicitly. A lot of people think 13 year olds are completely unaware of the human body. Hint: especially in today's society, they're not. I've seen things get rated PG-13 because of "bodily humor", I think this should count.

An "opt out" option would be okay for me if it would automatically include stuff like Melody's Cottage or Mysterious Melody, too. You can't just pick the raisins out of a cake.

The thing that bothers me about the snowballs is getting all the events. lol I understand why we get them, it's just that I then get to play the "Try and delete the alert" game. I get enough of that with my normal events. lmao

This may have led me to pelting a friend two years ago more than I meant to. As my friend who I used to have snowball fights with no longer plays I just layer the shield and go about as normal.
