within this short time being able to speak German is impressive :) Or did you already studied/learned it before coming here? As you mentioned that a few Germans thought you were coming from here - in my region we have a pretty funny accent, we roll one's r's like Americans would do it ^^ Once a few of our village went on a vacation and only spoke in our accent - all the people thought we were from America trying to speak German ^^

never been to Sylt ^^ and never thought it can get this cold in Ruhrgebiet ^^ Been there a few times in winter but it never got that cold :D

This weekend was long, ahah. Though I did celebrate Thanksgiving, despite being all the way over here in Germany. We had mashed potatoes, stuffing, pretzels, and wurst... ahah
