Well, I do have it, but it's no longer telling me on my wishlist or other's wishlists.

Really hope that's a bug. It was a very convenient thing to have in the wishlists when it was time for Lumi and birthdays.
This was causing the site (and especially the wishlists themselves) to have extreme lag. It's been removed until we have a chance to write in a feature for being able to enable that on a per page basis.

So. Another half fixed thing. What was wrong about the "old" wishlist? Yes, you sometimes (especially with long wishlists) had a "bad" page first and had to reload again before the list showed. So what? It happens when you load big shops and maybe elsewhere too, where too much content needs to be loaded. It still loads upon page refresh. Split your long wishlists into smaller ones, and the problem is gone.
Why not remove the pagination again until you have your new code properly set and stick to the old system until then. Instead you remove a very important and helpful feature.
