Congrats on your name change! ^-^ I can feel with you, I am ulalena on all the online boards and it would feel strange to be another one. Yet the reason why you changed your former name to this one is lovely, I am a believer in life-long love and soul mates also!

My UN ´ulalena has a very deep and facetted meaning. It´s the name of a musical which shows the creation, transformation, rebirth and living of people from ancient Hawaiian times until now. Here you can learn about the musical:

The song ‘Ulalena is an adaptation of a Hawaiian Chant called ” ‘Auhea Wale Ana ‘Oe”, in which the author describes the beauty of the ‘Ulalena rain that falls on the slopes of Pi’iholo. The author likens the rain and beauty of upcountry Maui to that of the feeling of love for another. In Hawaiian, ulalena is a name with a special meaning. It refers to the Ha‘iku’s reddish-yellow twilight rain, and it´s actually a composition out of syllables which form the idea of a spiritual rain which comes down after a long period of spiritual dryness and suffering to nurture and caress all the people and let them bloom spiritually due to ulalenas care.

indeed my name has a history ^^ My ever first pet, a white Dzhungarian dwarf hamster, was named Chira - I got her from a friend of mine and she named her Chira. I really liked the sound of it, so I kept it and began to name me everywhere Chira After some time a few of my closest friends began to call me chi and that name became really important to me. Chi, also Qi, Ki, etc means energy, that energy that flows through your body. I experienced some really bad things in my life - and if I wouldn't have had so much Chi, I guess I wouldn't be able to write this now. So yes, I do believe, that the body has a soul, an energy that keeps us alive and I call it chi. Since that I name all my UNs chi and even sign all my paintings with chi (like this)

I chose the username Tobias after I read the divergent series. I really loved his character and how he transformed from a bullied little boy to a strong grown man. He turned his past and his weakness into his strength and into the fuel to keep going. Which is something I strive to do as well, but I got a long and slow way ahead of me.

Second reason why I chose it: as a child i read a book or saw a tv series with a droopy little dog called Tobias. I never found the book or the series back, but the name still has this innocent nostalgia to my childhood.

IMPORTANT : The contest will end October 26th at 11:59pm Subeta time... I was going to end it the 25th on my bday... But, I don't actually drink/party that much, except on my birthday... So, I don't really plan on being able to talk, let alone read and type... XD

It's a very pretty name... Probably because even though it's spelled differently, it brings to mind jewels... :) Wow, I don't think I'd have the patience to stalk a name that long... Very interesting! I love horror films, although no one seems to know how to make a good one anymore... XD The last two that really got me were The Strangers and The Descent... XD The ones that could really happen are the ones that scare me the most... ;P I am NOT going to EVER see Ouija, I can tell you that much... I am a spiritual person, and believe in things like that... And I used a Ouija board for years... And then my friend didn't put hers up right after we used it one night... And it was HORRIBLE... When you mess with the spirits, you have to respect them and put them "back at rest" so to speak, when you're done communicating with them... So, no movies about Ouija boards for me... XD That's also why I stopped watching the Paranormal movies... The last one I watched had a Ouija board in it, and I was FCK this sht... XD

As for my name...here's the definition of science:

There are several reasons why I chose it; the main is, simply put, that I love science and all that it stands for. I have always been in constant wonder of the world, and I harbour an intense curiosity for everything in it. I can hardly walk out the door without questioning the "why?" and "how?" of all that I see - from plants, to vehicles, to the human brain. Honestly, look anywhere right now, focus on anything, and just think about the processes involved in its creation. Even simple things, things we often take for granted. Even ourselves. Just think, in order for YOU to be created, two cells out of thousands had to combine, and before that, two people out of billions had to meet, and before, two sets of two cells out of thousands needed to combine - on and on until the beginning of us. And after you were born, all of your experiences, your thoughts, the sights you've seen, your emotions, your friends and family - everything had to happen at the exact moment it occurred, in the very way it happened, in order for you to grow to be this precise version of the person you are today. And everything has a story like this. Vast, intense, complex, frightening, amazing - wondrous. Science is the measure of that. Science says "I am on this planet, with the organic tools necessary - I wish to learn where, what, why, how, and who I am, and everything is."

To me, science is the greatest respect for all that is, and the most touching display of 'childlike' curiosity; we, as a species, want to learn all about everything. It is also the most bold, brash demanding WANT, but that's humanity for you ;). We cry out for understanding. With no 'parent' answering our questions, what can we do but search for ourselves? And I love that search. I would devote myself to it professionally, should anyone want me, and until then I will spend my time learning alone. It all matters, it all contributes, and it gives me purpose.

In sum, I named myself after it to a) pay homage to all that I adore most, b) remind myself of the sense of wonder I keep and the answers I seek, and c) give everyone else a glimpse of who I am.

Some years ago I was looking a name for a project. I wanted to make something related to the old languages that were spoken here in Mexico before the Spanish Conquest and Nahuatl (Or Aztec) is the most popular among the less popular languages nowadays in my country. When I was reading through the words I read Moyoleuhqui and instantly felt attracted by the word. Moyoleuhqui is a nahuatl word that means, in love. During that time I got to met the love of my life and everything, ever since, has been sweets and cakes and I am very happy with this even when times have been tough. So I stick with my username for most of my games, and of course, Subeta <3

Of course, the name I chose for my project was a totally different one (Sahuali Kaktin, which was something like spider shoes)

There's not much to say about my name. In the past, I used random names/things I liked then decided that I wanted something different and consistent. So the first thing on my mind was to chose my middle name. ^_^;

I picked Lilo because I like the Disney character because she's relatable for me. The art for the classic princesses like Snow White, Ariel, Belle, Mulan, etc. is really beautiful but I always found those princesses hard to identify with growing up. Lilo is cute and sassy. The watercolor art used in the movie is really lovely too. It's not a name with a deep sentiment but I like it all the same.

Ohhhh yes, ghosts are something I am absolutely terrified of so I think a movie like Ouija would totally get me. At least if it is a well made movie, like Dead Silence or The Conjuring - two movies that gave me a pretty rough night with not much sleep. lol Especially Dead Silence. XD

I still have to watch The Descent and The Strangers, gonna add them to my list of movies, they sound pretty interesting from what I've read. :D But you're absolutely right, there are not many really great horror movies in the "modern" times. I kinda prefer the older ones, most of them had far more atmosphere than the new movies. :)

My username has been with me since I discovered the internet (around 10 years old). To be exact it was created when I started playing Club Penguin xD They had some username suggestions for me, and one of them was 'scotlander' or something, but that had numbers at the back and I really don't like usernames with numbers, especially not is it was going to be my own. So I mixed and match words and for some reason the result was.. scotlette! Sometimes I get self-conscious because I know it sounds all cutesy and childish, but this name is NEVER taken on ANY game or site, which makes things extremely convenient for me ^^ Plus, it sounds nice! Though sometimes my friends see it and pronounce it as 'scott-let-tee' (I read it as 'scott-let'). I wish I could put some deep meaning into it. That'll be awesome xD Maybe you can help me with that?

Mine is a song title by Apocalyptica. I find them to be the best thing since sliced bread. I chose this specific one because the word means "polar night" in Finnish. I'm a creature of the night, so I feel that in a way it represents me quite well. That's about it. I like my usernames to have meaning, I don't always use the same one, but it most definitely always represents a part of me. :)

My name comes from a book I was writing in high school (which later was lost when my laptop was wiped -_-') I use it for most of my usernames that I created since I started writing the book all those years ago xP. I named the main character Amaya Wroe for the meanings behind the names; Amaya is a japanese name which means night rain and Wroe is thought to be a variant of Roe (like a roe deer). Her character was a water elementalist which is why I chose Amaya and she's fast (and cute >.>) like a roe deer. Even though I no longer write the story the character has always remained important to me and so I have continued to use her name for my usernames.

My name is as simple and bland as you can get: my name backwards. I no longer use the username I had a long time ago on this site (sttognirG (Gringotts backwards)) and I unfortunately forgot the username I had abandoned years ago when I signed back up last time, Futurama, so that's an inactive account. Maybe one day I can get that name back.

There isn't much of a story behind my username, unfortunately. It is my name in real life. I was so excited to see that it was available when I first joined Subeta, because I had just come from Neopets and I would of never been able to have my real name as a username there. It would've had to be Krystal__1234__ LOL :P

the story behind mine probably isn't teribly interesting (unless you don't mind hearing me dork out) but "wwixards" was actually orignally the name of my favourite pairing involving these cuties!!! the ship name is a combination for the girl(roxy) to make drunk typos (hence wixard) and the guy's(eridan) typing quirk of doubling the w's and v's which gives the "ww". wwixards! i find that i am deeply attached to the both of these characters - particularly roxy. it probably sounds really weird idk. but i enjoy seeing and drawing fanart of them being happy and cute together. it always brightens my day.

asides from that i really like the sound and look to it ;D

When I met my husband, his username for everything was ksafa. It stands for his full name, Khaled Saleh Ali Farhan Awwad. His name is even longer than that, but it'd get a little ridiculous if he had kept going. xD It's custom for Arabic people to have the names of all of their ancestors. I think that's pretty cool. ^^ I just wanted to use something that referenced that, and made me think of him everytime I look at it. So I just added lis to the end, referencing my mother's intials, who passed away in 2008. Now everytime I look at my username I think of two people who helped me to be who I am today. :3 Thanks for the giveaway! ^^
