Oh my god this is hard. I have so many ideas but some are too boring or not feasible uwu It was so tempting to go for capelets or fur coats but I must resist ;-;

Type of item: Headpiece?
Overlay description: Branches/antlers with dusted snow and icicles. Ideally they'd resemble branches sticking out like antlers with some snow coating them in small patches and dustings (a thin coating like these) and with some small icicles (like this).
Color of the overlay: A dark brown branch like those depicted in the references.
CI description: A pile of snow with a deer head poking out (and the antlers resemble those in the overlay)? If that's not ok then an icy/snowy tree, maybe?
Anything else?: They should have a pretty big span like the rather than a smaller type like the . I'm antler trash, so I always get a bit sad when I can't find a good antler to pair up with my outfit during the wintery months, since so many are flowery or don't fit the look correctly.

Type of item: Dress
Overlay description: A ballerina's tutu resembling the Snow Queen's in the Nutcracker! It would be similar to this one, including details like some of the snowflake beading and the snowflakish shape of the skirts.
Color of the overlay: Same as the reference, but maybe a lighter blue beading like the color used in so that the embroidery stands out more from the white.
CI description: A ballerina dancing with it on...? I literally can't think of anything else, sorry :c
Anything else?: One of my fond winter memories as a child was going with my family to see the Nutcracker ballet in San Francisco. Even though we went multiple times over the years it never got boring because of the beautiful costumes and dancing, so I wanted to transfer that here. Especially since a lot of the costumes are directly themed around winter like the Snow Queen's, it just fits perfectly!

Idea One
Type of item: Overchest (Jacket)
Overlay description: A military-inspired jacket like this, sort of like though ideally as open as possible on the chest, without sacrificing too much detail (so not buttoned on top like the drummer jacket.)
Color of the overlay: Pretty much like the picture, so red and gold details, though I'm going back and forth on whether the jacket would look better in black or navy. Your call.
CI description: A nutcracker doll or something similarly Christmassy, with a little jacket in the colors of the overlay.
Idea Two
Type of item: Shoulders (Cape)
Overlay description: A white open cape with armholes (like this but white), topped with a slightly less protruding version of these gold wings.
Color of the overlay: White for the fabric part (I was thinking keep a gap between the legs so that it could work with the , so as non-creamy a white as possible while still conceivably matching that) and a rich yellow gold for the metal.
CI description: To keep it wintery, I was thinking it can be one of those conical angel Christmas tree toppers, wearing some approximation of the cape.
