Raise th Red Lantern, no one has ever heard of it. It's an older Chinese movie, It says so much about the time.
Serenity is not freedom from the storm but peace amid the storm...

Benny and Joon. One of my favorite Johnny Depp movies!
Before Sunrise. I appreciate that it's not for everyone but I was really enchanted by the whole thing. It made me want to travel (even more than I already do) and spend all night wandering a beautiful city with someone I love.
The Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising. It's hilarious if you love playing D&D. :D
Antique Bakery.
It's a really cute Korean movie, I mean -it's not entirely cute lol! It's a psychological comedy with a gay guy and some hot men, oh, and cake. I mean...it's pretty amazing tbh lol!

Manos: The Hands of Fate and The Amazing Bulk
Both are hilariously bad.
"9" by Shane Acker, it's a great animated movie that really got swept away into the sidelines.
'The Room' (2003) - If you like truly terrible films, this is about as bad as it gets. Right up there with 'Manos' and 'Troll 2'.
Love is all you need.
Years back I encountered this horror movie, called Milo. It by far has slipped through the cracks of the world, not very many people have heard of it, in fact many get it confused by other movies that share the title. Good movie though. All the proper levels of creepy that make you lose sleep or at the very least, not want to walk down stairs.
Kill Command (Predator/Terminator crossover) Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead (Mad Max with zombies) Foodfight! (Animated 90 minute with brand mascots) innAPPropriate Comedy (Lowest gross movie ever?) Independence Daysaster (Not a parody, apparently)
I love using obscure references on my HA pet shot. I think Balthioul's is unrecognizable, I don't know what movie it came from...
I was also drawn to a movie called "Tamara". An high school outcast is killed by the popular clique. The twist is she practiced withcraft, and revives as one like them to exact revenge. I bashed my head trying to find it.
Stardust and Mirror Mask. Both so so good. They're fantasy movies and definitely worth a watch.

I have a few from buying random DVDs when Blockbuster and Hollywood Video were going out of business and everything was like 2$. xD
"Ju-Rei, The Uncanny" - A Japanese horror film that isn't amazing and slightly a rip off of "Ju-On" but I like this movie in it's own way and it's one of my "comfort movies".
"Dead Birds" - some indie horror film that combines western and horror
"Let the right one in" - I'm sure some people have heard of this one but it's still rather uncommon. It's the original Swedish version of "Let me in". This version is so much better in my opinion. ):
"Jump" A Chinese romance/drama that honestly just makes me smile.
Few people seem to know about Charlie Bartlett, and it is definitely in my top 5 movies. Such a great one.
"Snowpiercer" had such a wastebasket ending (IMO). But I was hooked by a misinterpreted back story. I thought global warming was the experiment.
The Princess and the Goblin
I remember watching this movie as a kid and it was interesting and weird and I loved it. But it had been so long since I have seen it. And every time I do happen to mention it to people, they never heard of it. It is an animated movie by the way.
The Gay Diplomat from 1931. Not only is this a movie no one else knows about, but it's a movie that if other people did know about it, they wouldn't like it. Being from 1931, it's not exactly top of the charts for anyone, paired with the fact that it did terribly in box office and reviews.
I saw it on TV one time a few years ago, and have failed to find it online for more rewatchings. I don't know why I like it so much. I just do. xD
edit: now I'm laughing because I didn't realize I had already written on this thread with the exact same movie back in 2014. Apparently I still have the same feelings about it.
Gaslights... It's well known by people who like old movies (It's Hitchcock, after all!), but among young people, it's often unknown...
I also like "She's the Man" in other languages.. The actress' voice is super annoying, and this was one of her only forays into film, so the film is kind of unknown and not that popular. But, if you watch it dubbed into practically any other name, it's great!
