Thanks for the reminder to go to the dance floor! I've gotten two extra bags of trinkets now. Yay! :) I'm glad you're all caught up! I have a bunch for next year, too, which is great. You never know when you're going to be busy and won't be able to participate much...
Sending dances now, and will switch to soon.
Good luck with the final hours of Masq! I need to go figure out what I need from the 2012 items!

Can I just rage again for a minute about what bullshit Neo is? I swear. Go and read the latest Editorial over there.
"We have also prioritized the account safety of those affected. Most, if not all, users who sent in tickets have had them responded to and many have already been given their accounts/items back."
Really? Because I have sent in a buttload of screenshots proving my CG'd side is mine and my ticket hasn't even been looked at, much less addressed.
As slow as Subeta is sometimes, at least I know my account won't be stolen. My last ticket over here was addressed within a week. It's like night and day with customer service and THAT is why I have a gold account here.
Ugh. SO glad I left. Although, sometimes I miss it.

Did your screenshots include you buying a bunch of stuff from the mall? Cause I swear, the only thing Neopets really prioritizes is money. I know what you mean, though. Neo and Subeta are both virtual pet sites, but that's pretty much where the similarities end, and Subeta comes out on top in every way.
Yeah, I pretty much only log on to Neo every couple of months or so, to ensure my account stays active and doesn't get purged.
Edit:
I'm curious, do you know if the recent round of account compromises are mostly people who use their Neo username/password to log in, or the Facebook credentials? When they introduced the Facebook thing I didn't link my account, but I'm wondering if it's more secure...
- So, I'm about 11,500 items away from the top level of the Hoarder achievement that's been retired this weekend & I'm running out of ways to find more items to buy. So, I'm looking for suggestions. So far, I've been using subetalodge, using the item search by restock location. I've gone through every shop listed & bought everything under 75K-100K that I didn't already have. Everything else goes in my wishlist for a second pass later on. Then I did keyword searches on the "notes" section. So far I've done "Melody", "Ikumoradeekanox", "Game Prize"... but I'm running out of ideas. I'm trying to spend as little as I can per item at this point, because raising money takes time & that's not something I have.
Does anyone else have ideas of "hidden" items that I can look for to buy? I'm still going through the apocalyptic apothecary right now, but it's my last shop. Then I'm going to spend all my stocked up recycle points & crystals.... dunno what else to do!!! ACK! I'd like to at least hit 40k if I can't make it to 45k.
On Subetalodge you can filter by rarity -- have you checked 175 (holiday) and 101/150 (the things that can be fragged now)?
- Oooh, I forgot about filtering by rarity. That should catch items I've missed in my other searches. so much clicking
I don't know the answer to your question but I think once you're logged in it doesn't matter which way you authenticated. (Although I can't help but feel fb authentication is less secure bc it's one more place that could be compromised. But that's just my theory.) The session cookie isn't supposed to store any of your log in info. Once you log in its like a pass to wander around the site as you. So in theory it shouldn't matter. But who knows about the quality of their code though...
Shops seem to be one of their weakest points on neo... I can't understand why it's been such a huge issue for so long.
I'm assuming you already thought of emptying your wardrobe?
My understanding is that the reason Neopets is vulnerable to cookie grabbing is that the session cookie that you get (when you log in via your Neo username/password) is not tied to your computer's IP address. I have no idea why they have not fixed this -- or at least I'm assuming they haven't, because I remember seeing Matchu (from DTI) ranting about it several years after the cookie grabbing started. So I'm wondering if the Facebook thing is more secure, because (hopefully?) all it's using is your Facebook login cookie. I assume, because the people who work at Facebook are not idiots and because half the world uses Facebook and puts all kinds of personal information on there, that the Facebook session cookies are far more secure.
Ah I see. I asked my husband (he's a programmer) and I guess neo could share a cookie with fb (which may be tied to ip address which could protect against cookie grabbers) but they could also only be using it at the login point so we'd be back at square one. So yeah, still a mystery. ): I'm sure someone knows.
- good idea! I'm not sure how many unique items I have in there, but every little bit helps! I should throw my vault contents in there, too, just to check.
eta: omg, there's not bulk remove from the new wardrobe?!?
Ick. That's no fun. I've never removed anything from wardrobe before. Looks like you can sort by rarity or user price though!
- vesnali is here & it's only going to be a week! Who's participating? Anyone have their eye on anything special in the shop? I am at a loss because now that my Hoarding-For-the-Achievement days are over, I guess I don't need one of everything!
I'm participating but most everything that I must have I've bought already with last year's points. I still haven't caught up on previous year's items and there are always lower priority items. Did you ever get the achievement before it retired?
- I got to 30k, but ended up at 33,995 / 40,000 before the shop system changed over. Made me sad, but emptying out my gallery has gotten me a TON more achievements just by putting stuff in collections & my wardrobe.
EDIT: My hoarding tendencies are hard to suppress... in case anyone's interested it'll cost 2,230 vesnali tokens to buy everything in the 2016 shop.
I'm participating, as much as I can anyway, but I probably won't be around very much. But I still have like 1700 coins from previous years. I love Vesnali because of all the colors and flowers but I never end up wanting much from Esther.
- I'm around until May 5, then I'm off on holiday, so I'll try to get all my flowering in before then.
