...so glad to be home
hiiii! I'm so glad you're home! Did you get the sticker I sent? That was from Drills, that wasn't your b-day gift :D Drills said I had to send you something, and I know you like holiday items + stickers, so I thought that would be good :*
Did you have fun? Where were you?
❤ Love the sticker, yes thank you ❤ I'm really glad to be home too, it's been a crazy long and busy weekend. Been home for 3 hours now, and barely unpacked at all. We drove up on friday to Auckland and went to Kelly Tarltons (penguins, mostly), and then on Saturday went to Armageddon Expo and was in horrible traffic getting there, and only spend a short time trying to push through the crowds (with the kids, a very bad idea) but I got to meet my friend since she came over to have a booth and sell some things. Then we left and went to the zoo (parking also a nightmare). Sunday, we left in the morning and on our way out we stopped at Butterfly creek then drove to Rotorua, and then this morning we left and drove home, but played mini golf before we left.
All in all we had fun, but the gps map that we used wasn't really up to date with the new road layouts and new roads/bypasses being built so some parts were a bit stressful to drive through. Tomorrow, drive the rental car to town and drop it off. The car was a nice car, but its fairly new, and imported so the middle console has a nice gps, different input methods and could play dvds/cds, radio... get tv signals and all that, but it was in japanese and could only get japanese station ranges. So most of the ride was quiet and the kids didn't appreciate that. :/
How've you been? How are you catching up with morostide things?
congrats on reaching your goal!
omg fun! I bet the kids had a blast too even if some of it was a hassle. I'm loling about the Japanese stations, though. Sometimes technology is too fancy for itself, haha. I can just see the girls going 'why does it sound like that though' lolol
I'm glad you got home in one piece! Now the fun part, getting everything back together :P
I'm doing well - I just got home on Friday myself. I've been up in Austin for most of the month, only home for about 5 days total. My grandma had a total knee replacement surgery on the 7th, and I've been up there helping out. My mom also drove in from Florida, so I've just been spending time with everyone and helping take care of my grandma and their house. They have a pretty big house and my grandma does almost everything - my grandpa can't cook or clean the bathrooms or anything, so they need lots of help! He has learned to do the laundry and vacuum pretty well, lol. And he empties the dishwasher when he gets up at 5:30 every morning XD Plus he's doing most of the heavy lifting with the rehab equipment they had to rent for my grandma's knee, so I guess it about evens out, lol. But she's moving around much better now, she is doing laps around the house with the walker they rented, and she starts rehab at the center tomorrow. They had a little over two weeks of in-home nursing and rehab that their insurance covered, which was awesome, because there was no way she could have made it to the center that soon after the surgery! I'm probably going to go back up this coming weekend, maybe, but not sure yet. The cats were pretty mad that I was gone so long, and I still haven't heard the end of it from them, haha.
thank you so much!
Nah, we couldn't even pick up any stations, the FM range was 22-62 instead of 88-107. :/ It was a rough ride in silence.
I'll post photos probably tomorrow on facebook :)
Aww, I'm glad to hear that it sounds like your grandmother is recovering well from everything! I'm sure they also liked the extra company, or is she a bit frustrated that she can't do everything she normally does yet? I hope she continues to do well with the rehab :)
