No, I haven't yet, I was looking for them though but they don't seem to exist in my local book stores. I probably will buy them online some when I have enough money to spend on those things again.

Yeah, I'm definitely shocked by how much content there actually is. A pleasant surprise, of course. And children aren't the target audience, which is a nice change.
Oh really , did you know some of the original staff or the later people? I didn't know anyone but I knew of them.
how did you find out about subeta? I can't even remember how I did.
that is so weird considering they're really popular right now. Do you live in a small conservative town or something? I was thinking maybe they would try to prevent those books from being sold or something.
Oh gosh, I can't even remember now. I probably searched for something like "sites similar to Neopets". I remember I was always looking for new sites to play on, but I rarely found any that I really enjoyed. Either that, or it was probably recommended to me in an article or by a person, or something.

Haha I was just wondering because I'm pretty sure I googled the same thing. :P Now I feel slightly less silly.
It's not a silly thing at all! I Google stuff like "sites similar to ____" all the time if I'm looking for something better than the site I'm currently on but have no idea where to look. I got into Neopets because of a recommendation by a cousin of mine, but gameplay there is not very great. It was so hard for me to make any NP, especially through restocking (which is one of my main sources of income here). Are the malls still really big at Neo?

Gosh I am so awful at the neo games, played for 10 years and never got a trophy lol. I pretty much only do stocks there now because it's nearly impossible to lose money if you're patient. There are still malls but not nearly as many, and people don't pay top dollar (4 mil NP) to get the top spots on the notice board anymore....the most anyone pays is only like a mil.
That's really a change from when I played frequently. I remember I tried to get into a mall, but my store wasn't big enough. One of the best things about Subeta is not having to pay for item slots in shops! Really. Just checked - the most expensive notice was for 1.6mil about someone looking for a stamp! I did get a trophy for writing a Neopian Times article.
I also remember when you weren't allowed to mention off-site articles at all! Man, so much nostalgia.

Yeah, that's why I thought I'd find them here too, but oh well ... Actually I live in the capital of Austria so I should be able to find them somewhere but nope Maybe I'm just blind or something O.o
Talking about trophys, the only ones I ever got where those AC trophys and the NQ II one because I was so bored I played it through in less than one week xD

I hadn't even noticed that you don't have to pay for shop space! That's awesome. I tried to write a few stories for the NT when I was like 10 and never got in. :P
Well if you do find them I highly recommend them. :) I got about a quarter of the way through NeoQuest I, and glitched or something because one of the characters wasn't giving me the dialogue they were supposed to, so I couldn't continue. Bah.
That's a great way to earn income - restocking. It does take a while to handprice your items, but it is very much worth it. Selling items from Shinwa quests is also a great way to earn a lot of SP. I like restocking from the Food Market and the Book Nook. Get Mugged! is also a good store too.
I think I wrote a holiday-themed article for the NT and submitted it for fun - it got accepted! I'm really proud of myself for getting my article in there - although it wasn't very good at all.

I'm a Neo refugee as well, but now have no interest in going back. I found this one by googling something similar, and found Subeta in June. It took me a few weeks to get the hang of it, but I love this site.
Ow, that's bad, I hate it when things like that happen but well, it's Neo after all so ... I'm not too surprised -.- I never really played NeoQuest I, I started but after maybe five minutes I did something else xD But it also took me a long time to finally start with NeoQuest II and actually I just wated to get the avatar with the robo bunny but when I got it I was already near to the end of the game so I just continued ^^

So do you yourself hand price items instead of using the auto pricer? Cuz as a full time student with only a part time job and rent to pay, I am 100% not interested in spending real money on this site haha, even if the benefits seem awesome. Although I guess if I get (sP) rich enough I can also buy CSC that way?
Hello, it's good to see another post-neo person! Your pets are really good for only having been here a few months. I'm just going to have one for now. :P
Soooo much clicking with NeoQuest I....not sure if it was the same experience for NQII? Ugh I was really bad at getting avatars too. I just did the clickable ones lmao.
I do handprice. I usually only put one or two items in the store to restock - but I make sure that I can get a good amount of profit. The most items that I've handpriced is probably 10-15?
You can buy CSC with SP, but it does cost a fair bit. I haven't spent any of my CSC yet, but I've earned it in this manner.

Oh okay, I thought you meant like, pricing hundreds of items by hand. I finally went through a fraction of the items I've accumulated from questing and threw them into my shop haha. I may or may not try and actually learn what's good to restock. It seems like the shops are a lot less busy here than at neo. (I've seriously heard of people who play neo that get up at 3 in the morning to restock because there's less people to compete with...)
Also thank you anonymous sender of that Miracle Potion omfg???? Y'all are too sweet around here
Oh no, no, no! There are some items that aren't worth my time to handprice when they will only go for like, 100sp and be hard to sell.
Quest items (especially Shinwa items!) are good to sell, since you get them for free. The shops are definitely much less busy, but they still all have their "valuable" items and there are "better" shops to restock at. I was recommended to try the Food Market and the Book Nook as beginning restocking locations, so you may like that. I also used to do Get Mugged!
Try to restock items that are '1 in stock' because they are probably worth more than something with '11 in stock'. You can CTRL (or Command on Mac) +F to find the items quickly. Also, Subeta moves slow enough that you can sometimes Shop Search items to see their value before buying them, if you are unsure about the values. I like to restock when the shop is completely full with items because there is more likely to be an item that is truly valuable.
Items that are requested for quests are good to sell, and items that are "collectables" are good as well - by collectables, I mean food, wearables, stickers, plushies, beanbags - items that people would want.
I was never that successful on restocking with Neo (and I've never heard those restocking stories before!) but picking up restocking is much easier than on Neo. Being successful at it is also much easier.

Thanks for all the super awesome advice!! What I started doing today was if I was buying a quest item and there were multiples going cheaper in NPC shops then I'd go ahead and buy all there was to put the rest in my own shop.
xD I join the crowd of previous Neo players, I think my account is almost 14 years old by now. Really was getting tired how things were going over there and am super happy here! There's a lot more freedom here to be yourself, the community is great if you give them a chance. There's a lot of changes happening right now but one thing I adore is that the team here keeps us in the loop. :)
If there's anything I can help you with please don't be scared to shoot me a comment or ping! ^^
:') Thank you so much! For having my back and for the stickers. Which I still don't understand. I've gathered that someone has to stick them to you for you to get it but that's about all I know. :P
Seriously the positivity and generosity here is overwhelming. I feel like this kitty right now.
gif warning
:) Yeah sadly the only way to get stickers is to have people send them to you, they automatically go into your album. There are forum threads where people make a chain to stick stickers on eachother. Forewarning: Any plushies, beanbags, stickers, trading cards, etc that go into albums or collections cannot be removed. So if you're planning on putting it on display somewhere you can make a gallery which is under the same features as a shop. If you want to see your albums and collections they can be found in the games section, you can get prizes and things for collecting so many of each. :3
Quick tip: If you want to move several items instead of clicking them one at a time, first make a shop and use the quickstock feature. Super handy even when you don't want to stock things so you don't have to click everything one at a time.
Also cute gif! xD
