i like both; they both have different advantages tbh. the new one is obv easier on you to do recolours with, and looks fabulous, but i think it might almost be too realistic to mesh with how the base itself looks. the lighting is a lot more dramatic on the hair than how it is on the base, especially vs your old style.
it might help to see it in plat and other established colours we're used to, but as it looks right now i prefer the old style, since it fits better with subeta's shading/clothes/etc.
EDIT: OK I SAW THE 4TH EXAMPLE I TAKE IT BACK FIOUHWUGHWG idk why that made such a difference but it did
thank you! I'm glad it's still somewhat recognisable as mine!
girl I can't tell you how many times I tried haha The issue with having lots of single strands is that it will invariably make the whole thing darker (the more lines there are, the darker it is overall), which is why there's a bit less lines. I've indeed been compensating with more highlights, but I finally tried something from scrap for once, as opposed to trying to alter a technique I already knew! I'm glad you like it n_n
can I see a light color to another light fade? I feel like it'd be easier for me and perhaps others to see whether your goal would be accomplished of your new shading style to be less flat when it comes to lights.
otherwise yes I like this :) but i prefer your older style more! your light fades never failed to make me go "wow"
your style can be recognized anywhere and I like that you're experimenting now
ps I know this isn't about fades per se but I love your fades as they are now.
and I believe Varsna is right about matching the subeta norm
Gorgeous as usual Cathii! o I like that more than the 1/2 & 1/2 :3
I think this looks wonderful! I love the fluffier look, and I can assure you the style is still recognizable. Like others have said though, it might be nice to show us a lighter recolour, especially since you said you had the most trouble with those.
ahh i see! well all of your styles are gorgeous regardless. id be interested to see what plat looks like in this style too!
im not sure yet, but most likely I will, since I usually auction designs and sell sets at flatprice ;;
thank you mdear! I was a bit concerned over the fact that it is so fluffy, it's almost too soft to really pass off as cell shading. I'll try improving the strands so they are more defined I think. The lighting can definitely be toned down, I agree it's pretty... flashy haha
here's a platinum!

i think that plat is really, really pretty. i def think the lighting on the plat could stand to be toned down, but overall its really nice!
I'm looking at the plat recolor and looking at the wig Blazhy is wearing (because I recognize your shading style from anywhere) and I'm leaning more towards your older shading for your lights. :/ Have they actually been denied for being too flat before? your older style contrasts better with other items than I feel like it does in that preview almost feeling sorta outta place.
// I feel like I have the unpopular opinion so I hope I'm not pressing any buttons. :/
YEAH i saw the brown -> blonde ombre and i'm like naw that looks perfect, so. B) and it looks p rad in plat, as well. would it be easy for you to fiddle with the contrast of the shading? because otherwise i'm totally sold on the new one now, LOL! (AND it still definitely looks like your style, by the way! <3)
here's less contrast, paired to Blazhy's current wig (a really old one I did years ago!)
Pale wigs have always been my bane, I swear. It's the reason why I didn't do this 4 years ago, because I bumped into the same problem back then haha qq

I know what you mean! Actually yes, my wigs have often been denied for sticker effect, flat effect etc. It's been a problem mostly because it lacks depth. I've been able to counter it so far, but I've often questioned whether having more 'volume effect' would be better overall!
YUP I'M DOWN TO CLOWN WITH THIS  it's gorgeous and imo works well with the base/clothes; that was my only minor worry and u poof'd it! c:
okay yeah! I love this :') it's gorgeous and soft.
I am super curious though, as to how this wig would look white (like gypsum white)
and in the off chance you ever started doing commissions again, would the person be able to choose which style they preferred most or think would suit their particular request best? I'm only wondering because I was talking to a friend offsite and I guess we both had our doubts but you p much just blew mine outta the park.
gorgeous. so gorg
arts by the amazing
I personally liked fades in the older style better than the newer style, but then again my opinion could change at any time with more exposure to the new style. I still love your old style, but there is always room for change and I say do what you like and what is better for you. :) I definitely love the two-tone style a lot.
I love this new style of shading. It looks softer and like others have said fluffier. To me it looks more realistic, not that the other style didn't. But I think I prefer this style. Of course you do what you feel more comfortable with and what is easier for you.
That´s beautiful new shadings! <3 I am a fan of your "old" style, too, though. I love the single strands there, it makes the hair look so realistic, like in RL! ^-^ You style is visible in the new ones, too. Perhaps look from design to design? Some perhaps call for the old one and some for the new shading!

I love this new style!! The middle wig is my faaaaavorite. :)
Oh, that's gorgeous! I especially love the hair on the HA's left side. It looks so fluffy, I want to touch it o
The contrast might be a biiit too much for me, but that's a fairly minor complaint. And for this wig in particular I think the hair just below the chin on the HA's right side is too dark? But other than that, A+ work as usual!
