Scallions vs Green Onions depends on what part of the US you are in too. East coast area tends to refer to them as Scallions (hence I know that term) but here where I am now in Missouri they call them Green Onions so I know it too. I don't care where you are from, you have some sort of accent. LOL Mine is a mixture of Missouri and New Jersey now. It is rather crude to say the least. HAHA.
Im excited to see how this works for you. and WOW 2000 items. DANG!
I, of course, saw that after I'd posted haha. I signed up with the site and have set you as my first (only) followed person. I read through and I think it seems really fair personal. Decent break up in the tiers and a good escalation of rewards :)
pff well I have bad news. Apparently, being a non-USA resident I need to fill a form since I would be getting a US income from a non-USA location. It can take around 6 weeks to process, if all goes well (I'm also not certain of other outstanding fees).
I'm currently getting lost in what to do with the form & proofs of citizenship & where to send.
So while I sort that out, unfortunately I'll have to put the Patreon project on hold. I was all excited about it, too ;;;
(of course why I did I think it would be simple, I should have checked first thing lol qq )
Ohh I like the $25 tier a lot haha. I feel like it'll be filled before I get a chance to get my credit card out though ;_;
I think the prices are fair but I'm not quite sure I'm clear on a few things? For example; the 'per two weeks' thing means that if we pay x amount of money, we get those 'prizes' for two weeks, and then would have to pay again? is that right? Also, the $10 confuses me a bit too! So, we can preclaim 1 per month. If we pay that $10 once, and do not renew it two weeks after, will we still be able to preclaim if we haven't used that preclaim yet? Is there an expiration date on our preclaim prize?
The $25 one, just to make sure, with the commission part; one will be completed by the end of the month excluding wigs and BGs. Does that mean wigs and BGs are completely out or there would be a longer wait time?
Lots of questions haha
You would think that sites like that would have ways to convert currencies to some degree without the forms. ALSO look into it real careful cus you may have to pay income taxes on the money to the US.
If you pledge x amount, it gets taken from your account automatically every 2 weeks. Personally I'd just post the content every now and then, so that it tallies up at the end of the month!
For the $10, I'll admit I'm unsure - I thought about it for the whole month, not in breakdowns of two weeks. It's something to think about (although im leaning towards the preclaims not stacking every month, since I doubt you'd one day pop up and say 'im claiming all 5 months for 5 designs'!
For the $25 one - yes it means they are always excluded! The $50 includes wigs but not backgrounds (mainly because backgrounds are collabs with my bf and he doesn't always have as much time as me, so I can't guarantee the deadline. I can guarantee my own time, but not his sadly!) We have been discussing about it though, to see if it is possible to make a collab tier one day!
But like I posted right before you, Patreon is now on hold for me ;; Being a non-USA resident, I must fill in a form with proof of citizenship and all the jazz, which can take around 6-8 weeks to process :/
I remember Keith saying once that they only hired USA residents on Subeta, because hiring someone outside was a hassle, paper-wise. Now i know why lol
I'm still reading through it, especially the income taxes, thanks!
Ohh, I've never used patreon (signed up just for you XP) so I'm sorry I'm unfamiliar with it! Oh wait, if it automatically takes out the money every two weeks, does that mean the limited slots will not be reopened at the start of every two weeks? Aw man! I had the train of thought of "well, even if I don't get in the first 5, in two weeks I'll have another shot!" so that's not the case, huh? :(
Well I suppose it'll be figured out more later on when you can go forward with this! It is a grand idea, so hopefully all of that effort will pay off!
aw im sorry! Believe me, I was just as frustrated when I discovered the form thing, I really wanted to start Patreon this weekend ;;;;
For the slots - nope they are not re-opened, they are allocated to one user until they drop out!
I'll look into it some more during the weekend, see if I can do anything about the form and figure out how long it'll take approximatively!
/sells all my personal belongings to help support Cathii
8D!
This sounds like a really good idea in your case. Would I have to sign up for Patreon to donate?
YIKES! 30%! OUCH! So for every $50 you would lose about $15 to just taxes if that is to be read right. AND on top of it the conversion from USD to Canadian Dollars. EWWW!
Squirtle is away visiting a friend until tomorrow morning but I just told her about this and I'm pretty sure we're both %100 on board with this and really stinkin' excited.
aw im sorry to disappoint you, but im currently re-questioning the patreon thingy ;; I need to fill a form since im a non-USA resident, which takes around 6 weeks, and the foreigner tax is 30%, which is so much ;;;;;
i know right? ;; It's such a freaking high tax. 15-20% okay. But 30% D:
Oh my god that blows. Us Canadians never get the cool stuff. /kicks
It's too bad you can't offer a similar program through Subeta some how, but I'm assuming that would be sooo much work for you to arrange, organize and keep up with ;A;
It was a really awesome idea!
Hey I understand, I'm Canadian too :3 We can't have things
That is horrible. :( Yea they only take about 20% or so from our checks. Granted you may be able to get some of it back at the end of the year if you file taxes...BUT even more paperwork .
I'd help out when I can if you have a Patreon, and they use PayPal?
... and, Oh My God. You're Canadian ? I had no idea! :D:D:D:D I ISH TOOO. ðŸ
