I always make sure I stay on some sort of budget so I don't buy myself broke. I try to recycle through items I already have to avoid buying new ones. I have a big wardrobe, but even now I still favor maybe 100 items that I use almost all the time. I tend to buy items I know I'm gonna use more than once and can use with items I already have. When I first started out, my friends lent me wearables I didn't have money for. There are a lot of awesome items you can buy at the main shops like the simplistic flats and the sheer pantyhose.

I also believe there was a board made for people on a budget that need nice cheap items. It may be out of date but it can still be useful.

Yeah! I'm wearing the simplistic black flats right now. I've had them for a while, but they go with a variety of outfits if you plan your pants right.

The flats are really great to wear by themselves or use in layers. I used to layer them with the flip flops months ago, they had a neat effect. I really don't wear them with pants, I use them for outfits with leggings, skirts or shorts, but they could work with pants.

I don't think your board is repetitive. That board was used to list cheap items a lot of people liked, yours is asking people how they personally budget.

A lot of more expensive items can be substituted for cheap ones. I make a lot of HAs on Subetahq and have another tab open for searching for the items to make sure everything's in the price range. Sometimes I do it as I go - puts a damper on creativity but does make sure I can afford something I sort of like. Rofl.

I do this as well! ^_^ My favorite things I found for cheap yesterday was the long black tulle skirt & Black high waisted skirt but I try to jump on things that go for around 100k a piece. Probably wouldnt be possible if it were for wizard/sara quests and those seemingly expensive bits of paper I find laying around randomly though. O_O

SOME TIPS: when you're low on money, don't let it get below about 10k. if you have 10k, you can do wizard quests, and they reward you well! you can use the tokens on vending machines and sell the things you get in there for a great profit. that's what i do, and then i can go on a shopping spree! and i still am a cheapo, i'll probably never save up for anything over 500k.
