Hello! I love making little charms and figurines out of clay. Do you? What kind of clay or techniques do you favor? Let's share our advice and our creations~
Flapjack and Bubbie
Sailor Moooooon~
Dratini
I use Sculpey III, and my favorite brand of Acrylics are Apple Barrel. ....I recently found out that if you get super glue on Sculpey glaze it bubbles up and forms really tough little crystals that are impossible to scrape off of your clay. D=
Aw, your charms are so cute! ^^
I don't make charms, but I like to work with clay a little bit. The last thing I've made with clay is a chibi spider, with big adorable eyes, and a mouse.
Thank you! I'm not a fan of spiders in real life, but I bet they're much nicer in clay form.
Yeah, in real life, they are my worst fear. Haha. But I made a chibi one, it's eyes are all cute and big, and it has a really big grin. XD
Cool! What kind of clay do you use? And doesn't clay say flexible? THose look hard and shiny - like plastic...
Cleared - Oversized
Clay dries out unless you keep it moist Nebula. There not plastic, and the shiny is probably from paint. You can get shiny paint. My mouse that I made is major shiny-ness ahoy. Lol.
@ Nebula
I use Sculpey III brand modeling clay, and it bakes in the oven so it gets very hard. :3 The shiny look is from a glaze that I use.
By the way Neph, I luff your HA.
Aw! You did a Dratini!
Thanks Yuki! I like yours too, it's dark but cute. :3
I've made a couple of pokemon before, but everyone loves Dratini the most. the little ear wings took forever though. I don't know why but it was just a pain to make the shapes, lol. I wish I was better at sewing, it'd make such a squishy stuffed animal. >w<
Haha, thanks.
It would make a very cute stuffed animal as well. x3 And hey, at least you made it, and got it done! =]
True that. Never give up, haha!
Always keep that in mind to what you said about the never give up. x3
Of course, it's a very important thing to remember. C:
[edit]I added some new charms to the top.
O///O Th-Thank you Caitlin
- I've had that problem too, sometimes the glaze will make reds orange, but I'm not sure why.
- Thank you! I use white sculpey, bake, then paint over. =D
[edit] Aw, Cherish, I like the Jirachi you made. I faved it on DA, is that your first time working with clay?
xD Awesome, awesome. Do you have any pics of stuff you've made?
