here's one more attempt at refining/smoothing...its probably difficult to see, but I dulled the shine, darkened some of the shading, darkened the lines and made the reduction a bit smoother I hope that's okay!

Bluhhhh I don't even know. I'm awesome at drawing and coloring hair, but as soon as I try to ink it for here, it looks like junk. When I'm drawing normally, I just paint the hair in. This extra step is just killing what little talent I have.

SO UH. Inking tips?

oooh well I'm not sure if this will help, but what I usually do is I ink the hair instead of painting it...so basically, draw in all places you may normally shade instead, and also make them very thin. You should also keep in mind that the hair will be shrunk down, so you should make sure you don't draw a LOT of details, just a few. Once I'm done lining, I colour the lineart with the colour I'd shade it with. This makes it look a lot like painting, so yeah, I hope that helps ahaha

PRETTY MUCH AHAH I am experienced with both lining and painting though, but I like to cut corners here and there eheh, esp since CW are small, its hard to put a lot of work into them and still preserve it when it is reduced

and yeah, I know what you mean. Just try not to go too overboard with details, considering the actual thing is only about 125x125 px in the end! (just the hair I mean)

I kind of suck at inking in general, so yeah. That may be a part of it.

I like it :) But I think the shading could still be a lot darker at the front of the hair, just under the area where it "folds" over :)
