And he chose Revolver Ocelot? Son I am disappoint
Hey, when you're 18 it's easy to pass up a polka dot hat. I'm sure he regretted it.
Aw, bummer! You would think they'd notify you of that change when they denied it for the name, right?
, I am equally stumped! D: Maybe change the beret's texture to canvas or something? Idek. :C It's a generic military beret, come on. D:
It's the fact it got turned down for changes to /subtle/, the reference isn't particularly obvious =_= I love your forumset btw, it's creepy and beautiful =P
I still call BS. :C I mean, it's a military beret, referenced or not, a military beret is a real-world item which isn't a military beret if you change too much. Let me ask dad about his old berets. o:
And thank you so much - are you talking about that image with "Hello Princess"? That one is one of my personal favourites; very fitting for Pandemic and all too, but also for the character itself.
Exactly. A direct fan-item would be if I'd drawn it plain red BUT a plain red beret isn't singular to that fandom/character. However the badge that we've added is a bit more particular, still it's hard to change something that small, that much and still have it readable as a reference. Please do, it would be nice to get some insight, maybe there is something I can add in.
Yes, by I think?
I only noticed the FOXHOUND reference now, FFFFF, but still. And I'll check, their beret sometimes has a badge too, but I'll have to see the particular ones, if he could find them. o: I'm sorry to hear that you have to go through this hassle!
And yes. D:
Your reference is too subtle. Make it more obvious... then change it. =|
You are not the only one. Here's to getting the new badge done today, once I've stopped shivering from my bike lessons (totally fell over the handlebars XD).
That's exactly how I see their logic (which is totally hogwash, if you ask me!)
Oh wow, are you okay? :C Get yourself to a stable condition before worrying about this! D:
I was FINE with their logic until those damn mittens were revamped (it's the little things).
Haha, yeah I'm fine, just bruised my knee. I managed to go up the curb, pretty much stopped okay but clipped my knee on the road sign, it toppled me sideways, I slid down the bank and had to drop the moped or go into a tree, but I ended up going over the handlebars. For not actually hitting anything with the vehicle... it was a pretty impressive stop. A cup of tea and I'll settle down and my arm will start behaving again =}
Tell me about it. Goodness, DAT FADED RIGHT GLOVE.
Yikes, still sounds nasty, if you ask me (is it ironic that I am fine with running a motorcycle at fast speeds, yet refuse to do it with a bicycle yet?) But really, some fractures just go unnoticed, but I really do hope your arm and all get better soon!
It angers me. I was surprised it didn't get fixed actually, some people were pretty pissed off about it.
My knees are kinda... funky anyway, one joint is a bit too loose the other is too stiff =_= idk I'm falling apart, I think if I'd done anything really bad I wouldn't have been able to stand up prods it na, just bruised. I couldn't stop laughing when I did it. At least I didn't drive into a lorry, I was convinced I would. First time on a (land) vehicle of any type as a driver, I think it could have gone worse =P Fast(er) speeds are a bit better, more control and less wobbling about =| my teacher kept telling me to slow down when we were driving in circles about the car park, but every time I did I toppled over. Not that I was going /fast/ mind you.
I was really upset with that myself, and of course they'd go all, "but we as official artists have a right and privilege to deviate from custom wearable rules!" I understand if it was just that, but they also violated the style used in all other items! I know of no other item here in Subeta which has that kind of lineart. :C
D: That isn't good, I have a friend who has problems with her knees because one of her legs are longer than the other (and by a lot,) so she literally walks imbalanced. I have the odd tendency to laugh in that kind of pain, most especially if it's like a chemical burn or something else, and accidental literal slips down a flight of stairs equally make me burst into laughter (it's weird, I know, but I think the laughter is a defense mechanism I've developed over the years for extreme pain.)
Still good you didn't go into a lorry though! And that's true, I can manage to skid or have the vehicle tilted to either side, and have little problem with it, compared to balancing in slow speeds. D: My first time on a bike without the training wheels was a bit of hell, until I found out that I seem to keep my balance better when I'm faster.
I'm going to start watching the new item releases more carefully. I can understand if they want to set a standard of artwork on the site. But in that case EVERYONE should abide by those rules. Bean did with her CWs, I don't see why official items don't too. Or are they admitting that the standards are awkward in their backwards way? It's a shame actually, the site artists are so talented, I hate it when silly things like this become a bother =S
Most of my joints are like it, it's like I'm /almost/ hyper flexible, one side of my jaw for instance is quite tight, but the other sometimes clunks like it's loose in the joint, my hips are a little stiff, but I have to wear boots to support my ankles because they're a bit too flexible. It's very annoying X_X but my knees are the worst because it's a high wear area, and I've slipped and whacked them (e.g. ice skating) a few times. Most of the time it's okay, sudden change in weather to damp and they'll ache like hell, I can tell if wet weather is coming, I used to think that was a myth when I was a kid... But apparently not XD
I've heard people say that before, I wonder why laughter occurs like that, maybe it takes the edge off or something, I just go really quiet when I'm in pain, really bad pain that is, more than stubbing your toe anyway =X which can be a problem because any one who doesn't know me will try and approach before I've had a chance to check myself over and relax a bit, and I don't like to be approached when I'm hurt, it's a threat ^^; because you know EVERYONE WANTS TO ATTACK ME WHEN I'M IN PAIN totally sensible reaction ¬_¬; the subconscious is weird.
I never really had a bicycle of my own. I learnt to ride at a friend's house when I was very young and fell into the hedge whenever a car came within a quarter of a mile XD then I didn't ride for YEARS, but the other year a friend of mine brought his bike down to the park and I stole it for a bit and took to it like a duck to water. I've found that before, I need to leave something for a while and come back to it or something... The inertia keeps you stable that's what it is. Slower, less energy, less energy is needed to change its direction.
[edit] Oh Christ, now you've got me talking XD
[edit]
This is what I've got dies hybridizing two logos is MUCH easier than trying to make up a new one.
And red doesn't work any more OTL
If the blue looks freakish on the beret I might try a plain black bg instead of the blue.
Very sorry guys, I'm in and out these days. The badge looks great! I swear if they find something in this one its BS. I like the one with the golden outline (:
I'll probably respond back Friday (HUGE project due) but great progress!
It's perfectly alright, and I have to concur! The one with the gold badge looks AMAZING. Good luck with your project too!
Pfft, I LOVE it when I get people talking. I failed to respond though, since your ping got buried in all my events (I normally work my way down my events, rather than working from bottom to top), since I ended up falling asleep on the keyboard from fatigue.
True, I've actually been talking about my observations with friends, and... it's slightly disappointing, because the newer releases and revamps are creative, albeit different from normal site rules. That's another reason why I feel bad for misinterpreting ; she was the kind of admin who dealt with the CW process just like any normal site user, and decided to follow the CW guidelines, instead of taking the liberties that she would be allowed to take as a staff artist (even if arguably, her CW wouldn't be accepted without complying in the first place.)
It was stated that CW standards differ from the standards set on official staff artists (I understand some aspects of this, such as Keith not really wanting people to get "two items in one" (as with the cases of wigs NEEDING indications of the hair somewhere, so that they can't be extensively used as wearable TC items), but not so much other aspects, such as placing more restrictions (it's okay to demand that they're up to Subeta art styles and standards, but what if an official revamp itself violates the older rules?) I really dislike when these things have to be a huge fuss.
And oh wow; I always wanted to have that kind of body which was flexible, as I was fascinated by gymnastics for a while. I regret that now; patients have told me how painful it tends to be with how unstable their joints seem to be. One of them said she was really prone to having them dislocated too, even with relatively weak impact. It's not a myth, there are a lot of biological make-ups which could cause it. For you, it's that very thing, but for those of us who don't have a body as flexible, our sensitivities lie with "dolor" responses; for whatever reason, my head would hurt even if the temperature change in the room would only be approximately 1 degree Celsius, especially if abrupt. You can just imagine how badly my head aches if I keep moving between airconditioned areas and the hooooot outdoors/controlled-temperature/open laboratories.
Possibly. For most other pain, I will normally keep quiet and maybe just gasp (not really a regular gasp, but I can't describe this in English, OTL), especially if it's just a small burn or something. It's not weird if you ask me, it's a fairly normal instinct. I mean, other mammals and animals for that matter will refuse to be approached while hurt/injured/in pain; they will construe it as a predator/captor seeking to devour them or something, or at least put them in more harm. I have the same tendencies to go on "flight", even when injured, as long as somebody comes near me.
I only borrowed bicycles from the park or from a friend; the motorcycle I use belongs to my cousin, but she lets me ride it from time to time. And that actually makes sense; I'm not very adept with physics though, so I fail to take note.
Onto the new seal, I really love the work you've put into it! Here's to hoping they SERIOUSLY approve it this time; I wouldn't understand it if they wouldn't. :C
(Oh my, sorry for the length of this! D: You got me stalking as well.)
What think of the blue?
(Hope your project is going well by the way =3)
I do the same thing, it's a terrible habit =< I have so many pings... I wish there was a way to set it so they updated at the bottom, I'd remember to reply to the older ones first then.
I never really thought about it, but that may just have been that I wasn't fully aware that she'd made that bg (I'd not seen the other items until she posted them all on her thread), I'd heard it was her but not really fully registered it. I guess since the items looked like they complied to me, I didn't, and don't, have a problem with them. But I find it hilarious that if we're being held to higher standards, then the CWs are going to end up the preferred way to dress, it'll force the official work to be better (which sounds derogatory, but some of the items we already have are amazing, I have no idea how they work in such tiny details). I dislike the fuss, but I dislike the fact there /needs/ to be one, if it was something that could have just been missed in the rush to revamp (uneven lineart or 'grey' shading or something), but those mitten items really stand out, even among other official items, that shouldn't have been let through.
Wow, I don't envy you, our classrooms have vents which kick in around 24[sup]o[/sup]C, and it's outside air, in winter, at an airport ;_; a coat, scarf and jumper is not enough. I know now that pressure changes will effect the joints, but heck you're a lot more knowledgeable than I. (Then English isn't your first language? What is, if you don't mind me asking?) No I've never really wanted to be double jointed, I'd like to be more flexible in a general sort of way... And I suppose it could be useful if you could be like that bird with the double jointed ankles, that would be great for trying to find things you'd dropped down awkward gaps... but the health side of it sounds like it could be a nightmare, I have enough trouble just walking down stairs w/out boots on in case my ankles decide they don't want to stay upright anymore ^^;
Exactly, I mean a lot of people will say cats will hide when they're going to die, but interpret it as they hide when they're /hurt/ to protect themselves, this just happens to often lead to death in severe cases, a mild case and the animal will run away when approached so their being wedged in an awkward place isn't a problem and it doesn't get noticed. So I've never considered it too strange, but a lot of people do, or at least those I've mentioned it too, maybe I have bad luck with that or something, as when they're hurt they'll instantly seek out help and/or comfort, or company of some sort.
We've a friend of the family who is going to be giving me some extra lessons, I'm really looking forward to it, I can't wait to get to a point where I'm relatively confident with my driving, and you know... not running into street signs. That would be nice =P I'm getting so antsy watching other people driving around like they were born doing it =< I know I can learn it but gosh darn it I wish I could just instantly get it XD
Thank you! We have 4 differences now, I know it's subtle, but it's a really small icon on the overlay so I'm not sure what they expect, with Vega and I's argument we might be okay, I mean they can't get us on the colour, it's a non-specific beret colour. I wonder how the Oddly Ornate Revolver got through... other than the fact that... it's not ornate... at all... cough Unfortunately Subeta's other tribute hat items often change the colour of the hat e.g. red to green, and I. Will. Not change the colour of this beret, I will fight for it all the way.
(Ah ha, no problem, it's nice to remember that I can actually talk about things other than Metal Gear, I get too focused on like... One thing far too easily. Just never anything useful, like college work...)
Shh I'm not procrastinating o.o
I like it but could you put the gold border on? I liked that a lot
LOL walls of text going on here XD
