This started last night but I was too tired and getting ready to sign off to post about it, and am just getting online now to find the issues are still happening.

  • Hovering over an item no longer gives me the pop-up that shows me what the items is/does
  • Adding/subtracting items from my wishlist by hovering over the item and clicking on -/+ no longer works
  • I cannot remove the events from my event bar, so cannot get my dashboard to come up
  • When I hover over any of the menu, the drop down menus do not appear, so that the only thing I can do is click subeta/interact/commerce/personal/CSC shop but cannot go to any submenus
  • Autopricer does not work (my paid time is going to run out before I can actually autoprice my shop again)

I have cleared my cache and cookies, I have shutdown and restarted my browser, I have tried a different browser, clearing the cache and cookies on that one as well, and I still cannot do any of the above.

Do you have javascript enabled? I am still able to do all that you listed above. Or perhaps you have an add-on/popup blocker that may be affecting it?

I have javascript enabled - nothing has changed in either of my browsers since I was able to do all of this on Thursday and before that. Again, no new add-ons/popup blocker that wasn't being used before Friday.

I was having the same problems...only I couldn't post on the forums. In my case its my security that won't allow scripts. Javascript is enabled, but its blocking stuff from Subeta like jquery. But if someone can't figure out what's going on, they can't report it because, at least for me, it wasn't allowing me to post on the forums.

So it is a matter of like whitelisting jquery?

Please see above. Apparently for Lypsyl it was blocking jquery and you need to whitelist it!

- What exactly is jquery and how exactly would I go about whitelisting it?

It depends on your security, what's happening with you is slightly different from my problem. For one thing I couldn't post on here, second it didn't start until this afternoon for me. But in my case, its NoScript which I access on the bottom of my browser to change the settings. It has a lot of stuff on it like - allow this, don't allow that and one of the things it wasn't allowing was jquery.com.

Ah - I don't use noscript on this computer - always found it slowed everything down too much.

The only add-on I have is adblock plus (and two add-ons that are specifically for tumblr).

The issue with posting to the forums happened to me before, as well as posting to the SB. It eventually seemed to resolve itself, since the mods couldn't help, and I didn't do anything differently to get it working again. But this is far more frustrating, since I rarely used the forums or the SB, it didn't affect me much. But this is really affecting my ability to play.

I'm pretty sure at least part of your problem is javascript (because Keith mentioned he was making changes in another thread), and if its not an addon blocking, it could be a firewall, virus protection program or maybe its just an older (or newer) version of javasript.

- I'm looking at the "inspect element (Q)" option in firefox, and there are oodles of errors coming from the site for mixed content. According to the info on it, Firefox 23 and above automatically block mixed content. If all the fiddling that's being done on the website is causing the mixed content errors then it seems the only possible solution, aside from the coding itself, is downgrading browsers. 😞

Thanks anyway.

Posting here so I don't loose this thread.

I'm having the same issues. The drop down menu is not working currently, but will go on and off for me. When I first got in, it didn't work. Then 5 minutes later it was working, then a few minutes after, it was down again and is still down. The site is virtually unplayable without it and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I use the latest version of firefox and I have zero clue what you guys are talking about. x_x Sorry, dumb brain here.

Another thing I noticed is that hovering over an item pulls nothing up. No info, no wearable preview. Nada. Likewise, trying to delete notifications/alerts isn't working either. No matter how many times I click it, they continue to hang around.

I know you were having issues with this, too.

Yeah, having the same issue as above, and I have changed nothing in my browser since yesterday where everything worked just fine. Basically the info you're supposed to get when hovering over an item and the drop down menu just stopped working all of sudden, with no warnings or messages or so. I guess it's more of a site issue than my browser really :/

Posting here to say that this error has happened to me periodically over the past... six months? For <24 hours, navigation breaks, hovers break, shop search autocomplete breaks, and other misc. site features cease working. Then, without my having changed anything, the site works again. This is a persistent issue (although it seems to affect Firefox worse than Chrome)

If it's a problem with mixed content blocking, you can disable this in Firefox.

Does Firefox warn you that mixed content is blocked? There should be a shield icon that allows you to disable protection. See here.

I'm having the exact same problems as (thanks for posting this, I thought it was just me). I'm using Chrome and have made absolutely no changes to the browser, javascript is enabled, I don't use noscript or anything like that. Everything was dandy on Thursday and broke on Friday.

I would whitelist jquery but can't find it in Chrome's settings; does anyone know where it is?

What I ended up doing was downloading a third browser. I'm using Opera at the moment and things are working. The two browsers I was using before were Chrome and Firefox.

When I had my issues with posting on the forums, and in the SB (not being able to) - I downloaded Chrome, because again nothing the mods suggested was the problem (cookies/cache/javascript etc). After using Chrome for a couple of days, Firefox started working again. Now neither work. Hopefully the same doesn't happen again with Opera. crosses fingers

ETA: - that did it!!! Thank you! ^_^

- you might want to see if your browsers are blocking mixed content.

In both firefox and chrome there is a little shield in the URL bar (firefox on the left, Chrome on the right) that means mixed content is being blocked. Click the shield and choose to disable the protection against the mixed content. The page will reload and the menu bars etc. will be working again.
