me too! I mean...sometimes they take offense to it...but Ive had people say I wont leave you, im committed and still do it...so ya...I watch..I mean theres one person who I love using, she poofs because of real life stuff...but she always comes back and either just gives me the art with an apology, or explains what happens (which is nice, even if I say I will pay) but she comes back and does make it up...like I said I get people have lives...its just the poofing or sudden hiatus...or gone for 6 months, show me a slightly updated sketch, or promises to work on said sketch, then doesnt and is gone for another 3...I hate to say I dont always write down who I commissioned from...let alone when. ya know? but I will go back in posts...and go I commissioned you? who are you? when?? and its been sooo long I cant even remember...

that or artist you ask if they have a slot...or if they would be interested in doing said commission...and they dont give you any word about anything...then suddenly here...pay me...so Im like...O.O oh...you decided to do it...thank you...would have wished you said something...I set aside money for known commissions but its like when large amounts of time go by and you have no idea whats going on..just...its hard...Im rambling..sorry

Totally the same here. Or somebody opens up a art shop, waits till the slots get all filled up and then dissapears only to open up another art shop with empty slots a few weeks/months later (sometimes with newer/higher prices than before) which he/she won't finish as well. I really don't understand it...

This is exactly why I refuse to prepay for any sort of art, from anybody. Something similar to your experiences tends to happen on just about any virtual pet site I've attempted to buy commissions on. It's frustrating when I have a ton of hoarded up currency I would like to spend, due to lack of interest in the site. When I was in the process of liquidating my currency on FR, I made it mandatory that I receive daily updates from anyone who posted on my commission thread willing to draw for me, and nothing would be paid until the art was finished. Was it demanding? Yes it was, but I don't have any faith in that user base after an artist ran off with some of my site currency, and staff wouldn't do a thing to help me.

I've never asked for commissions from anybody on subeta, and I can't say I will anytime in the future since I have better things to do with my SP/CSC. I wish you luck in getting the commission you want, and I understand all too well how frustrating the commissioning process is.
