Nathaniel rolled his eyes at Croy's suggestion of being nice. "Now when has being nice really gotten anyone anywhere? Look at these experiments, I'm pretty sure a lot of them were nice before ending up here. Look where that got them." he said, replacing his glasses back on his face. "Stuck in a cage, being poked with needles." he glanced to Abraham's cage momentarily, hearing an irritated growl. Probably from the noise that was going on all around him. "And leaving them with bad attitudes,"

"Speak about yourself when you talk about bad attitudes, Nathaniel." Abraham growled, covering his sensitive ears. Arctic foxes could hear animals scurrying under three inches of ice, Abraham was stuck in a small lab with loud teenagers speaking up and yelling every five seconds. The noise was enough to make his head explode. Why couldn't they stick him in a more quieter room? At Adelaide's announcement he flicked his tail and clapped once. "Congratulations, would you all like a medal?" Abraham was never this cynical, but lack of sleep had strange affects on people and it made him extremely irritable.

"Good. Let that be another warning, everyone. You can ride but you definitely can't hide." Nate called, ignoring the fox man's comments. Yeah, he knew he had a habit of making snide and sarcastic comments but everyone dealed with it in their own way.

Balin woke slowly, having been curled as comfortably as possible in his small cage. The noise had woken him, all the chattering and chittering of dozens of experiments in a small, concrete room. There was nothing for the sound to be absorbed by, except for the bodies of the experiments, so it echoed. The sound was nearly constant, and it didn't help Balin's state of mind.

There was a moment, before he woke completely, where he was in control of his body, and he felt no urges to do anything but lay there. The comforting haze of sleep left, though, and he cackled with laughter. It was a hyena's laugh, the same sound that had resonated across plains and sent humans running for centuries. It was the sound of an animal bearing down on you, and enjoying every moment of it. It was all too easy to imagine that laugh as the last thing you would ever hear, and for hundreds of years, it was. And then the scientists harnessed it, and forced that laugh, that primal animal, into a human boy.

Balin was the result, and no body was happy about it.

The hyena's laugh was designed to cut through noise, to frighten those around it, and serve as a warning. Balin rolled his head around, his neck cracking, those sharp exclamations echoing off the hard walls as well. The echoes of his laugh hadn't died away, but Balin called out, his voice cracking and fluctuating in volume, "HELLO guys!" He hissed, "What have I been MISSING?" His head lolled back against the bars of his cage and he laughed again, the pitch of his voice rising into a manic giggle towards the end.

He stopped immediately, his face moving from a harsh, tortured smile, to a serious, hungry stare. "Surely someone is going to fill me in." He said, voice suddenly dangerous, "I would really like to know." He sounded like a disappointed child, but the smile that spread on his face was angry, like the child was suddenly holding a gun. And then he threw his head back, and another violent laugh filled the space.

This time, he didn't stop.

{ Eh, suckish intro. Sorry guys.}

ooc; I'm pretty sure it's the second. All I know is that it's supposed to be AniuWolfe's person :P ]x
ic; "All righty then Adelaide and Nathaniel." Croy let out a sigh and looked at his sister. "Keep dreaming, we'll never be friends oh and quiet down please." he knew Ariaa was probably already off in dream land but he didn't care. Croy heard Adelaide say that the escaped experiment has been caught, "Did they put it down. The experiment?" he asked knowing that they already did, at least that's what his instinct told him. Croy was in the mood too sleep, of course his shift just started so how could he. "Some people here need to be a little quiet." he said turning his head to Ariaa's direction again... it seemed as though she wasn't sleeping but listening to our conversations, or perhaps thinking of a plan to escape. "If your still awake just say so."
~
"Stop looking at me, it's pissing me off. Also how about you keep quiet and leave us alone. I can talk as much as I want too." Ariaa gave a rude glare to her brother. She felt like cutting him to pieces, she some what despised her brother and now that he has become a scientist she hated him even more. 'Traitor.' she though to herself. She somehow felt like her thoughts were being read by her brother so she hoped that he heard that. Ariaa listened to Adelaide's announcement about the experiment that just got caught and sighed. "I'm not in much of a bad mood. It's kind of relaxing being here, just saying. I'm only pissed at the thought of Croy being here. He is stupid, dumb, and a pain in the ass. I suggest you fire him." Ariaa proclaimed replying to Nathaniel's stupid comments about the experiments, though she did admit that most of them were starting to get a little reckless. "Argh.. I'll never get some rest." she sighed and just glared at her brother, looking at his face wanted to make her gag.
~
"Now, now, Ariaa dear. Be nice to your brother. Have you ever heard of respect your elders?" Croy listened as his sister complained and then completely changed the subject. Croy couldn't stand the fact that his sister was being rude to him but he sorta deserved it for being a scientist, course, that wasn't his problem. "Fine, no one has to be nice." he said in a low voice and walked towards Adelaide. He watched as his sister glared at him angrily. He let out a chuckle and looked at the others . . . he heard Balin's sudden out burst and felt some what annoyed by his laugh. "Will you shut up." Croy was starting to get pissed but he didn't want to go on a rage, he let his anger go and relaxed for a while. "Hmm there seems to be one experiment who hasn't been making any noise..." he looked at Torolf's cage and walked towards it. "Hello?? Is any body there?"
ooc; Hmmm, i wonder where is O.o]x

I did post, (i think you missed the ping... i was fantasizing about locking you in a cage :))

(probably sleeping)

Samantha watched the scientist bickering with no interest what so ever. She was hardly feeling rebelious now, instead she closed her eyes and though about home, her parents, did they really sell her out like the scientist said?... "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" a maniacal laugh cut into her thoughts like a knife. "Can't you see im thinking about important stuff here?!" she thought "they think we're noisy, your mouth should be taped shut... you should be in a straight jacket too". "AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!" Samantha wanted to laugh too, she always fould hyena laughs funny, her mouth streched into a wide grin.

One of the scientists, Ariaas brother, was checking on an experiment that was unusually quiet. Sam didn't really care, she just closed her eyes again still grinning at the thought of the hyena's laugh.

Roy grumbled to himself and stood up to look through the cages. In all his time working here, he now felt that the better thing to do would be to shut down. Not because he didn't like what they did, no he didn't care, he just disliked when the creatures escaped and caused trouble. And with all this research nothing seemed to be coming of it. It was worthless. But, he didn't get too involved with it, so maybe they had some experiment that was amazing and working well, one that they could take blood from and extend a persons life for a day or more. He doubted that.

Kale glowered out at the scientists but stopped talking for a while. He laid down and relaxed. He sighed. "Haha, agree with me science guy? The nice ones are hard to find." He stated. Laughing about it, nice was a term loosely used. If the people were nice they didn't always last so long. Roy would last because he was tough and mean. The people running this place had no room for softies, in both scientists and experiments. Kale wiggled in the cage a bit. The hard cold floor getting to him again. "How about this, you guys like, I dunno, spend a few extra bucks on bigger cages, or, hell, give us actual rooms to sleep in, like, cots even would be better. Then maybe with the food and shelter on top of it, we won't run away and we'll be nicer. I would at least." He rambled on about it.

Alright Ariaa the Night Owl Shall become Wendy’s favourite, thanks Honeysprout ^^

Wendy quickly stepped into room 100, after being told about five times that miss Delacroix had been demanding for her none stop. “Yes, yes I’m here,” despite the annoyance in her voice she still had a smirk on her face. “Before you start complaining about my absence I was helping out some of the…hmm less talented scientist. They can’t even store animal DNA properly with out assistance.” She looked around examining the new experiments and the old, shocked at the rebellious behaviour of some of them, certainly not hers, although her experiment did have a few snippy comments she was at least quiet. “My goodness, what is with all this noise children.” Her smile turning into a neutral frown. “Your being awfully loud, a little too loud if you ask me.” She glared over at Balin. “Specifically you dear, you need to quiet down the chuckle of yours or else we might need to snip those vocal cords.” She makes a snipping scissor impression with her two fingers. Her eyes shifted and her eyes caught Ariaa along with her interests, she almost had forgotten that Delacroix still wanted her. “Now, onto more important matters.” A smile appeared on her face once again. She notice Ariaa’s evil glance towards Croy. “My, my.” She spoke softly as she walked over to Ariaa’s cage and knelt down so they could see eye to eye. “Has he been bothering you~ ^^ I could fix that you know~.”

((Sorry if it’s a bit poor I didn’t re-read since I just wanted to get her reply out there XD I’ll work on Torolf now. Thanks Honeysprout for the summary suggestion but iunno I just like to read the posts I’m strange like that XD.))

Torolf sat in his cage quietly trying to wrap his head around the whole situation he had been trusted into. He was concentrating hard on listening to the scientists and experiments opinions on the place there were now, wherever this was. I was hard to focus though since his body was slightly aching, specifically his jaw, his lower back side, where his animal ears connected with his skull and his feet, gosh why did his feet hurt so much. He pulled off his shoes since they felt way too big for some reason there he found out why. His heel had extended way further up his leg then they should have been and his feet were more paw-like or animal-like then his original human feet. He whimpered to himself slightly, while rubbing his new feet to try and ease some of the pain. This was all a bit much to take in. His new body was not the only thing the worry about, almost all the scientist seemed nasty or un-caring, some of them showed promise, but thorolf feared them all equally. He was also afraid about the fact that he might go insane, as other experiments had apparently. Then…then he would be killed just like that? What about his parents, his family? Do they know he’s there? Are they worried? And to even make it worse have of the experiments had no hope or no idea how to get out. Either did he, but he did want to get out of there, ever so badly and if he ever wanted to get out of here he had to hope he just had to or else he might loose his sanity even faster. His depressing thoughts were interrupted by one of the scientist starting a conversation with him. For some reason when he was up close the scientist did not seem as scary, in fact it was kind of nice to have a conversation to distract him from this terrible situation. “Hello,” He spoke quietly. “I’m here, what is it?”

ic; "Yes he is. Croy is annoying and get him to stop looking at me. He may be my brother, but I'll be rude to him if I want to."Ariaa smiled and looked at Wendy. She was a nice scientist, she took care of Ariaa well but some how Ariaa felt that she was being manipulated. "I kinda agree with Kale... we need bigger cages... I feel like this thing is shrinking and it's pissing me off." her purple hair ran down her face and her blue highlights shun where the light from the hallway reflected. "Anyone else feel cramped in these cages?? I too would behave much more if we were actually taken care of properly you know." Ariaa let out a sigh and went back onto glaring at her brother. . .
"How could you possibly fix anything... your not the head Adelaide is. I'm just saying also.. Ariaa, Kale... your never going to get new cages if you keep complaining like that." Croy let out a low sigh and watched as his sister glared at him. "Blah, blah blah..." Croy was on the verge of collapsing, he was so tired that he could sleep right there, standing. He walked closer to Adelaide and asked in a low whisper "So what are we going to do with these guys??" and sighed... Croy walked back to Torolf realizing he had spoken back, "Oh, hello. I was just wondering if you were there or not is all." he smiled and walked away.... thinking if there were any other experiments he hadn't talked to yet..

Because Balin needs his say, I suppose I'll post again? :P}

Balin felt a strange kind of anger boil through his system, and his fingers went rigid, stretching the joints an tendons to the point of pain, but he simply grinned savagely. This was what he wanted. He flung his body back and forth against the bars of the cage, watching the other experiments. His laugh echoed around the space oddly, but it didn't stop him. He kept up the terrifying laugh before descending into a series of yips. The clash of the shaking metal cage on the concrete floor was deafening, but Balin didn't mind. Everything else did the same, so what was one more source of white noise?

He stopped, unable to sink to the floor, but wanting to. Instead he flung himself forward, towards the scientists, able to see two of them, females, though he could tell there was another out of his line of sight. He could smell him. He licked his lips and stared at the two women, looking halfway normal for a moment, before his lips pulled back from his teeth and another high-hyena laugh ripped itself out of his throat. He didn't stop staring at the women though, and he barely blinked.

"Hi there." He whispered, beginning to shake slightly. "You know who I am, right?" He sounded like a lost child, and it was true. He couldn't remember if he had seen these women before, though he had the feeling he had. He whined, and then curled up as best he could, his head in his hands. His tough fingernails, which seemed more like claws, pulled at his scalp, opening up furrows in the delicate skin there. The blood ran through his hair, and then over his face and neck. Head wounds always bled a lot, but Balin didn't care. He snapped his head back up to stare at the woman, blood on his hands and running down his face. His mouth was partially open, but he didn't know why, and his eyes were wide, either from pain, or fear, he didn't know. Then he began to laugh again, and this time, he positively howled.

((Aaaah. SO MANY POSTS.))

Delacroix let out a gust of air for the umpteenth time in the past 5 hours. What was with these people? Gardens flounces in late and completely ignores the one who's been asking for her, in this particular case Delacroix herself. She'll get on her in a bit. She probably didn't know about the newest escapee.

"Maybe you're just getting fat. Gardens probably slips you extras after feeding hours." she told Ariaa snidely, knowing that this was most likely NOT the case. But who knew? Adelaide snarled as her head began to pulse. Maybe she'd request funds for new cages from the uppers so these teenagers would be quiet for once in their sorry lives.

And then something caught her attention. Balin. Not again. His shrieks shook the reinforced walls of the lab most awesomely.

"God damn it." Adelaide shoved her clipboard at Croy who had just whispered to her. Balin's howling was practically busting her eardrums. It was the 3rd time this week already. She sprinted towards Roy on thin spindly legs, shoved her hand in his coat pocket and wrapped cold fingers around one of his tranquillisers. She honestly needed to carry these around herself, but lower positions were usually responsible for injections.

"Move your lazy asses! I don't want to lose any more expensive projects!" she seethed as she shoved herself away from Roy.

She dropped to her knees in front of Balin's cage, pushed her sleeves back exposing skinny arms and thrust her arms into his cage, even though the risk of getting bit was high. His teeth grazed her palms as she reached for a vein and Adelaide hissed. She sunk the needle into a vein in his neck and pushed in the sedative. She watched as the liquid vanished into his bloodstream. Snatching away her hands, Delacroix crouched silently and waited to see the effects. Hopefully it would act quickly. Delacroix pressed her fingers over her bleeding palm.

"Someone get the antiseptic, bandages, whatever the hell we need to patch him up again. And get me a band-aid." Adelaide spoke over her shoulder to the rest of the crowd. She looked back at them with teeth clenched. "NOW."

Ahah, probably. Sorry! (( ): Crap post is crap. I know nothing about medical science, let alone where ta stick a needle.))

Roy scrambled to get some bandages for the creature, as well as band-aids for Adelaide. He handed off the band-aids and checked Balin's cage to see if he had fallen into the forced sleep yet. He would wait until he had to get Balin out. Before this he found the key for the cage. "We'll get him taken care of..." He stated.

Kale smirked. There was Balin causing trouble. Oh it wasn't as though he didn't feel like throwing himself around and screaming sometimes. But after being sedated several times for this he held it down. Mostly. He pulled himself back against the back of the cage as far back as he could go and sat there. As though he could just hide in the small cage. "Someone got nicked, and you got yelled at Roy Boy. Told ya, you're gonna get fired. Does that get him killed? It includes more then just being fired, or do you all have a brain washing thing?" He asked.

Roy ignored him and carefully put a hand through the bars to check Balin's pulse. Well, he wasn't dead.

OOC: Sorry. Don't worry Astronaut, this is way worse. Yours is good. xd

Woops in my last reply I said Samantha instead of Balin I fixed it~

Wendy shifted her position so she sat in the middle of Croy and Ariaa’s eye contact so they could no longer view each other. She opened her mouth to speak to Ariaa once again but was interrupted by a comment by Croy that got on her nerves. She turns and glares at him. “Well you clearly do not know me very well Mr. Croy." She turns her attention back to Ariaa. “My, he is annoying, but he does prove a point, bigger cages are not really a request that can be accomplished. Hun, we can’t give you bigger cages in case one of you tries to charge at the bars and try to escape.” She gently but swiftly pokes her nose through the cage and pulls it out before Ariaa could try and grab it. “Can’t be too careful.” She hears the racket of Balin rattling his cage. “I know you wouldn’t mistreat the gift of a bigger cage but as you can see, others would.” She tilts her head at Balin to use him as an excuse for keeping her in a small cage. “Buuutt, if you really feel that cramped we could always run some tests to get you out of that concentrated area for a couple hours.” She directs her attention to Adelaide once she starts to try and inject the experiment. She gets up. “Geez, someone sure messed up his DNA combination now didn’t they? Uft, yes ma’am antiseptic and bandages right away~.” Wendy swiftly went to fetch the needed ingredients her boss asked her. She was a bit annoyed by Adelaide’s sudden rage, but she could understand where she was coming from, not a lot of people have been pulling their weight and it had been hindering us greatly. Personally, Wendy thought it would be better if only the top scientists were around and they dropped the amateur ones. There may be less people but at least they wouldn’t be annoyed by those under them. She returns after a couple minuets from the storage area to retrieve her items. “here, you first Addy.” Wendy hands her some gauze to wrap her hand along with antiseptic for her. “I have to say that was quite reckless of you, better disinfect yourself as well.” She quickly turned her attention to Balin so she didn’t have to face Adelaide’s possible scolding for Wendy’s criticism face to face. She smiled from the silly situation she somehow found herself in.

Ooc: I go to sleep for a few hours and this is what I come back too. Phew! I'm afraid to go to school tomorrow. Bic: He's never made it a habit of getting into one of these bad's mood of his, and he really wasn't as bad as some of these other experiment but, damn it, all they did was complain and he's was going to lose it if they didn't shut the hell up! His ears couldn't take it anymore! He was fairly thankful for Addy for putting that tarp up because it lessened the noise-not by much though. But that was when Balin started. That annoying laughter that echoed off of everything. With that he snarled and banged himself against the cage once as if trying to get at him. "Would someone please shut him the hell up?" he growled through clenched teeth. "And how about everyone else just quiet your damn complaining? You're in a cramped cage, you're going to stay in a cramped cage. No amount of complaining or useless whining will get you anywhere. So shut. The. F&^!. Up."

Nate looked at Abraham's cage and cocked an eyebrow. "Someone's on the verge of a mental breakdown." he muttered. "That goes to you as well, Nathaniel." Abraham growled at him. "What are you going to do, threaten me if I don't?" Nate questioned. He saw Abraham lift a bit of the tarp up to give him the evil eye and bare his teeth at him. Of course he couldn't do anything yet it felt satisfying none the less to at least try and threaten the cocky scientist the only way he could-like an animal. "Very intimidating, Abe. I'm scared. No really," Nate said, turning away from the fox-man to continue on his computer.

Abraham growled lowly, curling himself up as tight as he could in the small cage. Every minute of today made escaping sound almost like heaven. Would he dare try though? He'd been in here longer than anyone else, he could barely remember a time where he wasn't stuck in a cage, being feed what ever they gave him, being taken out only under sedation and for test. In a sick and weird way this place had become...not really a home but a place he couldn't see himself with out. How in the world would he survive in the real world anymore? Take one look at him and he'd be shot on the spot. Escaping may sound like a good plan, but if you really thought about it, what would you do if you got out except die? Morbid yes, but it was the truth.

Adelaide took the gauze and the band-aids with a huff, not a thank you anywhere on her tongue for the scientists. She swiped the cut clean, applied the stinging antiseptic, and swiftly patched it up with a band-aid. Never underestimate the band-aid. The whole while Adelaide watched critically as Roy hovered over Balin's cage.

"You better get him taken care of, Roy." Adelaide frowned as she examined Balin's gouges from a safe distance. "And we've already lost thousands of dollars on research on the project, Gardens. Got to prevent as many as we can from kicking the bucket, a little cut never hurt anybody too much. And honestly, I'm not too sure, Kale. Now be quiet or I'll stick this needle in you too." Adelaide had a habit of threatening the experiments with tranquillisers. Sadly, lot's of them appreciated the calm that the tranquillisers gave.

She heard Abraham and Nixon rattling off in another area of the lab. Delacroix's mouth twisted down more than she thought possible; she hoped that Abraham would be able to keep his temper and not go bananas or something. He'd be too good a subject to lose.

Samantha opened her eyes, the scene was quite different esspecially since the hyena boy quieted down. Every one seemed in a pretty bad mood. "What exactly did I sleep through?"she thought, then turned to her tail "Maybe it wasnt such a good idea to stick you outside, now how am I supped to get you back in? I can barely move"

Samantha looked around and let out a sigh. She was miserable, grumpy and bored not to mention cramped. She flicked her tail in irritation "So what now? Do I just sit here for the rest of my life till i become as crazy as hyena boy? Probably, I feel like tearing this cage down right now" she thought and flicked her tail again "Nah, I don't think ill lose my grip on sanity, probably just become more like a snow leopard." It was little comfort, she flicked her tail again "Or ill just sit here in this miserable dump and flick my tail for the rest of my life"

"Don't worry about it. We probably won't live as long as normal people anyway." Kale stated blatantly. Part of the reason he didn't attempt escape, or at least hadn't yet, was because he always figured he wouldn't last much longer anyway. Why get out only to die a day later? Some might just give it all for one day of freedom. Frankly he'd just give something for warmth, but even escaping wouldn't necessarily give him that. The cheetah experiment did not ignore the tranquilizing threats, it may have appeared he did, but he stopped bugging the scientists and calmed down a bit more.

Roy nodded slightly, and once he was sure Balin was completely out, he opened the cage door. First he cleaned the injuries with antiseptic and then continued bandage him up. He checked the claws on the creature and frowned. "Maybe we should clip them down? Tape socks or something to his hands so he has trouble clawing himself up..." He mumbled, half to himself, but the others could hear fine. "Of course I'm sure we could find an extra strait jacket lying around." He added.
