It really does make the end game scenes so much more dramatic and whatnot.
I'll just keep using cleave with proto-behemoth and pretend he's Bahamut :U
I am seriously looking forward to getting there xD.
XD When Behemoth stands on it's hind legs, hell yes. Those were my fave enemies in XIII too
I'm close to that point. I'm missing rougly 12 fragments. Among them are mostly casino fragments and paradox endings, but after that I'll need to find every monster (I know I'm missing some) for the last fragment. I'm looking forward to it, although I will not be searching manually (that's what guides are for :P)
My first assumption was that To Be Continued meant the next game in the XIII saga, since I recall initially (before XIII was released) that they wanted to have three games. I will definitely get the Sazh DLC, but does anyone know how much it costs? I hope it's not too much, because if they keep adding interesting DLC then this game will become wallet unfriendly fast. I also want to get the Lightning/Amodar DLC but it's not high priority. $3 for one battle (while a better deal than $3 for a costume) is a bit pricey.
One thing I like about these summons that the ones in XIII lacked was that they have more of a personality. Confused? Well, they don't exactly talk or participate in the story, but there's a few things that make them more personable. For one, you can name them and decorate them, to give the sense that this is your monster, not someone else's. You can also raise it however you like in the Crystarium, whereas I believe XIII summons grew alongside you in a predictable fashion. I trained a Chichu as a Commander, as I'm sure many other people did, but it still felt like I had a unique Chichu, for these reasons. It's like Pokemon in that respect, lol.
lol yes I agree with that. I do love that aspect but part of me wishes that there could still be more people in your crew. /People/ To be honest I think that was my only major complaint about the game. xD Oh that and Serah get's annoying sometimes XD
Haha, actually I found Noel to be the one who gets annoying sometimes. Sometimes I wish that too. I was a bit disappointed when I learned that Serah and Noel were the only two. It ended up making sense, but I still missed that sense of camaraderie. Instead it feels like I'm watching an awkward love story.
If you want more actual people, as has been said, Lightning and Amodar can be "tamed" and used, although I doubt they talk much or participate in the plot. I also read that at the end of the upcoming Sazh DLC, it will be possible to recruit Sazh to your party. Probably in similar fashion though. Doesn't make much sense for Fang and Vanille, but I wonder if they'll do the same thing for Snow. Since Snow (like Sazh) has been off on his own adventure, DLC showing that would be pretty cool.
Slight spoilers. To those of you who have completed the paradox endings, was anyone as disappointed as I was that we don't get to play Snow and Serah's adventure after Snow saves Serah in Academia 4XX AF? Snow was one of the characters I liked in XIII, and it often felt awkward that Noel and Serah are adventuring together, while Snow is off on his own.
XD Agreed. Also if I remember right from what I read, there is no chemistry with Serah and Noel. I love that they did that rather then making it so that you'd have a love triangle with Snow, Serah and Noel.
That's actually be really cool, but /taming/ Lightning? She isn't a feral beast XD. Gotta say though, I wish we could tame Caius. I know he's the enemy but who doesn't wanna tame the baddass of the game? haha
Haha, while I wouldn't discount DLC, it seems unlikely that you could ever tame Caius. I laugh when I imagine you fighting Caius, using Caius as your ally.
XD That's very true but it's a shame you'd have to keep buying the DLC. Tis a nice idea but definitely not necessary.
Yeah, I feel like they could have put it in the game to begin with if they delayed the release a bit. DLC, to me, often feels like the release of an unfinished game, and then finishing it later by making people pay extra.
I agree completely. It just reminds me of Skylanders and how you have to buy the other pieces to actually see the whole game. : Granted I hate Skylanders.
I can't say I'm too familiar with Skylanders but it doesn't sound appealing based on what I've heard.
I've watched my nephews play it since they own it and it's really horrible. The graphics are mediocre, and the storyline is ew. then you look at the characters and you wanna gag!
Sounds lovely. I'll probably steer clear. I pay enough money to the franchises I like now without having yet another cash cow empty my wallet.
Speaking of which, FFXIII DLC. What DLC would you most want to have? I personally find costumes to be really not worth the money.
I finally got every single achievement and fragment. So it took freaking forever. The secret ending? It was a total wtf. On a side note, you can replay the opening scene in vallhala if you have all the fragments.
I'm waiting on the Sahz DLC right now. 7 more days~
I'm a little pissy. I changed my xbox live username, so in order to get to live, I had to download my profile. Which got rid of all my achievements. I sob. So now I have to go and do annoying tasks to get 1000 points again.
Congrats on 100%. I won't get the chance to play the game some more until next week, but I'm close to finishing. But really? You lost all your achievements? That sounds unreasonable. I'm not too familiar with how Xbox Live works (I use PS3) but it seems like the achievements should come with the profile.
I had to redownload my online profile or something. Unfortunately, I hadn't been on live for a while, so I went from 1000 points to 343. :C
OH WELL IT GIVES ME SOMETHING TO DO.
That sucks. Maybe it's just because I like achieving 100% in games, but if I got 100% and then lost it for some silly reason, I would be very much upset.
Agreed on Raspatil (took a while to beat him, but still did on my first encounter), but Yomi wasn't too bad ^^ I got Lightning in my second fight, Amodar took ages until I decided to kill him last - instantly tamed xD
Sorry to hear about losing your profile D: That must suck. The closest I've come to that is losing all my game saves when lightning struck my previous PS3 last summer. Took every save I had had over the years, which really sucks for games like Final Fantasy XIII, LittleBigPlanet, Disgaea 3, Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age -_-
The Sazh episode is apparently $5. Personally I ignored Chichu a lot, he seemed like a cheap way to get an awesome commando - I'd rather use the monsters I like than something that is wayyyy too strong.
The Snow paradox ending was one of my favourites xD Leaving Noel behind FTW. Maybe future DLC would explore that, but I'm not counting on it :P Snow DLC has been discussed, however they may also simply do novels or other media releases instead.

$5 isn't too bad. I'd still prefer it to be released in the original game instead of tacked on extra, but I will probably play the $5. Sazh is totally worth it, lol.
I don't see any problem with using the strongest commando. Sure, you can get it without having to tame a monster, but taming isn't exactly hard, especially after you get the right fragment skill. And it still took a lot of effort to level it up and infuse the right abilities on it. So I quite like my Chichu.
I think having DLC extend off of paradox endings might be a bit confusing, but I am curious. If we do get Snow DLC though, it'll probably be Snow's solo adventure that is alluded to in the Graviton Core fragments.
$5 will get you an episode, two casino games and Sazh in your party. So for that it's not too bad :P I agree DLC really is a bad idea for most things, but I don't mind coming back to the game months along the line whenever they release new stuff ^^ It's FF, and I'm a fan so I'll take it. They could probably try to justify these by saying the episodes don't really fit in the main game since the game is from the perspective of Noel and Serah xD
There's no problem with using it if you want to, but I saw no need for him and preferred using the other nostalgic monsters or Amodar in his place ^^ I did use him for a few fights (against Amodar & Lightning in fact xD) and the shades I put on him look nice.
Yup, taming's not hard, just time consuming for the low percentage ones xD Made using them even more fun for me though.
